Log Cabin Lounging
This very quaint log cabin is exactly as you see in the pictures. It gets very cold in the fall/winter, so bring extra layers and blankets. The gas fire place can be a bit tricky to get the right temperature. There are plenty of kitchen utensils to use including pots, pans, and dishware. The cabin is located in a convenient location near the lakeshore, a small store, and plenty of trails. The cabin sits in a quiet and secluded neighborhood. Cell service was not great, but there was strong wi-fi.

Rustic cabin but comfortable. The location is on the river as well as close to the lake and nearby attractions. For the price, it was well worth it.

Quiet Getaway Stay in Great Location
This small but quaint cabin had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. It was very quiet at night! Loved being in AuTrain. This was a great place to stay that allowed us to take day trips to Grand Marais and Munising, and to explore the surrounding area.

Au train river cabin
Perfect place for a small group of friends or family! Right off of the au train river which is perfect for kayaking or snorkeling and a good halfway point between Marquette and Munising. Great place to stay if your looking to do hiking around the area and an absolutely beautiful location!

Relaxing Stay
Great place to stay. Clean, nicely stocked linen, towels, and washclothes. A/C and heater works great. Nice river access. Perfectly located near hiking trails and waterfalls. Excellent location to Lake Superior for swimming.

Cabin with good location
Great spot for sightseeing. It was pretty cold when we stayed and the propane heater was nice but didn’t feel comfortable sleeping with it on so there were some COLD mornings until it warmed up again. Netflix didn’t work due to the sharing changing nationally that weekend. Small but good for two!

Peaceful getaway
It was a nice and quiet cabin right by all the hiking places we wanted to go see. Would love to come back and do the kayaking that’s all around. Lots to do all around the cabin and had a really great time.

A cozy cabin
My wife and I reserved this location for our anniversary and ended up having to bring our two young children. It was just the right size for us, because we didn't spent much time in the cabin. I think this location would be ideal for two people, but it can sleep more; I wouldn't say comfortably though. The cabin was clean and had a positive ambiance. I could tell the owners put deliberate TLC into improving the cabin. The facilities worked well, and the internet was a lot better than expected. The area it is in was a little bit busy with other cabins, but we rarely saw other people. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from Munising and it was really easy to find even after dark. I'd recommend going here and would consider it again in the future. Maybe next time without the kids. 😁

Picture Rocks trip
The pictures of the cabin are spot on. Lots of storage for your stuff. There wasn’t a view of river from this cabin but a short walk. The campfire site by the river is community but really feels like it belongs to sites on the river. We were about 30 min from Munising. Nice scenic drive plenty of road side spots to stop and dip your toes into the lake. We took advantage of canoeing down Autrain river. But be advised the yak shack doesn’t honor the free kayak or canoe as advertised in listing. After long conversation they did give us a 25.00 credit towards a canoe ( so we paid 20). Definitely worth it. It’s a slow winding river. Lots of spots to stop and have lunch. Will definitely consider coming back. But getting a cabin closer to the water.

We were not happy with our cabin. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, as was the furniture. The cabin was too rustic and small. We were not able to contact anyone, and we got a hotel.

Cute little cabin! Perfect for one or two people, but I don’t think I’d try to fit any more than that! A bit out of the way, but not far off a drive into Munising, an hour from Marquette, 30-60 minutes from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, depending on what end you start exploring from. Only issues I had with the property were that the coffee maker needed to be cleaned well before I made coffee (bugs floating on top of the water once the reservoir was filled) and the cloth futon really needs a cover (you could feel the dirt and grime on the cloth as soon as you touched it!). Other than that, it was an adorable little place, nice and quiet and private.

The rental was exactly what we thought it would be. It was clean,quite, and perfect.
The location to Pictured Rock is perfect. There was internet and Netflix. It was surrounded by other cabins but it felt secluded and private. We tired to fish but didn't catch anything. The price was better than a hotel.

Great Little Cabin
The Cabin it's self is a great little get away. Loved the fact that it was located right by the Au Train River and just about a 15 minute drive from Munising. If you are looking for a place that you can lay low and get awy from the busy world and just enjoy time in nature with either friends family or a significant other. This is a great place to be! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, affordable and enjoyable is my best way to describe it!

Nice but not exactly what I pictured
It was definitely a small one bedroom cabin and very clean. The bed was comfortable but the futon wasn’t. In the photo it looks like there are two bedrooms, but it’s definitely only one. It’s definitely not going to hold “up to 5 people “ very well at all! However, it was plenty big for a friend and I for a girls getaway. The kitchen was small but very functional. The bathroom had a nice shower and was actually very good sized. A little closet was perfect for storing our items. We didn’t spend a lot of time here as we spent most of our time exploring pictured Rocks and the waterfalls!

Quiet Retreat
Cabin location was very close to a creek, a small lake, and Lake Superior, as well as Hiawatha National Forest. We enjoyed the views and hiking along the waterways, the lakeshore and the trails of the woodlands. Cabin itself was cozy, and warm. Had crockpot available for making stew, or soup in the morning, to be ready when we finished our day. A plus!

A Quick Getway Before Winter Shut-in During COVID.
A most delightful experience. The Cabin is very cozy, quaint, clean and fairly well stocked. We enjoyed the Fall colors, kayaking nearby, visiting waterfalls, and especially the magnificent Pictured Rocks cruise. My only caveat is that the Cabin is not really on the water as I hoped and imagined. It's only a few feet away from the River, but you don't get that effect because of how it's situated among other houses. And the Riverfront and area surrounding the Cabin isn't especially interesting or attractive.

We never received any email from the owner with check in instructions. When we got there we had no idea that was unlocked and there is no one onsite to help. The cabin literally sits about 100ft off the many highway in the back yard of a privately owned home. I found tacos in the oven when I opened the door, who knows how long they had been in there! It has been a whole week and I still have not received my damage deposit refund. I would not recommend this particular cabin.

Very nice spot to stay, it is quite but there are lots of things to do near by. The cabin was clean and nice. It is an old log cabin so don't expect a Quality Inn, but it is very nice place to stay. I would definitely stay again.

Great location
Cute cottage in a great location to see so many of the UP attractions. Close to the au train beach, au train lake and right on the river. Despite the small size of the cottage, it had everything we needed and plenty of hot water for showers after a long day of hiking. I would stay here again!

Cosy little cabin
We had a nice stay at this cabin. It was very cosy and the location was perfect. It was quiet at night, next to the river and lake and for shopping/groceries you could go to nearby Munising. We enjoyed using the fully equipped kitchen and the grill for cooking. The cabin was clean and convenient. The pullout sofas in the living room were a bit uncomfortable but it felt a bit like camping so it didn't bother us that much. Good price/quality!

We loved this rustic cabin. The location was great being on the river and close to everything we wanted to do. We really appreciated the clean pillows and linens and towels. A rustic feel with modern amenities.
I grew up having a cottage with a hand pump for water and no modern toilet facilities. This cabin is old and a little slanted but has those amenities and brought back wonderful memories for me. Everyone at the yak shack was extremely helpful with the minor issues we had. We had a great vacation. Thank you Cory!
