Thank you very much for those three weeks of dream.
The house is so charming and comfortable.
The pool is a real pleasure at the end of the day, espacially when you back from a city trip.
The village is so nice and well situed to discover most of Andalucia.
Isabel was very kind and helpful, and gives us many information.
You can go without hesitation.
It was the best holidays in family we've ever been on.
Lovely village house in great location with fabulous views of the spectacular scenery which surrounds the very picturesque village of Montejaque. It really is a wonderful spot. Great communication with both the house owners and the local property manager.
The holiday was very much a last minute decision on my part as I'd just returned from business in India. Not being used to Vrbo I found the process of finding properties in the areas we favored very easy. The website was relatively easy to navigate and the booking/payment process reasonably easy as well.
The description of the property was concise, descriptive and didn't overly embellish the features. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jean Mae (owners agent) on the edge of the village. And after parking the car we made our to the property. We immediately felt at home and settled in. The views from the property are quite stunning and it is not overlooked by other properties.
Montejaque is beautiful little village in a very spectacular location. It has a good selection of bars for tapas, and restaurants if you want a meal. There are shops for food and a bakery for fresh bread and cakes.
There is plenty of surrounding countryside to explore and walk in.
We will certainly be returning it has been PERFECT!!
The beatifully furnished house is situated in the little quiet, charming and very authentic village Montejaque. From the windows and roof terrasse there is a fantasic view of the beatiful landscape. Most meals were enjoyed in the charming yard with green plants, flowers and shade from the sun in the hot hours. Other meals was taken in the small local restaurants and bars. Sunbathing could be done in privacy on the rooftop. We enjoyed however to go to the public pool a few minutes away. For a few euros we would have access to a super swimmingpool , sunbeds, umbrellas and surprisingly good tapas and drinks served by a very friendly staff. The nights were hot in july, but the aircondition ensured our good nightsleep. We made interesting excursions to Alhambra, Granada, Sevilla and Ronda as well as a few shorter hikes and visit to the very interesing Cueva Pilate. If you are looking for touristshops, nightclubs, bars with action find somewhere else. If you are looking for a sense of the real Andalucia go here!
This is our 2nd stay at Lynda & Michaels home, and certainly won't be our last. The home is well-appointed, comfortable, and has everything you need for a several-week stay. It's close to Ronda, and is a perfect base to explore the Grazalema Park area with a multitude of hikes and some world-class cycling.
We enjoyed our 1 month stay in this lovely house. Located on a steep street the property is within walking distance to a nearby restaurant and a few bars. There are small mini-markets for essentials, but no designated parking near the house. The kitchen is well equipped, the WiFi is reasonably fast and reliable, and we enjoyed watching BBC on the TV. The two patios offered us great views and we used them often. The weather the first week was cold and damp, and the homeâs interior reflected that, but with the wood burning stove and wall heaters we were able to make the living space reasonably comfortable. When the weather turned warmer, the inside became more pleasant. The bed was to our liking. Montejaque was a great location for exploring Andalucia and the Grazelema National Park. The property is exactly as described and depicted in the photos, and we would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.
We enjoyed our stay overall in this pretty Spanish cottage. The property was equipped with everything we needed. We had good bars and restaurants within walking distance. The location suited us for nearby walking. We found the electricity kept âtrippingâ but this may have been due to a storm during our stay. There was also an existing leak under the kitchen sink and around the dishwasher which we reported to the agents.
Our reception on arriving at the property was disappointing. We had stayed in several properties in the area prior to our stay in Grazalema and had been very impressed by the way we were shown round properties and how things were explained. This was not the case here...I felt that we had inconvenienced the agent; she told us rather brusquely that we were 15minutes early and would have to wait. Her colleague then appeared shortly after this and let us in but did not seem to be able to answer questions about the equipment in the house. This did not affect our stay overall however and when we asked for some towels these were quickly provided.
The beds in 2 of the rooms were heavy duty camping type beds with extremely uncomfortable mattresses.
My family of four adults stayed a week in Michael's house and we wished we'd had a few more days! It was fantastic weather, the village was buzzing with a music festival for the first few days of our stay. The mountains and the walking suited us all. The added bonus was the pool at the end of the street, always quiet and even though the water was very cold, it was great to cool off after a hot trek through the countryside.
The house was well equipped and the courtyard garden was cool and relaxing.
We found everyone friendly and the food at La Casitas was great.
Thank you Michael.
The property is located in the most stunning rural area with beautiful mountain views surrounding. Maintained to high standard, a home from home feeling.
Helpful management team, always contactable. Lots of fabulous places to explore in the region. Friendly rural village with well stocked local shops, tavernas. Would happily return for longer next time!!

