Our stay at Chalet du Soleil started off rocky. At our 4:00 pm check-in, the WiFi was down and Xfinity workers were still at the property. While we understood this was outside management’s control, it was not an ideal start.We were told both hot tubs had been serviced that morning, but that proved untrue. The next morning, after using the hot tub attached to the primary suite for about 10 minutes, all six guests wearing jewelry experienced severe tarnishing and black discoloration (photos attached). Management dismissed our concern, saying this had never happened before, despite everyone being affected—clearly indicating improper chemical levels.Later that day, we found the basement hot tub completely empty. Management again insisted it had been checked and suggested it must have leaked. Although someone was sent to refill it, the 24–48 hour process meant it was unusable for our entire stay.Having both hot tubs unavailable during a winter trip was extremely disappointing, as was the dismissive response and lack of accountability. After significant pushback, management finally offered to cover the cost of professional jewelry cleaning. At price we paid for this place, we expected far better service.
