Beautiful cottage and property. Our family enjoyed playing in the yard, walking along the estuary, eating blackberries, and looking at the wildlife and wildflowers. The home was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed grilling each night and playing games and doing puzzles. It was refreshing not to have cell service or internet and helped us focus on family time. The location was near the beach and several lakes; perfect for many activities. We would love to stay again!
Comfy, cozy and so quiet. We loved it here. Sharon is so friendly and our pup got to meet her new pup. Doggy paradise. The home is clean and had everything we needed. The front porch is the best! Sharon and her family take great care of the place and the yard. Freshly cut brush on the road made for easy pickings of fresh blackberries. Definitely hope to come back!
What a beautiful little house nestled in the forest just off the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as we read, watched movies, and played games.
Sharon was awesome as she kept me informed and accommodated our late arrival. The house was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of supplies for cooking, watching movies, and games. It took a little used to being off line but my buddy was able to get one bar of cell reception with T-Mobile. We only used it to look up places to hike and visit. Truly a relaxing experience to forget about the craziness of the world. Highly recommended.
Loved the location of this cozy cottage. Off the beaten path. Birds and otters that live on and around the estuary were in abundance. A wood burning stove took the chill off cool nights. Wood was provided. Very well equipped kitchen, linens, and bedding. Comfy beds. We were able to bring our dogs and dog beds, water bowl, and a ball were provided! Reedsport and beaches an easy drive away. No Internet but it was nice to not have the distraction. A good selection of DVDs were available.
This was perfect for my adult daughter & I to spend time together. It was close to the beach and several nice parks & hikes, so those things were there when we wanted them, and when we didn't, we had a beautiful place to spend time that felt far away from everything.
The property was well cared for with everything we needed and the best part was not having cell service! This made family time easy as we didnât have distractions. This cottage was also close to the dunes, the beach and town. Lovely place! We would stay again! Thank you Sharon!
The Cattail Cottage is a very comfortable and quiet little house. It's nestled in the coastal woods of Reedsport, Oregon. The flowers and yard was very nice and the deer and bunnies visited the yard. The inside decor was handcrafted from myrtlewood and very beautiful. We had a great stay and on our next trip to Reedsport we will try to stay at the Cottage.
We had such an amazing and relaxing time at this cottage. The property is beautiful as well as the cottage itself. The many pieces of wood art along with the beautiful quilts made this place unique. It was well thought out and definitely cozy. We really wanted a place to get away from the heat and let our dogs run. This place was perfect. The temperature was moderate and the many shade trees made it even cooler. It is close to the beach, but far enough away that we did not get the heavy fog and winds that are common on the coast in that area. Even though you are only a a few miles from Reedsport central, it feels very remote and is private (one neighbor close by). We would definitely recommend this place for anyone that wants to relax.
We spent 18 nights at the Cozy Cattail Cottage in June and July to get away from fireworks. We had some fireworks noise but it was pretty distant and lasted a reasonable amount of time, unlike at home.
The property is beautiful with lots of trees and Hudson Slough. It is on a private road so there so there was really no traffic at all. We were the only renters on the property for the duration of our stay.
The interior was a slightly different than the pictures. The futon was replaced by a larger comfortable couch, the TV was mounted to the wall, some of the tables were different, the Bose sound system had been moved to the living room, and there was a cabinet at the end of the hallway that held books and games. CDs were located on the chest next to the sound system and DVDs were located on the table under the TV in the living room.
The living room furniture was very comfortable and covered with pet covers since we had a dog. There was a dog bed and a bowl for water left out for our dog. This felt like a truly pet-friendly home.
The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to make a meal, minus the ingredients of course. There were some spices, teas, and coffee. There was plenty of counter space and lots of cabinet space for cans, boxes, etc. of food items we brought or bought.
The bathroom had a shower/tub combo plus a large medicine cabinet and drawers in the cabinet for storing items.
Both bedrooms had very comfortable beds and plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases.
The washer and dryer were the best I've ever used. Large enough to wash anything we needed to wash.
The garage was where the trash and recycling cans were located plus the charcoal grill, life vests, fishing pulls, and a crab pot.
The main noises we heard during the day were birds, the wind, and animals moving in the forest around the house. At night, it was owls and animals moving around. We had an owl land in the yard one day, a hummingbird that liked to stop by to catch bugs, and deer visited the yard a lot.
Our dog loved exploring the property, swimming at high tide, and going out on the forest service roads to explore. If you do travel with a dog, look into using a Seresto Flea and Tick Collar due to the deer on the property even if you use another form of flea and tick med.
We have stayed in several vacation homes in the last 13 years and this was our favorite. Our dog loved it so much, she didn't want to leave which was a first.
This property was secluded, quiet, and cozy. We took the canoe out on the slough and just had a grand time. On cool evenings we had a fire in the wood stove. We definitely want to come back.
Very nice home, custom wood work is beautiful. Peaceful and remote.

Cozy Cattail Cottage is in a beautiful location. It's remote. It's quiet. No cable, no WiFi, no cell phone service. Just peaceful. This was a return trip for us. The owner is easy to work with and very pleasant. Our home is less than three hours away so coming to the Reedsport area isn't far but still feels like we've gotten away from it all!
Had a wonderful stay at this quiet remote property. Beautiful property in a secluded corner with nice yard to play with the dog.
The property owner was wonderful to work with for the rental and her wood gallery in town is amazing. So many cool pieces to look at.
The short drive from reedsport to Winchester bay is worth the quiet comfortable place to stay.
I highly recommend this property!

This place really is like a little slice of heaven. The property is beautiful and quiet, while the cottage has all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and appliances.
This property is the perfect place for peace and quiet. Off the beaten path surrounded by nature. The cottage is filled with beautiful artwork from the Gallery and although it is a little dated it is comfortable and private. There are 3 other houses in the general vincinity but not once did we notice anyone there. Lots of rugged outdoor activities in the area or you can just hang out at the cottage and enjoy the quiet and peace.
Great location-secluded but not far from rivers, beaches and other activities on the Coast. Instead of phones and tablets, we played games and talked. The cottage was lovely and well equipped for all our needs.
Would highly recommend

Absolutely loved staying here, so much so that I am already looking to see if I can book for next year at the same time. Not only is the area stunning, but the house is cozy and quiet. So often I stay in rental homes and it is clear the owners have not really thought about what it is like to live in the rental--i.e. the beds are uncomfortable, the can opener doesn't work, the toilet makes weird noises at night--but these owners are clearly engaged and sensitive to providing a great experience for their guests. The beds are super comfortable--one is memory foam, the other is a superior mattress (no springs)-- the oven is large so if you have to cook for 6 people it can hold all of your dishes, there is heating in every room, and the freezer has several ice trays. I know these may seem odd to point out, but attention to detail in owners is key for those of us who stay for long periods of time.
There is no wifi, which is a plus. There is not even the temptation to turn on your phone and we found ourselves napping and exploring the beautiful area instead.
I brought my dog, and again the area was perfect for her. There are two very large grassy areas for her to run, play, take care of business on. The majority of the furniture was low and pet proofed, so easy for an older pet to hop on and get comfortable. The owner also kindly provided a dog bed for laying by the woodburner and several towels for wiping off muddy paws.
Have to add that the cottage is nicely situated between Dune parks and beautiful places to visit on the Oregon Coast.
loved the cabin warm and cozy in November perfect thanksgiving retreat with family.
close to reedsport stores and food, easy drive to dunes and sights.
