Städtereisen Angola on the Lake

My family and I stayed here for one night. My review is mixed. First off, the property is beautiful, and 1890's old stately home with gorgeous interiors, a beautiful porch, and stunning front garden. When we stepped inside we expected to see the Dowager Countess from Downton Abbey perched in the front parlor awaiting for you to have tea. That's where the enchantment ended. Breakfast is not served on weekdays. The Hotels.com listing does not disclose that, but the Inn's direct website does. Our room was ok, we expected a pull out sofa bed and instead had an air mattress for our kids that kept deflating. All of the electrical outlets were occupied by either power strips or janky extension cords that are a fire hazard. One extension cord to a power strip had bare wires because the cord was damaged, and it had a portable air conditioner plugged into it. It was very difficult to find an outlet for charging our devices. Bathroom in the Signature Suite was woefully out of date - had chipped floor tile, I kept tripping on the marble threshold between the bedroom and bathroom, sink was chipped/stained, the toilet seat felt loose, and the lighting fixtures had mismatched color hue bulbs both in the bathroom and throughout the suite. We couldn't figure out how to turn off the light over the shower, and I noticed the shower curtain was stained from wear. This was not the kind of quality that I expected from a bed and no breakfast.

Went here for our 5 year anniversary! Close to town and the shops and restaurants! Very easy to check in and out and felt very safe and comfortable staying the night!
