  • Tropical Oasis Cottage #2 at 424 West Avenue East is a single-story modern-design cottage built around a private fenced-in tropical yard with a limestone patio, outdoor dining, fire pit, and grill. Inside, the open-concept living area flows into a full kitchen with an island, wine glasses stocked and ready, and a layout that's been consistently noted as clean, well-stocked, and right-sized. The private entrance keeps the feel of having the space entirely to yourselves, and the secured yard is why guests traveling with dogs book this one specifically.

    THE LAYOUT
    Open-concept single-story: living area with Smart TV and sofa sleeper, dining area, and full kitchen with island all in the same footprint. Private fenced-in yard accessible from the main level. In-unit washer and dryer. The compound gate connects to Cottage #1 for groups that book both units.

    THE KITCHEN
    Full kitchen with stove, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Kitchen island with stools and wine glasses. Dishes, utensils, and essentials included.

    THE BEDROOMS
    Two bedrooms sleep up to 6 across the home. Bedroom one has a queen bed; bedroom two has two twin/single beds. The living room sofa sleeper rounds out the sleeping for a group of 6. Bed linens, extra pillows, and blankets provided.

    OUTDOOR
    The fenced-in limestone patio yard is the main outdoor space: alfresco dining, a fire pit, and a grill for evening cookouts. An outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. The secured yard is the reason this works well for guests traveling with dogs.

    BEACH / LOCATION
    The Ave G beach access is about a 5-minute golf-cart ride away. Golf carts are bookable through PAVC. The Alister Street shops, restaurants, and bars are roughly a 2-minute drive, with Castaways Seafood and Grill, FINS Grill and Icehouse, and Tortuga's Saltwater Grill nearby. Shorty's Place has been here since 1946. This unit can also be combined with Cottage #1 through PAVC for larger groups.

    WHAT'S INCLUDED
    Bed linens and towels, full kitchen setup, in-unit washer and dryer, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fire pit, grill, and outdoor shower.

    THE LOCAL TEAM
    Tropical Oasis is managed by Port A Vacation Company, a local team based in Port Aransas. Our cleaners and maintenance crew are on our own payroll. Someone is reachable seven days a week if anything comes up.

Great place!

We had a great stay here. The place was clean, as described, well located, and communication was good. We liked the privacy of the fence around the property and enjoyed the yard with fire pit.

excellent stay at Tropical Oasis.. just right on location, amenities, furnishings and cleanliness. Couldn't have asked for better. Also liked the tropical courtyard a lot. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Coastal Getaway in Port Aransas!

Very nice Coastal Cottage. Near to beach and shopping. The cottage was very relaxing. TV in each room. Updated and new appliances. Air conditioner was awesome. Loved the space. Outdoors is a large fenced patio. We brought our pup. Will stay again if still available. Cottage is for sale. Wish I could buy this cottage.

Absolutely terrible. When first walking into the gate we were greeted with an overfilled garbage can that reeked and had flies all over it. Once we got into the house, it had a slight smell and was not clean. The fridge/freezer was not wiped out good, microwave had pieces of old food, floor had sand all over it, vent on living room ceiling was filthy, couch and other side chairs were torn to where we had to put a blanket on it to sit, the washer had sand all in it, the dryer had sand in it and the lent trap was so full of lent and sand that when you pulled it out sand dumped into the dryer even more. We contacted the agency and they sent someone over to come empty the trash can outside and wipe down the fridge/microwave. The main bedroom shower is slow to drain. The 2nd bedroom had no tv remote. There were only 4 towels, 2 of them beach towels and the other 2 were old crappy towels. We went and bought our own towels, wash clothes, plastic silverware, plates, skillet, and pot because their stuff was so old or dirty. Absolutely horrible. The place could be nice if someone actually took care of it. While I understand the property is up for sale it still should be maintained if they are renting it out. Or if they don’t want to keep up with her then remove it from rental listings.

Cute cabin a short drive from the beach

The cabin was decorated nicely and had two full bathrooms and a full kitchen with new appliances. The drive to the beach and shops was short and easy via car or golf cart (which you can rent from various companies nearby). We had a nice time, and the hosts were very communicative and gracious! The only thing is that we have stayed at many vacation rentals, and this one lacked basic items to make a guest’s stay truly “5-star” (like a small dish soap and paper towels and travel shampoos and bar soaps in each of the two bathrooms), which would have made it easier on those who arrive late to check in late such that it wouldn’t be necessary to run to the store immediately upon arriving). Other than that, it was a wonderful cabin - comfortable beds and very cute!
