We had a great time and also managed to keep a teenager entertained! The bonus of the included wi-fi helped with that. Love all the wild life. The flock of geese likes this property and they will probably be in the yard each morning. Would suggest to any nature lovers.
This cabin was just what our family needed to get away for a few days. Not far from Garden of the Gods, horseback riding, Paducah, and Metropolis. A very relaxing time!
Great spot on the lake. My partner and I visited Brookport last year and decided to bring family this year so we decided to rent this bigger cabin. No issues at all with the stay and had everything we needed.
We enjoyed the peacefulness of the lake. Sitting by the fire pit next to the lake was very relaxing. We had a minor issue with the AC the first night and the managers were quick with a response and very accommodating in offering another cabin if necessary. Overall, a great experience!
Met up with a friend here for a quiet reading weekend and it was perfect. Very peaceful for a rainy September weekend. Shelley was great at answering our questions quickly in the lead up to our stay.
We loved the view, the lake, the large screened porch. Only 2 complaints: The lower gazebo was missing the door, so we couldnât use it. It was screened, but without a door, bugs got in. And, the hot tub rules were ridiculously strict. We decided not to use it for fear weâd be accused of not following rules. I really think they should be known on site before you go
Absolutely beautiful, peaceful property. The entire home was clean and charming. 3 bedrooms was perfect for me and my 2 adult sons, everyone had their own space. The lake was so serene. Pics dont do it justice.
We loved the quietness
Fished the lake
Enjoyed the hot tub.
Beautiful Cabin.
We will be returning next year.
Thank you so much for sharing your piece of Paradise
We really enjoyed how quiet it was. The lake was beautiful. If youâre looking for a peaceful relaxing getawayâŠâŠ.. this is it.
Would definitely recommend this property.
This was a nice cabin on the lake. Nice dock right on the lake. Screened in room was nice. We didnât use the hot tub, but it was available. The only negative was the long gravel road coming in was a little rough, but it added to the privacy and seclusion of the property. if youâre looking for a place to get away at the lake, thchoose.
The cabin was very nice, spacious with a wonderful view of the lake. The kitchen was stocked with the basic needs for cooking (nice) , the bedrooms were comfortable and spacious and the living room was comfortable . The children enjoyed the areas with the dock, screened areas for hot tub and picnic table. The WiFi was not very good most of the time which was a disappointment for the children and adults alike. The last 1/2 mile to the cabin was not paved. It was a gravel dirt road that was badly washed out with a lot of the road having holes and ruts. Unless you are driving a vehicle with high ground clearance (like a truck etc) that part of the road is not easy to maneuver and the possibility of damage to a lower ground clearance vehicle is a BIG concern.
Property is as described, we had 6 adults and didn't feel crowded. Plenty of towels, kitchen had everything you would need. Charcoal and fire wood provided. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows after cooking burgers over the fire. Lake is beautiful, we floated around and utilized the kayaks. It is very peaceful at Hohman Lake, we enjoy visiting. The hot tub is deluxe, large and all functional, very clean. Checking in and out was very easy. The only challenge is the last stretch of road to the cabin. We arrived after a storm, and the already rough road was worse than usual. Still passable even in a Camry, lol, just use caution. We recommend this cabin (and the area) for a great lake house experience.
Wonderful Lake view with screen porch for relaxing. Although we did not fish or kayak - there is ample opportunity including a great firepit with cooking grate. The Host was wondeful, easy to reach and nearby to help out with special requests. The neighborhood was so peaceful and safe.
My girlfriends and I take a weekend away every June and love to explore new small towns. We also very much like a nice view and access to a hot tub. This house checked all those boxes. In addition, updated features, great view and solid communication with owner.
A couple of notes. We stayed during a pretty cool wet spell, so they are definitely struggling with nature making its way inside the house. Do NOT leave food on the counter unless sealed TIGHTLY and do not leave dirty dishes in the sink. We were met with ants on breakfast pastries (unopened but not sealed well enough) and a mouse on the kitchen table when we got home from dinner. (Stuart Little got away to live another day so it was a bit of a restless sleep that night!)
Owners responded promptly and refunded 10% for our troubles. I very much believe they are doing everything in their power to fix this current natural
consequence of a lake house property and donât think it should keep anyone from experiencing what this place has to offer!
One more note about nature - be careful of deer! We saw DOZENS morning, noon and night (especially dusk) on the drive up to the house. Beautiful and stressful for the driver!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The home was clean and well stocked. The layout was very comfortable with plenty of room for us and our friends. My husband uses a walker and had no trouble getting around once we were in the house. The two steps to get in were quite manageable. The view from the screen porch was outstanding and we spent much of our time out there. We had fun kayaking on the lake with the included equipment. We spent our days exploring Paducah and the commute was pretty short and included a trip over a very interesting old bridge. It was a bit of a thrill each day. Due to recent very heavy rains, we had a little problem with ants and mice. While not ideal, it happens when you are in the woods. The owners were extremely responsive and came daily during our stay to remediate the problem. We loved the charm of Paducah, which included highlights of the Quilt Museum and a tour of the Misty Pond Alpaca farm. Such adorable creatures! We would definitely stay in the home again.
