A category below Motel 6. I was placed in possibly the worst room in the hotel, in the bowels of the the hotel, there was no light for me to see where the key should go. then I realized that since the room was right on the street, I would never get a good nights sleep. Then the TV remote didn't work..I took it to the front desk and waited 10 minutes for the receptionist to get a battery.(it was missing one battery)..I could hear her on the phone speaking with someone and had to yell for her to call back the party so I could get back to my room. Finally she came out with a bag of batteries. Went back to the room, inserted the battery...still didn't work, then discovered that that spring on the female part was broken, so no contact was possible. She told me that even the back buttons on the TV might not work as the TV brand was very cheap quality.(I'd never heard of the brand) So back to reception (she was very sweet)...I asked for and got another room upstairs...still could hear cars on highway 1, but better than the first room. No hair dryer, no rubber bath mat for a very slippery bathtub, no in-room coffee maker, and no lobby coffee. No amenities...no shampoo, etc. and scratchy sandpaper towels. Bed was OK, room was clean, and TV worked in this room For a $150/night hotel, I'll give this a 2 star rating, well below Motel 6

I really enjoyed my stay the price was cheaper then what i normally pay for in salinas. Worth the drive reasonable price rooms has really big beds with mini refrigerator and a microwave shower has a tub. Owners are really nice and professinal. Overall i emjoyed my stay and if i can describe it in one word id say it wasa comfortable stay. Thabk you coastal valley 😁

We were warned that check-in was no later than 11pm. Nice guy at the front desk, looks like it's a family run business. The parking lot is almost full. The room is nice, it is clear that the repair is not the cheapest. But dirty. Dirty sticky floor, rubbish and hair in the bathroom. For 4 people only 3 or 4 small towels. The beds are very comfortable. The heater cannot be set to maintain the temperature: it either blows and is very hot or cold if it is turned off. There is no coffee machine. We only needed to sleep so ok

It was not horrible but could have been better. Staff was not available to reach for extra amenities (e.g., toilet paper or extra towels). For the price, it was to be expected. We got what we paid for.

Fine for a night. But wouldn't recommend.
Stayed for 1 night and glad we didn't stay longer. It was fine for an overnight but wouldn't recommend overall. Positive is that the room was clean. It also had a fridge and microwave, which was a nice bonus. Room wasn't ready during check in. TV did not work. WiFi did not work. Multiple requests to remedy lead nowhere. Staff were friendly but seemed annoyed to be asked of basic things the room needed (e.g. there wasn't toilet paper in the room).

Horrible place to stay less than 1 star
Horrible place lumpy bed and pillow, dirty room will mold in windows and on blinds. Unsafe jacuzzi tub difficult to get in and out of was told they gave us the best room if this was the best, I'd be afraid to see the others. No maid service room was not cleaned while we were out, to get clean towels we were told we had to wait for laundry and come back and get them in the rain. The towels were thin and had fuzz on them. The door looked like it had been kicked in. We did not feel safe being there. The owner was rude.

Road trip option if necessary
This motel is an okay option if you're on a road trip. When my partner and I stayed, we walked into a room with a HUGE bathroom and 2 person bathtub... that had hair already in it and all over the bathroom floor. The bed had only two pillows, and was very uncomfortable (we could feel the springs). There was a fridge and microwave, tv, and towels. The bathroom blinds were either very dirty, or moldy.
