Access to the property is difficult - it's 307 steps down from the street above, or 750 (or so) from the street below. From above, there is a series of 3 stair lifts that are very slow and a bit finicky to operate. They do not cover all the steps either, so you must go up/down some steps during your stay. That said - once you are there, it is a very nice villa and great place to relax. We were there with 17 people - the more senior of the group just stayed in the villa most of the time to enjoy the views and pool. The rest of the group braved the stairs - it was a fairly easy walk to town if you'r fit, and very easy to catch a taxi back to the villa to avoid the steps back.
Management was very responsive throughout the stay, whether we needed more groceries delivered, or food orders from their restaurant (which was very good and very reasonably priced). Someone checked in on us daily to make sure supplies were stocked or to bring us fresh fruits. They were also very good with recommending excursions or arranging transportation to/from Rome, Naples, Pompeii, etc.
Things that could have been improved for this this needy group:
1) More ice available when we arrived
2) More shampoo and soap for bathrooms
3) Pool water was very acidic and needed to be balanced (but it is such a nice pool!)
4) TV in main room was not working
5) How about some workout equipment since Amalfi roads are treacherous to run on?
6) Eventual upgrade to the stair lifts ;)
I miss the villa already and wish I was back there now. I would definitely stay again if that's an indication of the review.
