Si vous cherchez quelque chose hors des sentiers battus, vous avez trouvé! Out à la pointe nord de l'île du Cap-Breton, en Nouvelle-Écosse, le gîte est situé à Saint- Le village de Margaret, dans la baie Saint- Laurent. Du pont avant 8x28 pieds vous avez une, dégagée, vue panoramique sous-développés comme le soleil se couche dans l'océan. En saison, vous pourrez profiter du homard ou de crabe des neiges locale pris dans la baie en face de vous.

Non loin de la Cabot Trail, le gîte est une bonne base pour le golf au Highland Links à Ingonish (l'un des cours les meilleurs dans le monde), l'observation des baleines ou la pêche en haute mer de la jetée des pêcheurs à proximité ou de la randonnée dans les Highlands Festival . Parc national de Cape Breton Highlands est à seulement 10 miles de là, où il ya des sentiers de randonnée et autres activités de l'été. Nos points de la famille au moins une orignal et une ours dans ce parc chaque année! Ce est un plaisir pour les enfants!

Droit dans le village est un centre communautaire avec un accès Internet (ainsi que le ping-pong pour les enfants et un panier de basket). Il ya une épicerie locale avec toutes les bases. Tout près du centre communautaire est un stand de crème glacée qui est idéal pour un dîner rapide ainsi.

Ce est un paradis de ornithologues. Suivre les aigles planent, les guillemots volent dans et hors des falaises ci-dessous ou les fous de Bassan plongent dans l'océan depuis le chalet. Vous pourriez même voir la gousse occasionnelle de baleines dans la baie pendant que vous asseoir détente ou en lisant sur le pont.

Absolutely beautiful location, remote without being incredibly isolated. Great spot for access to hiking, biking, or just laying low. It had everything you need with a general store nearby, a kitchen and fridge, good shower, etc.

I fell in love with this place. Location, location, location! There's no Italian marble in the bathroom. If you want to cook a huge dinner for guests, you're pretty much out of luck. There's no huge TV or luxury living room, and it's not in a swanky neighborhood. This has something much more valuable than any of those things: seclusion. I stayed here at the end of October. It took me over 3 hours to get from Cheticamp because of an early-season snowstorm. The next day I sat looking out the kitchen window at hailstorms, snow squalls and even a couple waterspouts go by. The little house creaked and groaned. I felt like I was at the end of the earth. But it was warm and safe and I could finally concentrate on my writing. My dog Auggie and I loved going to Cabot Landing beach, and had a bunch of apples from the trees along the driveway. We also liked exploring the little ATV trails around the house that go down to the harbor. At night, you can see the lights from the tankers and freighters going through the St. Lawrence Seaway. Meghan is an exemplary host and is quick to respond to inquiries. The only thing I didn't like about her is that she wouldn't sell me this gem of a property because it was '...in her family for generations..." or some such nonsense . Anyway, this place is truly special. I hope to visit it someday in the summer when the restaurants and other facilities are open.

This cottage was just perfect! It had plenty of towels and wash/dish cloths, dishes and beds were comfy. We stayed most days and nights on the deck.....what a view.....You won't regret staying here!! Little grocery store down the toad was just right. w.

We spent 3 nights at this lovely, secluded cottage. Has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Is the perfect place to unwind. The manager was very understanding when we were late with our second payment. Thankyou! We were disappointed not to be able to walk to the top of the bluff in front of the cottage. The posted picture is misleading. Otherwise, a great stay!!

I felt like I needed to get away from everything. This place was PERFECT. I even signed up for an extra day. The place had everything I needed, and communication was excellent. The view was gorgeous, and my pup loved the mowed patch out back for spontaneous fetch sessions. Cabot Landing blew his little Chocolate Lab mind! The first thing I did when I got home was try to figure out when I could get back there.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The location was spectacular with gorgeous sunsets and so private. The cottage had everything we needed to cook some meals and enjoy the evenings on the deck. We used it as a base to explore the park and nearby beaches and hikes. Everyone we met and communicated with - the owners and the caretaker - were incredibly helpful and responsive. It's definitely on our list for a return visit!

This is our second summer visit to this beautiful cottage, and we've already booked for next year! Amazing space stocked with everything you need. The cottage has stunning views from all directions and in the most beautiful place in the world. Beaches, hikes, the national park, whales! Truly a gem.

Very thankful for the opportunity to stay at this property. Secluded, very clean and a more than adequate kitchen will make your stay enjoyable. We enjoyed all of the sight seeing to do right in the bay outside the home. Whales, seals, bald eagles, birds, rabbits and boats of all sizes are always coming or going. I would recommend buying a nice pair of binoculars as I sat outside for hours just watching the ocean at a distance. House furnishings are amicable and the beds were semi comfortable for our expectations. Just remember, you are paying for the seclusion so you will be a great distance drive wise from many of the places on the island which was perfect for us. Sydney etc are close to a 3 hour drive and Cheticamp was close to 90 minutes. Great places to eat in Cape North and Meat cove had a wonderful lobster roll. Thanks again

Our stay was absolutely terrific although the weather was not the greatest (Hurrican Lee!). We loved the location and the small fishing village where the property is located is so beautiful. I just can't say enough about the area. The house was so comfortable, clean and in a spot that is gorgeous. We loved it. We will come back if the owners will have us!!!

