This is a hybrid set up in which there are no staff but the rooms look like regular hotel rooms. The positives: The location is excellent, as it's a quick walk into historic center and good restaurants and other sites just outside the center. The room was quiet and guests have free access to some snacks, juices, water, etc.
The downsides in our opinion might not be negatives to others, but I think some are important to note. It's complicated to get into the room -- we had three different codes for different parts of the process, from getting into the building itself, to getting into the facility foyer, and to getting into the room. The elevator to the 6th floor, where the rooms are, is quaint and old-fashioned, but it can barely fit more than one person with bags and is complicated to open and close easily with cumbersome baggage. I took the stairs a few times from the ground to the 6th floor but the stairwell is dark and gloomy.
The room itself is small and utilitarian, but had a comfortable bed; the bathroom was more generous. One thing I found puzzling was the poor quality of the towels provided to us. There was a large display of various sizes, but they all felt like sandpaper and were uncomfortable. They could have used several rounds of fabric softening. And one final small negative was the AC. It worked well (thankfully), but the AC fan is prominently placed on the wall opposite the bed and the temp display glowed so incredibly brightly all night.
