« Look, don't get me wrong, it's not terrible by any means. It's just that for a hotel that's trying to play at this level, it struggles with some of the basics. If you're having a short stay there's no housekeeping by default, (which they don't tell you when you arrive) but there's only a small (non-heated) towel rail, so you're going to have soggy towels on day 2. « Bloody Marvellous From the lovely warm welcome when we arrived to the fantastic breakfast just before we left everything was perfect. The room was lovely but what really made the difference was the wonderful team. The chefs should be made a saints as they worked miracles. See you all again »

« A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building. « Second time staying and I love it here. The rooms are gorgeous, the staff are helpful and food is delicious. Already can't wait to return. »

« The pictures on the site do not represent the reality of this hotel. It’s currently very run down and in need of lots of work. We stayed for 3 nights, we only had 3 towels and although we asked for more twice, were not given any and they weren’t changed during our stay. The bathroom looked new but unfinished. There was nowhere to put shampoo etc. in the shower, the floor was slippy (I bought a rubber mat for them) the toilet flush was dodgy and neither the fan or light above the mirror worked....

« The house is beautiful. It's built around a courtyard with the bedrooms on one side and the living rooms on the other. So, even if some people are up late in the evening, it doesn't disturb those who want to go to sleep. There were 8 of us including 2 children and we had plenty of space. The many bathrooms made getting ready in the mornings very easy. The village has no facilities, but everything you need is a short drive away. I would definitely recommend. »
