We spent three nights at Kiskadee Casa. The environment is peaceful. The wildlife is impressive. We saw monkeys, agouti, falcon, frogs, lizards, hummingbirds, iguana and moreâŠThe house was perfect for us (two couples). We recommend.
Really loved this place. The monkeys greeted us our first day and sent us off our morning we left. Only challenges are: I do think it should be stated in the description that 1 bedroom/1bathroom is located downstairs with a separate entrance. It is not part of the general living area so that was unexpected to have someone have to go outside and downstairs to go to their room. But the jungle, pool, house and adventures were AMAZING!!
My family and I stayed here for 3-nights in the Manuel Antonio area. Johan, the host/manager was super helpful and responsive. The house was comfortable, clean, well appointed, quiet and in a very charming, safe vacation home community with 24 hour gated security. The location a short distance to Manuel Antonio was ideal. Highlights for our family were for sure swimming in the pool which felt like you were swimming in the tree tops. Very serene. The views of the mountains in the distance were also stunning. And getting to watch the capuchin monkeys scramble around the trees was a family favorite. The house was comfortable, but an airconditioning unit in the living room would have helped a bit. Also, this is less about the house and more a practical tip about CR in general. Try to get where you are going before nightfall (5:45). Even though you are in a neighborhood the property is nestled into a steep set of hills, and like most areas in CR lighting is limited. Arriving after dark can present some challenges, but Johan was responsive and helpful.
We will be back!! Perfect location for all our day trips. We felt like we were in a tree house. We used the pool everyday. We saw monkeys, iguanas, and plenty of birds. The house had everything we needed.
This house is a great value! The location is great with many types of wildlife experienced while sitting on the back porch. You are within walking distance of the city of Quepos, but beware of the massive hill that you have to climb to return home. My only complaint would be that there is really no where to lounge around the pool. There was only a chair and table with no where to stretch out and enjoy the poolside. An upgrade to the patio furniture would be nice as well. There is so much to see from the porch, but not great seating out there. Overall, we loved this place and had a great 10 days in Costa Rica! Thanks for sharing your home!
This beautiful house and location exceeded our expectations! The first morning, 4 or 5 monkeys visited us on the balcony... just passed by on the railing as if on their morning commute :). The jungle sounds were amazing, like an ongoing symphony. Johan (the property manager) was very responsive. When we discovered the bbq propane tank was empty, he replaced it asap. We had a rental car, so didn't have to worry about walking up the lane, which isn't for the faint of heart! One warning would be that if you have a toddler you have to be very vigilant when outdoors, even on the balcony. As you can see in the pictures, the railing is open between slats. We could only let our grandson play freely indoors. Close to many parks, beaches and excursions. We had a wonderful time!
We absolutely loved our time at Kiskadee Casa and would highly recommend it! We stayed three nights and during that time saw lots of wildlife from the patios and pool deck. We saw 20 squirrel monkeys, 5 white-throated capuchin monkeys, 8 scarlet macaws, 3 toucans, 3 hummingbirds, 2 gladiator tree frogs, 1 agouti, 1 laughing falcon, 1 green and black dart frog as well as several geckos and blue morpho butterflies. In addition to seeing all this wildlife, we also heard howler monkeys and many other beautiful birdsongs from toucans, greenlets, doves, wrens, antbirds, flycatchers, and of course, kiskadees! We used a bird calling app to identify the birdsongs. Monkey prime time is between 3-5 pm. We didnât end up visiting Manuel Antonio National Park, but I suppose if you wanted to see sloths, that would be the one animal that you are more likely to see there than at Kiskadee Casa. If you're lucky, you may meet the landscaper Patricia who is really passionate about her work and may point out the many different types of trees on the property including papaya, breadfruit, pineapple, coffee, and cacao. The road up to this house was quite steep. We did rent an SUV which was helpful, but not necessary. Because the setting was so high, you are up amongst the treetops, making this home feel like a treehouse. If you are fortunate enough to find plan a trip to Manuel Antonio, and Kiskadee Casa is available, book it before somebody else does.
I am a very, very, very careful about where we stay every winter vacation. VERY PICKY! This experience was 5 stars all the way.---- If you are going to vacation in the Manuel/Quepos area- GO HERE!!!!!!!!! Awesome! Stop looking and wasting your time- this place is top notch! And the animals and birds put on a show every day in the yard. (best time to see the monkeys 2-6 pm daily...........Howlers, White Face, Squirrel----look up in those trees...........
The property was adequate since we were not spending much time at the property. I do feel the listing should be updated to be very clear that the downstairs room is not able to be accessed via the rest of the house without going outside. I did not really love having my two children have to stay down there alone. We could not find a remote for the tv and could not get it to come on the whole stay. The upstairs shower did not have any soap in the dispensers. The upstairs master bedroom needs new pillows. They are so flat itâs like laying on a bare mattress. The location is amazing and we enjoyed the porch and listening to the sounds of nature.
