Truly the best rental we’ve ever had!

We’re a small tree planting company and have stayed at tons of rentals over the years — Kurt’s place is hands down the best we’ve ever been to. The concrete floors, vaulted ceilings, quirky decor, and that incredible view all made it one of a kind. Great for a group

Lots of room in this house for our hockey camp attending group. Host was very friendly and accommodating. The house was not as clean as expected and has a lived in feel, but for our large group with kids that was easy to over look. Gorgeous views from the house looking down onto Penticton and lake Okanagan.

Worth the climb!

Kurt’s home is incredible, quiet and idyllic set atop the mountains overlooking Penticton and the Okanagan Valley. We were 11 people - 2 adult couples and our 7 kids - and had plenty of space to spread out and make ourselves comfortable. It’s a bit of a drive up (about 12 mins from the Penticton Hospital) but oh so worth it. Great games loft (with extra beds), spacious kitchen/dining/lounging quarters, an awesome deck and hot tub. Tons of linens and frankly we probably could have easily fit 4 more people. 15-30 mins to good beaches (Penticton & OK Falls), 40 mins to wine country (Oliver), 1 hour to Osoyoos (Rattlesnake amusement park), Kelowna, and Myra Canyon rail trail (via the backroads over the mountain - 4WD mandatory). Kurt himself is a gracious, laid-back host who made us feel welcome and never imposed. We will be back!

Beautiful view and quiet

If you want peace and quiet and a beautiful view, this is the place. It’s quite a drive up the hill but it is beautiful. There is no air conditioning but the place cools off really well in the evening, and it was pleasant during the heat of the day (30+ degrees celsius when we stayed). Plenty of space to spread out, and well appointed bed rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and Kurt is a wonderful host.

Amazing property and great host!

This is a gorgeous property set far enough away from Penticton for us to enjoy a feeling of being away from urban noise, yet close enough to pop down and stroll the farmer's market and go wine tasting when we wanted to. The house and views are stunning and we had more than enough space for 6 adults and two kids (8 & 10) to play, relax, and prepare big meals. We could ride to biking trails from the property, or a short drive to hiking trails, and the kids enjoyed just exploring on the property. Kurt was very easy to communicate with and we appreciate his patience answering our questions! Couldn't have asked for a better weekend and we will definitely look out for this property again in the future.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Das ist ist sehr großzĂŒgig und hat oben vom Berg eine super Aussicht auf die beiden Seen und Penticton. Wir waren mit 9 Mann da und es war immer noch ausreichend Platz fĂŒr alle. Ein super Startpunkt, um in alle Richtungen die Gegend zu erkunden mit zahlreichen Weinrouten in der NĂ€he. Absolut zu empfehlen. Micha

This property offered us everything our group was looking for, it offers a combination of privacy + proximity to the city, a large but intimate house, and the right amenities to make for a special stay. Kurt is warm and responsive and made the stay just what we were looking for!

Great Getaway for friends & family

We really enjoyed our stay! Kurt was awesome. We’ve been to Penticton several times and enjoyed being able to stay in our own little Oasis. If you’re a cyclist and enjoy finishing your ride with a challenge, the Carmi climb is epic! Nice spot!

Great family getaway home

Two young families (four adults, four kids aged 11months - 6 years) stayed here for the week. It was lovely and quiet and the views were incredible. The house was super family friendly with kids toys and plates etc on site, lots of spaces for playpens, convenient access to Netflix etc and an absolutely stunning wrap around deck that was great for the adults to spend the evenings while the kids were trying to fall asleep. The house is listed as having A/C and we were a bit apprehensive when we got there and it didn't, however the owner assured us that the house stayed fairly cool during the day and despite it being 35° outside, the inside stayed very reasonable. Kurt was very friendly. He stays in a different part of the property and came by a few times to make sure we had everything we needed, and even offered to bring his pet bunnies around for our kids to pet. He was by far the most welcoming host we've ever experienced. Would definitely stay here again.

Thanksgiving in penticton

Lovely property. Kurt was a wonderful host and responded quickly to any of our inquiries. He provided special experiences for the kids. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The hot tub was great with spectacular views. Lots of hiking and biking accessible directly from the property.

Amazing overall experience

We could not have asked for a better experience. The house was amazing and Kurt is a wonderful host. He even had snacks waiting for us when we arrived since he knew we had been on the road for a while. The house was perfect for what we needed and very clean. Everything we needed was provided and then some! Kurt went out of his way to help us and make sure we had what we needed. We would stay here again for sure!

Incredible Getaway with an Epic View

The road just climbs and climbs, and then finally we come to this beautiful home overlooking Penticton and the Okanagan Valley. We were awe struck on arrival. The home is large and was the perfect location for our group of 9 (beds for 11). Kurt was the perfect host, gave us all the important information we needed on arrival and a way to contact him for anything else should we need it. We shared this amazing home with another family while in town for our daughters wedding and it was just simply perfect for our needs.,,,just wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful Vacation Property

We had a great time staying in this vacation property in Penticton. The views were AMAZING! It was nice to be a bit outside the city and all of the hubbub. Kurt was a great host, he had everything we needed and assisted us when we necessary. The pool table was great! The kids had a blast playing against each other and learning the game of pool. The house was very spacious and the property was fantastic. Thanks Kurt!

