We came in March with two kids. The back deck was peaceful. When the leaves are off the trees, you can see the hill tops across the lake. There is a cabin next door, but it did not impact the secluded feeling. The lake, which is not visible from the deck, is only a few hundred yards from the cabin. The hill down to it is REAL steep and the risk of slipping is high after a rain. We walked down to go fishing while we were there, but the hike back up is not for the faint of heart. If you don’t want to hike down the hill, there is a public boat launch a half mile up the road. Cell service is almost non existent, so we brought walkie-talkies to communicate with the cabin from the lake. The cabin is about 15 minutes from the highway and 35 minutes from Hochatown, but we brought groceries and only went into town twice. The cabin has been recently updated. One bedroom has its own bathroom. The other bathroom is a Jack and Jill bathroom between the hallway and the large bedroom. The internet was a little spotty during the rainstorm, but otherwise worked fine. The board games, fusball table, and pickleball supplies were nice additions. We all had a great time.