Location was great-as described. Difficult to find at night. This wasnât our plan but terrible traffic delays on our way from Liberia airport! Great wildlife, however, construction next door was from 6:30 am to 5pm everyday. We left for various adventures but the noise was distracting from the peaceful surroundings. Overall it was a great experience. We did wish there were more specific details about the stove, tv and places in the area. We like to explore but traffic and parking is an issue. Itâs been 10 years since we visited Quepos and itâs really gotten much bigger! We did have to contact the owner about the washer and he was quick to respond and get it fixed. Very appreciative of the prompt repliesđ
We loved being in the Jungle of Manuel Antonio in a lovely "tree house" type living. Lots of windows and decks to enjoy the abundant wildlife and fauna. We decided to get private transportation from the airport directly to the house. It's about 3 1/2 hours. Then we walked everywhere in Quepos and used the $1 a ride bus for the area. And all of the activities that we did had pick up at the gate of the neighborhood included in the price, so it was perfect for us. The driveway is very steep, but we looked at it as a challenge for we three 60 and over women. We've already booked for next year.
The house was awesome. Check in/out was very easy, and there was a very fast response to any questions I had throughout the stay. I don't think you can beat the views, we had breakfast on the porch every morning and just enjoyed looking out into the jungle/valley. It is in a very convenient location which made getting to the various actives we booked pretty easily. Most were under a half hour drive. Its only 5-10 mins to some shops for groceries, restaurants and souvenirs. The pool was very relaxing and nice to get into after getting back from the days adventure. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to say in the Manual Antonio/Quepos area.
We saw howler monkeys, capuchins, agoutis, toucans and macaws. Home was clean and caretakers were very friendly. There is a small error in listing that wasnât a problem for us. There are 2 full baths-1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. The listing mentions 2 additional half baths. The downstairs unit can be rented separately and is not connected internally to upstairs.
If you need place to stay in Quepos, look no further. This house is perfect. It has everything you need. My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our time in Quepos, always staying busy - what a pleasure it was to come back to this home at the end of the day. It was so cool, clean, spacious, open and comfortable. The outside deck is huge and we enjoyed our coffee on it in the mornings with the monkeys. In the late afternoons, we spent our time at the pool and on the deck listening to all the sounds of the birds. The kitchen has the all the basics of what you need for meal preparation and cooking. The hill leading up the home is quite a steep drive so be aware of that. When we felt like walking in town, we would drive the car down to the bottom of the hill and park by the main office and then walk all over town. The house is so close to the town, yet far enough up the hill where you are "secluded" and it is extremely peaceful and quiet. Brendon is very helpful in answering all questions and answers immediately. If returning to Quepos, I would absolutely rent again.
We spent three nights at Kiskadee Casa. It was perfect. The wildlife is amazing. We saw: monkeys, agouti, spiders, lizards, frogs, a lot of different birds including falcons. The communication with the owner and the property manager was perfect. Without hesitation, we recommend.
We loved the location and the view! Right in the rain forest with monkeys visiting us. Three babies and their mom. 10 minutes from everywhere we wanted to go. Excellent communication!
We just returned home from our 5 week stay at Casa Kaskadee! Our stay was a nature lovers delight! We would get up early sit out on the deck and watch for something exciting to show up. It could be macaws, monkeys, various bird sitings or howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys and then the capuchin with their entertaining antics and wonât spoil the fun by telling more. We got to know the caretakers and all were wonderful! We would walk into the town and the people were all very friendly and proud of their Costa Rican heritage! I encourage a visit to see for yourself! Pure Vida!!!!!
Weâre on our final day at Kiskadee Casa and I donât even know how to begin explaining how amazing it is here. As I write this Iâm watching a sloth and a large iguana climb trees right next to the house, amazing sight! We were hoping to see a white faced capuchin monkey while staying here and we got so much more. Every day a family of capuchin or squirrel monkeys visited us on the porch, sometimes both in a day. They love the hammock swings on the porch and are so much fun to watch. We saw howler monkeys, agouti, 3 colors of hummingbirds, blue morpho butterflies, toucans, scarlet macaws, lots of small lizards, and so many monkeys. The house itself is beautiful and comfortable, with large windows and an amazing view. The pool is great after a hot day of sightseeing and feels like youâre swimming in the jungle. We have loved every minute of our time here and will definitely come back one day.
This is a very cool and unique property.
The owner and caretaker were responsive. Lots of wildlife and privacy. Close to the national park. I wouldnât hesitate to stay here again. The house was very comfortable with individual air conditioning units in the rooms. The kitchen was well stocked.
Beautiful home located in a quiet gated neighborhood in the Manuel Antonio/Quepos area. Cozy/comfortable home that had an authentic Cost Rican feel! House sits atop a hill and tucked away in the jungle. Peaceful/quiet area away from the busy-ness of Quepos/Man. Ant., great pool. Beautiful patio where we could watch/listen to the jungle and we were fortunate to be visited by a groups of squirrel monkeys! One thing to consider for sleeping arrangementsâŠThe downstairs (ground floor) bedroom/bath is separate from main home(2nd floor) but convenient to pool/carport area. However, our kids didnât want to sleep down there so parents slept there and kids stayed in main house bedrooms upstairsâŠworked out fine for our family of 5 just something to consider depending upon the group. Would definitely recommend this home and we would stay here again!
Had lots of monkeys as a welcoming party! Saw more here than in Antonio Manuel. Also saw some macaws, and the rainforest setting was really awesome. Loved the pool too. Great to have the laundry to catch up on cleaning clothes for my family of 6, also kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Drove down to play at Catarata Uvita and saw a sloth.