Quiet Retreat above Penticton

We booked this lovely home above Penticton for a week this summer. Beautiful views from the gorgeous front deck with a hot tub. A short trip down the hill and you are right in Penticton. Perfect for day trips to wineries along the Naramata Bench only 15 minutes away. We enjoyed be up away from the city listening to a symphony of crickets at night. It was nice to meet Kurt and visit with his horse Dooley. Lots of great walking trails around the property. The wildlife was incredible so many deer and big horn sheep right out your front door. Incredible experience. Thanks for being such a great host Kurt!

Stay enjoyed by all!

We had an awesome week in Penticton. This house was perfect for our family. Kurt and his girlfriend were very friendly & easy going. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, better than any other rental we have stayed at. The loft which had a bar, pool table and other games was perfect for our young adult children. Sitting outside on the deck in the evening was so nice and quiet. Kurt's horse would come out and graze by the house in the evening which the kids loved. The distance into town is about 13 minutes but the views there and back are amazing!

Great space for groups and families

Great communication with the landowner, Kurt was very responsive before and during our stay. The property and home were very clean and spacious which was great for larger groups. There were also a lot of thoughtful touches including basic cooking supplies, games, and lots of toys for kids. The only downfall was the distance into town, but we knew that when we booked. Overall, great stay!

Amazing property, short drive from Penticton (15-20 minutes)

We had an amazing stay at this property. The place is very private and the owner was very helpful. He stayed on site in a trailer and was able to help whenever we needed. The only item I would note was that the listing said it had A/C but it did not. However, we stayed when it was 40 degrees in Penticton and the place kept cool very well as long as we opened windows in the morning and closed blinds facing west in the afternoon. The place was fully stocked with supplies to cook almost anything and we could easily host a big event. We had family members over (25 people total) and were able to have a bbq with serving trays available to keep all of the food warm, bowls for all of the salads and sides and more than enough room for everyone. We had music playing loud until 12am without any issues from the owner or neighbors. Overall, we loved the view and how quiet the place was. Would 100% recommend this place and would love to stay again in the future.

Our stay here was great, house and views are gorgeous. Everything we needed for our stay was readily available, Kurt was super helpful with all our requests. Drive up to the house is a bit of a hike from town but the views and house are worth it! Went quaking and dirt biking up to the mountain lakes and trail, super fun.

Great place!

We really enjoyed staying here. The views are amazing and the deer came right up to the deck. Kurt was awesome to deal with! He even installed a misting system on the deck just before we arrived to cool us down during record breaking heat.

Perfect Getaway!

My friends and I had an amazing stay! The house and views of the valley were better than advertised and it was the perfect place to relax and get away before my wedding day. Gorgeous home and wonderful owner!

This property is stunning. I stayed with my family for a wedding in Summerland. The views are beautiful, Kurt is wonderful and very helpful! Incredibly relaxing, a great space for entertaining and well stocked rental. We saw deer and big horn sheep on the property. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable. A bit farther from town but that’s exactly what we wanted. We hope to stay again one day!!

Get away from it all

Kurt was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had. The home is beautiful and the remote location makes it a great place to enjoy family, cooking meals, bbqs and quiet time enjoying the view. The sunsets last for hours! The accessibility to the massive deck is a treat and no mosquitoes :). Rooms are nicely laid out. Master could use one more dresser as there is no closet. Our teens loved the loft upstairs! And the pool table was fun for all in the evening! Our friends came up for a few nights with their RV and they were able to hook up next to the house. If you’re into car racing - the Penticton Speedway is just down the road. The road up the hill is bit of a drive (although only 10 mins) if you don’t like windy roads it may not be for you. I rather enjoyed it but don’t forget the milk! The driveway is a little sketchy - fairly steep gravel - so you may not want to try if you have a low clearance vehicle. All in all - great week of family fun. Close enough to wineries and Penticton but far enough to enjoy serenity.

Penticton Wedding

This was a beautiful property up in the hills above Penticton. Our son and his fiancé were married in a small ceremony with 18 in attendance. It was beautiful there. It's a bit of a drive up the hill from Penticton. (20 minutes and 3 switchbacks) but once you get there it is wonderful. Deck is amazing. We would recommend it for family gatherings. Owner was very accommodating and is available if needed. Owner stays in a camper about 100 feet from the house.

Perched over Penticton

The house is huge and beautiful, without being pretentious. We never had to worry about our dogs scratching the floor. In fact we just left the doors open and they were in and out the whole time. The teens loved the loft space, and did not mind the open space noise from our adult-early mornings. Each moment of each day brought newly spectacular views of the valley and skies above. The hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a ride on the nearby mountain bike trails. Going to town is a bit of a commitment on the long windy road, but not so much we avoided it. Strongly recommend for large groups, even with teens. We would choose this again if we are ever back in Penticton.

A spectacular location

This was a fantastic getaway. The sunsets were surreal, as were the close views of local wildlife. This property was perfect for hosting a large gathering of extended family during a special trip to the Okanagan. We even had an unexpected private viewing of the Snowbird stunt planes during Peach Fest!

Great Views!

We had a group of 8 stay for a week in July. Owner was friendly and responsive to questions before & during our stay. House had enough space for us all, and was well equipped. We spent so much time on the deck + hot tub and enjoying meals with amazing views. Property is close enough to town for supplies, but much quieter and a few degrees cooler than in Penticton. Some great hiking trails nearby, and of course the Naramata Bench wineries are within 20min. A great property to explore this region and would recommended for large families/groups that like it a bit quieter.
