Absolutely Miserable Stay â Avoid This Hotel!
I booked the Holiday Inn Express TianFu Square in Chengdu through Expedia expecting the usual standard of comfort, but what I got was a masterclass in cutting corners and guest discomfort.
Letâs start with the air conditioningâor lack of it. Despite scorching summer temperatures, the room A/C was purposely disabled to save electricity. Thatâs right, only the lobby had cool air. So unless youâre planning to sleep next to the reception desk, prepare to sweat through the night. This isn't just inconvenientâitâs negligent.
The room was advertised with amenities that simply didnât exist. For instance, no mini fridgeâwhich meant no cold water, no storage for leftovers, and zero convenience. The shower stall leaked water all over the bathroom floor, forcing me to use towels to soak it up each time.
The food? Disappointing at best. The breakfast options were bland and uninspiredâclearly the result of cost-cutting rather than any attempt to provide a pleasant experience.
Holiday Inn Express is supposed to offer basic comfort and reliability, but this branch in Chengdu fell drastically short. Between the sweltering room, poor amenities, and unimpressive food, I left feeling duped. Do yourself a favour and book literally anywhere else.
