My family of 8, three couples and two grown up kids, fit perfectly in this beach house! We loved that the rooms were spread out enough to give some space while still feeling very together. The kitchen had all the things we needed for cooking, which was super convenient! We loved the courtyard area in the middle, so cute! We quite enjoyed the beach access as well! The beach was rather steep to get to the water, so the older couple just enjoyed the view from the large patio! There are steps throughout the house which can be a hassle for those with walking difficulties, but overall would stay here time and time again! Thank yall for a great experience!
The location is great - on the beach, no rocks, easy to find. The house is nice, but needs some work. The center courtyard smelled horribly- like sewer gas - which traveled to other rooms of the house. Several of the lights in the living room and on the patio were burnt out. And the charcoal grill is in horrible condition with cracks in the bottom and didnât feel safe to use. We didnât run out of water, but weâre very concerned the whole time due to warnings that we could run out.
Overall was great. Did run out of water which we didnât understand. We got there after 5 no one took a shower only a few took a shower in morning and we were gone all day. When we got back spent the time on beach then those that didnât take a shower in the morning decided to take one and there was no water. However they refilled within 2 hours even thou it was after 5 . Did have my Mom of 93 so the steps were an issue. All in all it was great!
Upon booking this stay I sent a chat message through the VRBO app and received no reply. That shouldâve been my first hint that this wasnât going to go smoothly. I unknowingly get a non-VRBO email telling me to sign a Casago rental agreement?! I never got a personalized communication within the VRBO app explaining how this rental differs from typical VRBOs. Then I find out I have to meet someone at an office to sign more documents, and get my picture taken?! I never heard back from the chat message. The emails I eventually found were from multiple senders: âhelpdeskâ, âhomesâ, and âCasago Rocky Pointâ. No where in the email body did it say anything about needing to come to this office in order or pick up keys to your rental. It was listed in some attachment that they wanted me to sign?! Iâve always been able to go straight to the rental house and used a key code to get in in Europe and the U.S. THEN to top it off, they charge me a $20 âlate check-in feeâ. After sitting in stopped traffic for 3 Hours at the border they want to penalize me $20?! Never have I been charged a late CHECK IN. Now, upon arrival to the house we found there were no visible instructions for connecting to the wifi. Then we noticed there was no information to point guests to the nearest grocery/restaurants/hospital/pharmacy/etc. There was no instruction on connecting to the tv/cable/etc. Not enough utensils. The center courtyard smelled like sewer until we covered a grate with a mat. I could go onâŠ
We come to Rocky Point every year for Motherâs Day and loved this place. It had everything we needed. My only issue was that the direct tv had little to no channels, I was able to log into my Netflix so at least we had that. One TV in the rooms didnât have the power cord. But even with that we would definitely come back.
Accommodations were ok. There was no soap, towels, condiments, spices. Nothing extra, bare bones. Bring anything and everything you may need. Location was great! Would book again in same area, but probably different house.
Lovely place for a family vacation, right on the beach. Had just about everything except beach towels and beach chairs. Bring your own, youâll use them!
We had three couples come and stay. Everyone had their own bathroom which was a plus. Loved being right on the beach in the quiet neighborhood. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to whip up breakfasts, lunch and dinner.
Way too hot, AC did not work in the 2 of the 4 bedrooms and the living room and water was turned off. One 1 tv in the whole place. Smelt like moth balls.
First day we arrived smelled like gas but I thought it was mildew...i started getting super nauseated and when my son showed up he found the oven gas turned on-thank god he saw it or we could all have had a tragic ending--called after hours and was not able to get a hold of anyone.
Cockroaches.-GIANT, Big and Small...omg, not comfortable to go outside at night...and then in the master bath/bed room--so so many we closed off the room with a towel the last night after electricity went for couple hours--so so bad -just thinking what I slept with the nights prior--worse experience in 25 years staying in rocky point. So many more things...but if these don't stop you in your tracks well...not sure what would.
The views are incredible. The house is a little run down. Walking to and from the beach is difficult since itâs a steep drop from the patio down to the sand. There are no steps to walk down to the beach. The heater/coolers work intermittently. The kitchen is well equipped. No garbage disposal so washing dishes is a pain. The sliding doors are quite rusty and hard to slide. The beds are small! The master with a view feels like a full sized bed. The shower is small. The furniture is dated. There arenât any weird smells, but it feels musty. I like the clean smells like chlorine or some lemony scent. Weird steps behind the kitchen island so be careful not to fall! It is located to general beach access so there is constant foot traffic. The house needs a lot of work and updating. The master bathroom has a sewage smell. Be prepared to pay an additional pricey deposit upon picking up the keys even though you already paid for the insurance, which doesnât make sense. Overall, we wouldnât book this rental again and we wouldnât recommend it to friends either. Itâs rundown and wonât feel too comfortable. There was a for sale sign, perhaps this is why theyâre not willing to update?
House was very clean at eye level. Very dusty above that. Should have told us when booking that it had mutable steps around the whole house. Trip hazard coming into a dark house. Steps not marked good enough. Other than that our stay was wonderful beds where comfortable and clean. Plenty of hot water. Close to the beach as stated. We would rent this place again.
The house is amazing. A few things that people need to know though. The fireplace in the living area isnât a wood burning fireplace. Itâs gas which doesnât work. Rocky point was very cold and windy and would have been nice to use that. There is no check in or check out packet for people to use at the house. We had no idea how to use the heaters, the oven wouldnât work we had to call maintenance to help assist. The sliding glass door was broken very hard to open and close even after maintenance came it wasnât fixed. Thereâs no cord for the kids room TV. The plumbing in the front bedroom was leaking and had a horrible chemical smell to the room. There is zero water pressure in the kitchen. Like drizzles out I know Mexico is t great with water pressure what this was super bad. Iâm pretty sure the sheets were not changed, the pillows smelt like dirty head so we used our own. Itâs unfortunate because the house is truly beautiful and set up so amazing. They just need to maintain the property if they are going to charge what they are charging. Lots and lots of fixes that need to be done. Overall a nice stay.
Sea of Cortez was warm and produced sea shells of various sizes. Not your typical sea shell you find on beaches. The house beautiful and we used the heaters in various rooms depending where rooms were located in the house. The home next to us was being renovated and unfortunately we had construction all days we were there. This information should have been shared at time of reservations and we could have selected a different rental. But we had a great time otherwise.
