Cabanes à Backbone Mountain

« We’ve been coming to Davis for a long time but this was our first time staying in Black Bear. The Bear Lair was perfect for our stay. Clean, well decorated, well equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds, and plenty of firewood. The central location was great as we bounced between Dolly Sods, Timberline, White Grass and downtown Davis. Abby was super responsive and accommodating. We definitely plan to return. »

« Probably one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. Clean, great location, peaceful, and the host even decorated for the holidays. The only iffy part of the experience was that the water left a bit of a residue, almost like the soap never fully rinsed off when washing your hands. Not really a complaint but if anyone else stays and experiences this know it’s likely just a water softener and not something gross or scary. »

« We loved the cabin!! We will be returning again! The host was awesome, responded very quickly anytime we needed something. Even had the cabin ready a little bit earlier than check in time. The cabin had everything we needed as well »

« Alpine Lake Manor was a great fall retreat! The house sits on the lake, so we got a great view of the geese, ducks, & a beautiful great blue heron, along wirh the autumn color-changing leaves! The house had some great antique finds such as a hand made/sewn notebook, a wonderful vase ala Frank Lloyd Wright, and a window shutter wall hanging of the Raven by Edgar Alan Poe. The listing states it has one bathroom and photos show two. In reality, there are three full bathrooms! All on rhe first...

« This house was lovely! The owner was personable and friendly, making the check-in and stay an easy and smooth process. The house was incredibly child friendly and dog friendly. The amenities in the house were exactly what we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend booking! My family is already talking about going back! »

« Overall the place was pretty great! We spent a lot of time in the hot tub, and coming in to get cozy next to the heater was lovely. Only complaint is that the kitchen is woefully under-equipped and small (not even a can opener!) »
