Not Quite as Advertised – Some Major Letdowns OutsideWe recently stayed at this property and, while we were able to enjoy our time and make great memories as a family, there were several aspects of the listing that were unfortunately misrepresented. The biggest disappointment was the pier/dock shown in the listing photos. In reality, it was dilapidated, unusable, and unsafe for fishing or any activity. The pond, which looks well-maintained online, was overgrown with weeds and clearly not being cared for. Similarly, the fire pit area shown in the photos—with wooden posts and a neat setup—no longer exists in that condition. The fire pit was not maintained and completely unusable during our stay.Landscaping around the property, especially in the front, was neglected. Weeds and overgrown bushes covered the sidewalk and front steps, which gave a very unkempt first impression. Additionally, all the trash bins were full upon our arrival, leaving us nowhere to dispose of our own trash throughout the stay.Perhaps most concerning was the wooden deck in the backyard. It had nails sticking out, creating a very unsafe environment for our children. On a positive note, the interior of the home was beautiful and clearly very well cared for. It was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The host was responsive, stayed in regular communication with us, and was receptive to concerns we raised during our stay. With some attention to the outdoor areas and an update to the listing
