« A warm welcome on arrival, lovely room with all facilities and a delicious cooked breakfast before we left. Would definitely book again and highly recommend to others »

« Checked into Room one, nice view over quay but as soon as I lay on bed headboard collapsed, went to have shower and shower not working, was allowed to use bathroom down the hall but not ideal. No remote for TV so couldn’t use that either. Wanted to say good stay but very poor. »

« The property is quaint/unusual. Not easily seen from the road if arriving in the dark. Provisions given in the room and the landing were excellent and fabulous location for Stansted airport. However, on opening the front door noted that the hall carpet was slightly worn and the room allocated had a shower in the room rather than the bathroom. Otherwise very comfortable stay and would book again, but request a room with a definite bathroom. »

« Lovely room, great breakfast and friendly, helpful owners. »

« Just a short one night stay for our night before our flight out of Stansted. Great little find, just 30 mins from the airport but a lovely peaceful location. The host had left provisions for breakfast which was totally unexpected but made a real difference to our stay. Would recommend for for a short stay away from it all. »

« Stunning property, gorgeous & delightfully helpful owners ( Doug & Kay)& in a beautiful part of the country. Close to good restaurants, historical villages & towns. Just a perfect weekend retreat. »

« A very comfortable country pub, with great food, top chef and well kept beer. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. My room was a tad small and basic but the bathroom was modern and hey this is a 16th century building and I enjoyed my stay. »

« Due to a VRBO double booking, this was a last-minute booking @ around 6:30pm. They welcomed us in with open arms and made the stay most enjoyable. Glad we got double-booked! »

« Really nice and regrettably brief stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast ran by a lovely couple. I was made to feel at home from the start and the hosts went out of their way to help make my stay as comfortable as possible (including an offer of a lift to a local pub!). Breakfast was really high quality and ample. I will definitely look to stay again! Thank you! »

« Great breakfast »

« Vanessa and Steve were exceptional hosts and the facilities at “The Foxes Den” suited us perfectly. Everything was most satisfactory and we ended our stay with a delicious full English breakfast which kept us going for quite a while!!! We would recommend a stay there to everyone visiting the area for a peaceful and very comfortable night. »
