We enjoyed our stay and if your cooking - no need to bring anything - Fully stocked kitchen. The pool is in walking distance of the home ! Lots of indoor and outdoor games to play for adults and little ones . Wrap around porch with many tables - 2 comfy screened in areas up stairs and down stairs ! If you can't handle making ice from trays - bring your own ! We only stayed for 2 days so we were able to survive .. Berkeley Springs town within 6 miles - has a new restaurant called Vine Trattoria 'Cacapon State Park not far - has a beach area and hiking trails !
We had a great time. The home was perfect for 2 grandparents, 2 children and their spouses, and 5 grandchildren. The space was perfectly fit for us.We were able to make a full Thanksgiving dinner because the kitchen was so well equipped. There was hiking, cards, games and much joy and laughter. A good amount of family teasing also! The beds were comfy and the woodland theme was incredible! Even though, sadly we didnât have a âlittleâ to enjoy the doll house, I think all the kids tried it out! So amazingly cute! Thanks for the up keep on this lovely cabin!
This visit was a disaster from start to finish.
When we arrived, we immediately noticed a damp, musty smell to the cabin. Looking around, we found mold growing in the downstairs bathrooms. In one of them it was a small amount, but in the other, it was a large, black area on the ceiling with clear signs of water damage all around. The property owners had a dehumidifier set up in the basement, so they apparently knew there was some issue there. The musty smell permeated the house and lasted our whole stay. This was just the first issue.
We also found holes in the screened in deck areas which allowed bugs in; drainage from the AC units that weren't attached, allowing water to leak onto the the deck; exposed nails on the deck railing, etc... Also, the main door only had the key code lock on it without a deadbolt or chain, meaning anyone with a code could have entered at any time.
We would have left early, but due to some commitments of ours, we had to stay for the planned week.
Finally, after we had left, the management company contacted us to charge us a cleaning fee, claiming we left dog poop in the living room! We obviously had not done that. They sent pictures dated several days after we left as their "proof" and apparently wanted us to take their word that no one else had been in the house since we left.
The house was moldy and gross and the management company tried to rip us off. AVOID!
The place was very nice - the back enclosed porch was great for family dinners - the kids got a charge out of the little play area - the only negative was the sliding door to the back enclosed porch was very hard to push (rollers are going bad - we had the same problem at our own house & replaced the rollers.)
Was a nice place to stay. My boys were obsessed with their room/play area. We were told after 4:00 and arrived at 4:10 ish- they werenât done cleaning. There was dog poop in the yard when we arrived.. there was no detergent for laundry- which I attempted to call once and email twice with zero Response. Everything else was good, no toaster which my kids eat bagels, the toaster oven took way too long to toast bagels. My daughterâs room did start smelling weird after we got settled, almost like old smoke? But the beds were so comfortable. I personally wouldnât spend the money we did on this place, but, it was a decent stay.
The place was very nice. l would like to say this this stay was very nice was very welcoming. The only thing the showerim the downstairs bathroom did not have much hot water. If l come to WVa again l would stay again.
We loved the stay. I was very impressed by the cleanliness, the very thoughtful extras and all the space we had. No problems at all! I highly recommend it.
We were very pleased with the amenities available, including the well equipped kitchen, lovely community pool, private hot tub, childrenâs play nook, and ample air conditioning for a hot summer week, Our family included a wide range of ages and we all enjoyed our stay!
This cabin was well stocked, comfortable, and in such a beautiful area. The pictures are accurate to what the cabin looks like. We really enjoyed our stay.
Stayed at the Wildflower- 7 total. Cabin was clean and welcoming. Spacious family room, hot tub fit 4 comfortably and enjoyed taking walks around the area. Close to the Brewery Pub and the Treetop restaurant. I would recommend this place and stay there again myself. A few little things to mention. Kitchen was well stocked but no steak knives found. Some extra firewood wouldâve been nice. Maybe a few extra kitchen towels would be helpful. These are just suggestions- overall, a great experience!
