Overall a very pleasant stay at a very nice location. It was a great setup, the kitchen was very well appointed. Loved the high quality of the products we got to use--every bathroom with nice soaps, towels, great kitchen appliances and plenty of cookware. We stayed about a month and would (in fact may) do it again. Only a few things might have been better. 1) the grill was not in working order. They replaced it, but unfortunately the timing of that replacement was such that we had a working grill but not-working weather. Suppose that can't be helped. 2) trash cans--lots of them (4) on the driveway, often blowing over. Not sure why that arrangement is best. Unsightly and inconvenient. Bet the neighbors don't care for them. 3) would be nice to be able to open and close the garage door automatically--perhaps lend an opener? 4) the geography and mother of all pot-holes at the end of the driveway makes it hard to get out without taking a dip in muddy water. But--small fry studs. Overall very nice.

This home is beautiful and great for family weekend. The three (3) bedrooms on the main floor were perfect for elderly guests with mobility difficulties. Fire pit and games and entire living area on lower level was perfect to give room for the age differences to enjoy their own things to do in their own groups. Bed are very comfortable. Place was very clean. Hope to come back in the warmer weather!

Nice house. Lots of space. Roku TV in every room (if that matters to you) Two levels of bedrooms. Plenty of room. Very well stocked. Says maximum is 16 people. If you can get them parked, they would be happy there. Huge kitchen that is extremely well stocked. Everything that should be provided inside the house is there. Trash bags, paper towel, silverware, bowls, plates, glasses. Parking is terrible. Do not show up with more than 5 cars. Almost impossible to get in and out of the driveway without vehicle damage of some kind even with one. Giant stones line the "private" paved drive to the driveway, if you miss those, there is a huge ditch at the corner of the driveway. It is deep. Impossible to miss both the boulders AND the ditch. One is impacting your car. Do not think for a minute you will have more than 5 vehicles there. We got hounded when two grandmothers stopped by to see a grand baby. Threats of fines and / or towing if not solved immediately. They are completely serious when they say max 5 cars. Unfortunately, in order to pull in to the driveway anything that would carry all 16 max people in 5 cars, that vehicle is too big to make it in to the driveway. It's unfortunate because it is such a roomy place. The parking is for a one bedroom loft. Zero chance we can risk vehicles with a return stay, which is sad for such a nice property.

Wish We Could've Stayed Longer!

This place was great! Housed all of us comfortably, plenty of room for a large group. We really enjoyed the outdoor space with the fire pit and corn hole! Wish we had more time there to see what else it had to offer or to experience the lake!

Perfect Getaway

This is the perfect getaway for a large group. There were 12 of us. It rained every day but every day the sun came out long enough to go swimming in the lake, paddle boarding, kayaking (that were provided by the owner) and boating. We rented the boat because there is a beautiful pier that made it so easy to board and get off. When it did rain we had the whole downstairs that had the pinball machine & air hockey table that was put to good use. We also played cards, watched movies. We cooked every meal there using the fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, glassware you name it, it was there. I do want to point out though, the walk down to the pier is a little steeper than it looks only because we had some elderly friends that found it a little trying because there are no handrails for them to hold onto. But this is a wonderful property and we would definitely use this property again.

Beyond Expectations

We were in town for our son's wedding and had booked based on location near my son's house and an estimate of how many people we might need to accommodate. Shades of Summer exceeded all of our expectations! It was incredibly spacious while still having wonderful gathering spaces, the beds were all very comfortable, and the kitchen amazingly well stocked with cookware and dishes/silverware. It was also spotlessly clean and ready for our arrival. Communication with the host was excellent. The worst part was trying to turn onto Hwy 16 at rush hour, but that's a planning issue on our part. I would 100% recommend this home!

Great stay

Our family stayed at this home for a week and celebrated New Year’s Eve. The home was gorgeous and everything was perfect. Communication was great! The coffee pot was broken and they delivered a brand new one the next day! I will definitely stay here again hopefully in the summer so we can utilize the lake!

This property is BEAUTIFUL! The pics were accurate and EXACT! The property was up to date and everything was very accessible. We spent our family Christmas here and brought accessories to decorate but it was already decorated with a tree and fixtures. A MUST SEE AND ENJOY!!

Perfect halfway spot for reconnecting with a long distance friend we haven’t seen in years! Well maintained and great view. Never been to Lake Norman and it did not disappoint. Our favorite thing about the property was all the on-site games and activities. Would stay here again. And the management was quick to respond if we had questions.
