The good:
- Location was good, guests were able to access the slope within 10min of walking.
- Host was quick at responding. Fairly simple check-in process.
- Host provided us with plenty of towels and toiletries
The bad:
- The drive way was essentially a big ramp. Guests won't be able to park in front of the house on a snowy day. On the night we came in, we had 15cm of snow on the driveway, and we were not able to access the drive way despite already equipped with snow tires and snow chains on our Ford150. The long term parking is about 5min drive away from the lodge, so that was a major inconvenience to load stuff.
- We were disappointed at the overall cleanness with the lodge, most of the dishes from the cabinet were dirty so we had to re-wash all the dishes on the first night. There were quite a bit of pet fur on some of the beddings, our friends who were allergic to cat said their eyes were itchy throughout the night.
The unexpected:
- Biggest red flag from this stay was that we were told that we are not getting full deposit back because the host is charging the Platform Processing Fee, cancellation fee out of our damage deposit. After confirming with VRBO customer support, I have made sure that guests are not liable for these charges but the host refused to pay the remaining deposit regardless.
- Also, they made false claim that we had throw cigarette butt in the BBQ on the deck to increase cleaning fees, where we don't smoke and we have never been out on the deck.