Loved the house and the seclusion it offered, even in the village location. Wonderful view of the limestone hills from the roof terrace. Loads of wildlife which was one of the principal reasons for coming to Andalucia at this time of year, and we were near several good walks in the Grazelema national park. We could not have been better looked after by Isabel, who responded promptly to our calls for advice. We commend her willingness to greet our arrival so late in the night after our two hour flight delay. The only slight misgiving was that some of the villagers seemed quite wary of us, even though we tried to be friendly. But perhaps that was more to do with our bungling of the language than anything else.
Very well appointed with two external eating areas. 3rd bedroom was disappointing and not usuable during our stay. Having said that we would return - the location is great and the local agent was very helpful.

The village of Montejaque is a postcard, tumbling into the palm of the dramatic karst peaks which surround it. The place feels magically remote yet the house and the village provide every comfort and are within easy striking distance of major sites. During our five night stay we enjoyed separate day trips by car to Seville and to the Mediterranean coast near Marbella. Rhonda is less than half an hour. Michael and Lynda were always available by email in the months leading up to our visit as was the house manager, Isabel, during our stay. The dining in town was exceptional, particularly La Casita, just a few doors from Michael and Lynda's beautiful house. We highly recommend the Village House and hope to return soon.

We had an excellent week long holiday in Montejaque. The house exceeded our expectations, it was immaculately clean, well equipped and very spacious. The Master bedroom has fantastic panoramic views to the mountains through the French doors.
The Italian/International fusion restaurant "La Casita" is highly recommended (less than 2 minutes away) and booking advised. A few of the other local Bar/restaurants are also worth a visit, good home made local produce and entertainingly welcoming.
This is a perfect base to explore the mountains and numerous deserted walking/cycling trails in the northern Andalusia area. Nearby, Ronda gets very "touristy" however, it's worth a half day visit.

Accepting that in February/March the weather will be mixed, we were pleasantly surprised. On rainy days the property was suitably cosy with the log fire / internet connection and on sunny days the terrace areas were perfect. The village of Montejaque was relatively well served with the small supermarkets and bars / restaurants while the surrounding area was everything we hoped, with excellent walking routes and ample villages/towns for visiting if necessary. Thank you for all your help in preparing for our trip and during our visit. Much appreciated.

The house is spacious and tastefully furnished. The terrace invites for breakfast outside under the olive tree, the living room is cozy and perfect for chilly evenings. The kitchen is super well-equipped and cooking is real fun - with mountain view! We used the barbecue outside a lot to prepare all the delicious spanish vegetables, fish and meat. The master bedroom offers a stunning view over the mountains! The service with fresh towels and sheets was perfect and the climate in late October still felt a bit like California... We enjoyed staying there a lot and hope to come back for another holiday!
This is a beautiful house, tastefully decorated, within easy reach of Montejaque's village square and only twenty minutes by car from Ronda. The master bedroom offers a spectacular view of the mountains. It's like looking at a landscape painting. The small terrace adjoining the bedroom is a terrific place to star gaze or to look out for the wildlife occasionally to be seen silhouetted on the surrounding peaks. The main terrace is ideal for eating al fresco or simply for reading in the shade. The kitchen is excellent, spacious, with washing machine, dish washer, large fridge and a good cooker. We really felt we had found a gem. We were two adults and two children so two bathrooms and showers made for real comfort. The owners were helpful from the outset, sending information about restaurants and other amenities, while the local agents were friendly, unobtrusive and happy to help with any queries. The owners are clearly gardeners: the main terrace has some fine foliage and plants, not to mention a wonderful tree. The place simply felt spacious, clean and welcoming. There is a wealth of information and reading material, ample cutlery and crockery etc. I cannot recommend it highly enough and do hope we can find a way to stay there again. Top marks.
