Eine angenehme Woche in angenehmer Atmosphäre

Das Haus und die gesamte Anlage der Fam. Monti sind sehr gepflegt und gut ausgestattet. Federica ist sehr freundlich und managt alles perfekt. Die Ausblicke vom FeHs "Olivo" in die umliegenden Täler sind fantastisch, die Lage zu den Ausflugszielen der Toskana ist ein grosses Plus. Wenn man überhaupt etwas bemängeln kann: das etwas zu kalte Wasser im Pool (2. Mai-Hälfte) und das doch sehr magere und schwankende WiFi-Netz. Doch der Gesamteindruck macht das wett, ist alles in allem richtig gut und die Anlage ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Traumhafte Lage in der Bilderbuch-Toskana in der Nähe von San Giminano, Volterra, Sienna und anderen schönen Zielen. Schönes Haus, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und gepflegte Anlage mit Pool. Einziges Manko die etwas harten Betten.

Wonderful House and stay

Olivo cottage at Podere di Monti is perfectly suited for a family of two adults and two big children with Two large bedrooms and bathrooms. Around the House are two private terrasses. Very Close to the House are the swimmingpool with the most beautyfull view to the landscape. We loved walking (1km) to Casole d’Elsa for winetasting, restaurants, icecream, bread and Meat. We would love to come back some day.

Wonderful stay in Tuscany

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage centrally located in Tuscany. Federica and her family were welcoming and ready to assist and answer questions as their home is on the same grounds. The cottage and grounds are exactly as they appear and are described in the listing. My husband and I stayed in the ground floor bedroom but there is a second bedroom upstairs (and second bathroom) that could easily accommodate two children. But we spent most of our time outdoors. In the morning we'd seize to one of the beautiful medieval towns or local wineries to sight see, eat and drink fabulous wine. We would return in the late afternoon we would return and take a dip in the pool that is shared with guests staying on the grounds in other accommodations. The vistas from the pool were especially beautiful, including a great view of San Gimingnano. In the evening we would dine outside on a table outside our cottage. It was quite blissful. I highly recommend this property and its hosts.

Prachtig gelegen, rustig en comfortabel.

Fijn verblijf. Zeer vriendelijke ontvangst, goed uitgerust huisje. Prachtig gelegen bij, op loopafstand van het schilderachtige Casola d'Elsa met prima restaurants. Het plaatselijke Archeologisch Museum was een aangename verrassing! Alleen de huiskamer was wat klein, voor 2 mensen prima maar niet voor meer.

great cottage lovely hosts in a fantastic place

The cottage and other facilities were first class Frederica and her family were great, always there for help and advice. The location was stunning, the village close by had everything you could want, restaurants, bars, shops and a supermarket but in a quaint Tuscany way. We were there October 16th - 23rd. Weather was warm during the day if it was sunny (T-shirt and shorts compatible for people from the UK, though locals were wearing jumpers, long trousers, boots, body warmers and scarves!) Quite cold over night, so need to take layers of clothing. Need to watch weather forecasts for rain etc and go places where its not going to rain. The property was really nicely finished - good shower rooms, well decorated, clean, comfortable, plenty of hot water, adequate an beautifully clean kitchen. Cable TV was useful - could get BBC News 24 as one of the channels. Would have been improved with an extractor fan in the shower room to get rid of the steamy air - though that wouldnt have mattered in the summer as you could have just left the window open! There were lovely panoramic views over the countryside. The guide-book to local places put together by the owner of the property was very useful and well researched. Note the country roads are a bit slow in Tuscany in general, though google maps seems to get the expected journey times about right. The restaurants in the local town/village of Casole d'Elsa were good.

Lovely place to stay.

Well appointed property with great views. Decoration and fittings are good. Pool is small but adequate and with great views over the countryside. Host is very pleasant and helpful and her folder on the local area was superb. Good position to explore the Tuscan area. Only draw back is that the sitting area is small and could be a squash for 4 people if the evenings were cool. Local town is small but within walking distance and provides all you need with a bar, restaurants and small butchers and grocery store. The set menu at the restaurant was excellent!!!!

