I would not recommend this property to anyone. When we arrived, we immediately discovered visible mold in the unit. This is a serious health concern, and because of it, we were unable to stay there at all. We contacted the host right away and provided clear evidence of the issue.To make matters worse, the listing photos no longer reflect the actual current state of the property. The condition we walked into was far from what was advertised.Despite the unit being uninhabitable, we were only refunded 227, which doesn’t come close to the total amount we paid or the additional cost we had to cover for last-minute alternative accommodations. The response from the host and VRBO was completely inadequate given the circumstances.This experience was stressful, misleading, and unacceptable. I strongly advise future guests to be cautious when booking this property.

The unit is in a fantastic location and has great potential. It’s spacious, well laid out, the refrigerator produces plenty of ice, and the AC works perfectly—making the space very comfortable in that regard.Unfortunately, cleanliness and maintenance were major concerns during our stay. While the countertops and appliances were wiped down, the rest of the unit appeared not to have been cleaned thoroughly in months, if not longer. We even found a receipt under the bed dated March 17, 2025, which reinforced that impression. There was mold on the ceiling, and the bathtub area had an opening into the attic—an unsettling discovery while showering. Surfaces throughout needed attention: the TV had fingerprints, light switches were dirty, the carpet looked unvacuumed, and the sofa bed had debris inside when opened, in addition to being very uncomfortable.Both sinks required maintenance—the water pressure was weak, and the bathroom sink did not drain properly. The bedroom lamp would not stay on, and the provided supplies were inadequate: only one partially used roll of toilet paper and a single extra kitchen trash bag.Outside, the issues continued. A pigeon infestation above the entryway left fresh droppings all over the light fixture, which appeared not to have been cleaned in months. On arrival, there were droppings on the door handle, which made for an unpleasant first impression.This property has a lot going for it in terms of space and location, needs a deep cleaning

The property was so great. The one thing I would say is there isn’t enough dishes. We had 3 plates, 1 coffee cup, and so other random items. There were enough pots and pans for our needs but we had to share the dishes.

Nice and cozy inside

At first arrival and 1 other time the neighbor was feeding wild birds so there was fresh dung all over the steps and handrails which we found disgusting. If you get past that the interior was very clean comfortable and well decorated. There is a nice small pool just steps behind the unit. There were several patches of grass not far for walking the dog and the beach is a 2 min. walk away. The patio has a small view of the Gulf of Mexico, but I wouldn't sit out there due to the neighbor's bird feeding. The 10-didget door lock was a little challenging at times but not hard to get used to.

Dog friendly-ish

If you’re booking one of these beach properties that is dog friendly, just be aware that there are not many places to take your dog out to the bathroom. The few places to take them have lots of stickers in the grass, which my dogs were not fans of as they stuck into their paw pads. Otherwise, we had a good stay. The island is quiet and close to a lot of things.

Lovely until the blood on my pillow

We had a lovely time here but finding someone else’s blood on the pillow I’d been using for 3 nights really ruined it for me. Someone just threw a pillowcase over it. Completely Unacceptable.

The condo was very nice, however I didn’t know what to do with the key when we left. I called (on hold for 20 minutes then hung up) replied to Vacasa email (generated response, so it didn’t send) and sent a message through their app (no reply)! I ended up putting it in the lockbox. Also, checkout message was sent at 8:00, 2 hours after I left. I had to pull over to respond because I was on the road. I gave the property manager a low rating cause I couldn’t get hold of anyone! I don’t know if that has anything to do with VRBO, but not pleased with VACASA.

Nice - could use a new fridge

The place was in a good location, easy to walk to the. beach. Was cute with nice decor and clean. The kitchen items were sparse, only 4 each of big plates, small plates, bowls and glasses/coffee cups. No wine glasses. Cooking pots, pans and utensils were adequate. I do suggest they replace the fridge. It is a side by side and the space doesn’t accommodate the freezer door to actually open. Thankfully we barely had any freezer food but couldn’t imagine if we had brought casseroles etc. I don’t think I would have been able to get them in.

Nice for the Price

The condo was tastefully decorated but the complex it is in, is very dated. We felt that the complex was strange to navigate, like you were going down a back alley to get to the condo. The condo was clean for the most part. We found some areas that had been looked over and not deep cleaned like we were told. Overall we were very happy with the place for the price we paid.

Nice place New furniture and kitchen.

Good location, Everything was great. Only thing water went out twice, for about 20 minutes each time. Don't blame property owner though. They do not have control over utilities going out. Over all great place, good price.