We were 5 women in our 40s having a relaxing girls' weekend in Berkeley Springs. The Wildflower property was fantastic - very clean, spacious and comfortably appointed with lots of beds and plenty of seating. The setting was peaceful and secluded, which was perfect for our aim of weekend of hiking, horseback riding and taking in the waters. There was ample wood in the carport for the entire long weekend and we enjoyed fires in the main living area. Management response was excellent when strong winds knocked out the power on the first night - I received an immediate response even though it was after midnight. The hot tub was great after hiking and horseback riding and the house was really well stocked, including beach towels for the hot tub! Everything was well labeled and all instructions were easy to follow. We were a short easy drive into town, whether to go the Main or Old Roman Bathhouses or one of the great places to eat in town. We all agreed that we would definitely come back to enjoy the Wildflower again. Thank you for a great stay!
The house was clean and had all the amenities our family wanted. There were books, puzzles and games for our use which was nice. There were some things that needed fixing in the house. The sliding door downstairs did not lock, The sliding door upstairs leading out to the screened patio also did not lock and the door was very hard to open and close. The dishwasher door squeaked very loudly. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and glasses. I think some of the pots could be replaced. Water pressure poor when taking a shower. The playset outside was nice but is showing need of updating. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit one evening. We would come back to this house if we come back to Berkeley springs.
The house in a beautiful mountainside resort. It was more spacious than I though especially the downstairs. House was dated but clean and quaint. The kitchen A++ equipped was everything you could possibly need.
Trouble with hot tub but mountainside getaway sent someone to fix it. My husband found the hose to fill up the tub more.
The community pool was awesome. Unfortunately had some party groups there but they were eventually kicked out.
All in all it was a great place to stay I would recommend to large family groups.
Just one thing please have house keepers vacuum out all spiders on the screened in porches before a new guests come in.
We loved this property! We do an annual âfriendsâ trip to Berkeley Springs, this was our first time staying at Wildflower, and we all agreed we want to stay there again. We loved it! Very spacious, beautiful scenery, thoughtful touches, and the âcommunalâ areas were large enough for us all to hang out and be comfortable.
Communication prior was great, too.
Thank you!!!
A small group of us take an annual short trip to either the beach or mountains. We chose Berkeley Springs and were not disappointed. The house is well furnished and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, cookware etc. probably the most well stocked kitchen I have ever had at a rental!
It was easy to get my handicapped husband in my only caveat is the shower in the first floor bedroom (all other bedrooms and 2 additional bathrooms are downstairs) could use a few handicapped rails to ease stepping up into the shower. In other words the accessibility of the main floor bathroom is limited to those who can still step up into a shower stall.
But I made it work for my husband and we all had a great time.
This would be a great place for families with kids too.
We may be back if we come to Berkeley Springs again.
We had a maintenance issue with the front door and when we called they were over to fix it the same day.
The property was as expected. Kitchen was well equipped - cooked all our meals there. Loved that there was firewood available for us to enjoy the cozy fireplace. Linens were clean and fresh. And dogs being welcomed made the stay perfect. It is a mountain house though so we did have a mouse friend, but the kids loved that! There were some other negatives but those would not prevent us from visiting again and could easily be fixed: some light bulbs were out, sliding door to the deck was almost impossible to open, shower door upstairs didn't close all the way, and by the end of the week I think the septic tank was full because it smelled so bad we didn't want to be at the outside firepit. Again, nothing that we keep us from visiting again, but if you are expecting perfection you may be disappointed. We were there for the company of family which was perfect!
Communication was impossible. I tried for 3 weeks prior to our stay to reach the manager and got no answer to repeated email and voice mail. On the day of check in, we could not get Wi-Fi signal to review our code and got a condescending text to our inquiries. One tub would not drain, causing us to vacate early. Wi-Fi was poor and only one person could be online at a time. There were mouse droppings in the kitchen. That said, the location is beautiful and the house has potential.
Wildflower is in a beautiful mountain community! The pool area is exceptional. The location is incomparable if you're looking for rustic natural mountain experience. The house itself needs some love. especially irksome are the sliding door that hardly works and the shower door that requires a huge slam to get it to shut properly. We would certainly return to the neighboorhood. Not this house though unless some of the repairs were adressed. All in all, a great place though.