We where 4 at the house. Great stay house and surroundings clean with great view, owner helpful giving info , one thing was the fridge could be bigger not a big thing but.. :O) , short walking distance from nearby town with some good resturants. Great book from the owner with info about nearby villages and towns we used it as a reference to our trips around the area. Need to have a car. Kind regards

Nice but not perfect

We (family of 4) stayed in the Olivio property, a self contained 2 bedroom property, situated close to the main house. If you book a stay at Podere Monti please bear in mind the other accommodation and facilities varies across each of the units. For example not all have air-conditioning or a television. The good The property and surrounding area has stunning views and San Giminiagno can be seen in the distance form the grounds. You can walk into Casole D'Elsa avoiding walking on the main road or using pavement on last section. It does take 20mins and is uphill! The pool is a good size with (just) sufficient chairs and brollies. There was no evidence that it was being cleaned regularly. Kitchen is fairly well equipped The property was clean on arrival. To keep it clean a brush and pan is provided but nothing else. Bring a few cleaning material with you to save buying locally Local supermarket has a fair selection of produce but CoOp in Colle 20 min drive away is a better option for a big shop Our flight meant that we only arrived at 10pm but Federica was there to greet us and brief us on the property Air con on max kept property coolish The not so good The property is not huge but is functional. Wardrobe space is not extensive and there is only soft seating for 3 in the lounge area. Shower cubicle is neat! Some of the chairs and loungers round the pool have a habit of collapsing on you While there is wifi in the outdoor areas there is no wifi inside (description was somewhat economical with the truth) The description mentions Maid Service - this was limited to your new sheets and towels being left at the door for you to change yourself The washing machine is shared by all properties and is in owner's garage While inflatables were not allowed in the pool, some guests ignored this and the owner did not police despite being around There are 4 restaurants in Casole itself (Michelin starred one just outside on walk to town was not tested by us). One restaurant only served a 3 course dinner (too much for us) and others focussed on pizza with the odd pasta and other dish available. While essentials on day 1 (milk bread etc) can be made available at cost there was no complimentary "welcome" pack I only really saw Federica on arrival and departure (but did not try to seek her out in the meantime) The summary It is a nice property in a lovely part of the world but I expected a little more for the money being charged

Perfect Tuscan retreat.

We stayed in cottage Olivo in June/July. The cottage was immaculately presented, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Well placed to visit all the major Tuscan attractions and near enough to the village to be able to walk in to sample the local restaurants. We were lucky enough to be staying when the annual Welcome Day took place. We were invited to the home of a delightful couple for dinner and then back to the town square for a concert under the stars, perfect!!!! We will most definitely return, Federica and her parents were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I heartily recommend this property.

We had a lovely week at Podere Monti, the cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner Frederrica was absolutely lovely, she was always available to provide help and give advice. The local town Casole D'Elsa was within walking distance and is very quaint with typical architecture . There are some nice shops and good restaurants in the town. The cottage is ideally placed as a base to travel to many places such as San Gimignano,Siena and Florence. Bus and train access is reasonably close and not expensive. We will certainly return very soon and will definitely share this place with friends and family. Thanks Frederica for allowing us to share your home.

Stunning views, relaxing cottage, helpful owners and a lovey little nearby town

The journey from Pisa was straightforward and quick and the cottage easy to find. We received a very warm welcome with lots of helpful ideas on where to go and the best restaurants etc. The cottage was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed. The views from all three terraces were stunning and meant you could follow the sun all day, which we did! The nearby town was a gentle stroll away and there are one or two shops to stock up on essentials as well as local olive oil and wine and two bakeries. There are a couple of bars (lovely coffee) and a couple of pizzerias too. The town was very quiet in April but I suspect may be much busier in the height of summer. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the cottage, and the area, to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Tuscany.

Podere Monti in the Casole D'Elsa area is just lovely. Thank you to Federica and family for hosting us! Very organized, helpful and welcoming. Lovely cottage, lovely family, lovely village. It was still quite windy and cool in mid-late March, but also so fresh, quiet and beautiful. The cottage is lovely and it is about a 10-15 walk into town. San Gimingnano is only a 20 min drive away. Everything is close. The views are wonderful. It is in the 'country' so there are bugs in the cottage. They certainly didn't bother us. Our kids loved the upstairs bedroom and bathroom - a cosy space just for them. Wifi mostly worked from in the living room, but it definitely works better from the patio area. I would definitely recommend this spot to a family looking to explore Tuscany.