We stayed at this property for the last two weeks of August 2023. It was the most wonderful holiday. The cottage is perfect (amazing views, comfy beds, great water pressure, fully stocked with the necessities) and the area is exceptionally beautiful. You can wake up to the sunrise and watch the sunset from the back deck. The cottage is surrounded by wildflowers, hares, mountains, birds of prey and various other creatures. There is a (fantastic) whale watching boat tour that leaves from the harbor, which is about 5 minutes from the cottage. There is great food and good grocery options about 20 minutes drive away from the cottage. The beaches and coast are beautiful and there is tons to do in the National Park, also very very nearby. The wifi has also been upgraded since some previous posts and was super fast and reliable. We're heading back here next summer and are already looking forward to it.

We have been staying here for years and adore it and Bay St. Lawrence. Stunning views in all types of weather and the charming cottage is perfectly set up for a week or longer stay. We hike, blueberry pick, whale watch (have spotted from the deck many times), fish, golf kayak, swim and enjoy the local restaurants. We will be back (again)!

This was our 2nd visit back to this amazing part of the world, and we loved it. The location is perfect for an East coast experience, and the cabin is simple and very comfortable with all of the basics covered…it is the exact balance that we want to unplug and unwind, and we will certainly will continue to cherish our time there for years to come!! We wouldn’t change a thing and would highly recommend this gem!

Well MY MY MY!. What a cozy cottage with alot of charm. The view from the deck was amazing. Got to watch the boats,birds and occasionally a whale. Quiet town with some kind people that helped us out when we needed it. The peace and quiet was so relaxing. I almost 🤣 when we left, I didn't want to go. WE LOVED IT

We have had the privilege of staying at this cottage several time over the years and there is a reason we keep coming back. If you long for peace in a pristinely clean little cottage that has long views looking out over the bay, perfect sunsets, blueberries and rabbits on the hill that your cottage is perched, fresh seafood, mountain hikes, a deck to read on - than this is your heaven! We have only ever had great experiences here and memories that sustain us year after year! This year we saw pilot whales and a RIGHT WHALE from the deck. We could actually HEAR the whales. I mean, come ON.

There is nothing particularly spectacular about the cottage per se. However, when you come over the hill and see her for the first time you are just in awe. She is unpretentious. You can’t get over that this little structure offers protection for you…..so you may take in the freshest of air and grandest of horizons in an never ending sea. This house has a bountiful soul that extends to the sea that you will be regenerated by. There are binoculars there but we brought our own. I’ve never in my life have been able to see the stars being born out of the horizon through my binoculars. It was hard to tell where the sky began as it appeared seamless from the ocean. Daily I would look for Bald Eagles and whales. On the last day while drinking my morning coffee, I look out and right in front were three Bald Eagles gliding along the coast. A gift on my last day. There was also the cutest little Jack Rabbit and daily Hummingbirds that feed on the Honeysuckle Bush by the door. There are few places left where one feels like they are the only human on earth and this place offers that. My only suggestion and this is for people who want to stream and or watch television. There is a small television where one can hook up to your device. Because of the remoteness (this includes many places on the island) we downloaded everything we wanted to watch on my Ipad before we arrived and hooked that up. We also bought our own Fire-stick from Amazon. We had Netflix and Prime and local news on the stick. We enjoy watching tv before going to bed and this worked out perfectly. There are also many games at the house which we had fun playing. Remote parts of the island are not set up with the most up to date fiber optic’s for super fast internet and multiple streaming devices. That is fine with me. A small price to pay in exchange for the beauty and peace. One more suggestion. Make sure to bring most of the food you will need. There is a small Co-op that carried small baggies of many staples like rice, sugar, flour many items… All organic too! I wish I would have brought from home a small baggie of baking power, baking soda and a few spices that we use regularly. There are a few at the house for you use which was nice. There was also a great clothes line for washing a few items by hand to be hung to dry. There is a laundromat a half hour down the road if needed. My wife and I enjoyed two weeks at this charming cottage. It combined so many things we look for in a vacation, and badly needed after 18 months of COVID lockdowns in our town. Vast ocean views peppered by fishing - by both the local fisherman and the high diving Gannets. Mountainous terrain with excellent hiking, fresh air, and regular bald eagle sightings. The solitude and starry skies that come with a remote location on the outskirts of a quaint village. We hope to visit again when we can make it out east. Thank you for sharing this rare gem of a place.
