"It's an old lodge and that should be taken into account - meaning it's not new. Water pressure is low, mattresses soft - but these aren't detractors. The staff was young, and inexperienced. We had to have our room cards reprogrammed three times during a two night stay. It's also worth noting that it's not accommodating for handicapped people. My mother uses a walker, and despite being in a ground floor-room, she had to negotiate 3 steep stairs to reach or leave her room. In addition, to get to the back lawn - which is where you want to be - there was no ramp, so she had to go around the entire lodge building to reach the lawn, which was a big deal for her. The restaurant was excellent, but expensive. Breakfast was basically $25pp., $5 pp for coffee and though we had Keurig coffee in the room, when we asked for fresh pods after our first night we were told by the front desk they were out. While I understand everything is trucked in a considerable distance, the prices were on par to Seattle which seemed extreme. For my wife and I - we're fit and mobile - we really enjoyed our experience there."

You have access to the lake for swimming and/or lauchning your kayak (2 are on-site). Around there you can visit many things like the quinault rain forrest and the beaches on the pacific coast. Bring food stuff with you - the small convenience stores around the lake have a few things but it is better you bring your fresh produce with you for the time you plan to stay there (as you would expect there is a big fridge in the kitchen).Overall, our stay was quite an experience, the house is so beautiful and the surrounding is very unique! "
