We had fantastic two weeks in Belle Perche. It is a lovely gite set in a very peaceful, rural location with all the facilities you could possibly need for a family holiday.
To get there, we used mostly state owned highways so, we paid only 18 Euros toll each way; we travelled from Calais for about 8 hours, with taking breaks. You can visit Mont-Saint-Michel, Normandy as it's on your way to Belle Perche.
We were positively surprised with road infrastructure around Belle Perche: you can quickly get explore castles of the Loire Valley. More locally, our boys loved Saint-Nazaire's museums. The submarine made on them a huge impression. We loved Pornic old town. Most of the time we spent on the beach in La Bernerie-en-Retz. Toilets, restaurants, plenty of free parking spaces with short walking to the wide and long sandy beach. Walking distance to another sandy beach Creve-Coeur ( a wild, not guarded beach) surrounded buy high rocks and caves.
Belle Perche has quick access to shopping centres; the nearest one was only 5 minutes distant buy car. The shopping mall in Pornic, which we went to on our way back from the beach, was 15 minutes drive with speed of 40 miles per hour (speed limit on dual lane road). We didn't eat in town so, can't comment on the restaurants.
The Gite itslef...wow! It's a newly converted barn whit high spec. The living space was comfortable, very well appointed. The kitchen equipped with dishwasher, oven, spacious fridge-freezer, microwave, everything what you need. There was washing machine and iron. There was lots of space, very light and airy. The outdoor decking was perfect for relaxed evenings. We were surrounded by forest and fields. You can't be bored there. You can play table tennis, badminton, dart's and ball. There was swing for kids. You can rent bikes for whole family.
We really enjoyed the peace and quiet at the end of our busy days. The owners are very kind and helpful. Excellent communication throughout the process. All check in and check out arrangements were easy managed.
