We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 3-acre lodge, locasted near the small town of Coudersport. Communications with the owner were easy, cheerful and informative. Check-in was simple, and there was ample parking for several cars. The house was neat and very clean. The living room is comfortable with a large flat screen television. The living room also has a gas heater and we were a bit skeptical it would heat the entire hourse, but were pleasantly surprised that during the chilly nights of our stay, it was more than capable. For colder nights, there are electric baseboard heaters in the bedrooms. The kitchen was adequately stocked. The full bathroom between the kitchen and a small bedroom was handy.
Although it was just the two of us, we ended up staying in the larger upstairs bedroom because we preferred its softer bed. There's also a bunk bed and large TV. The upstairs 3/4 bathroom was clean, and the towels provided were soft and of good quality.
When not out exploring the countless local hiking and bike trails, we relaxed in the covered patio listening to the birds. During our stay we watched deer stroll through the yard, squirrels playing, and even a porcupine. The owner also provided food to feed the fish in the pond.
In short, we enjoyed our week chilling out, hiking, and visiting Wellsboro (about 40 minutes east). I think it would be an excellent choice as a base for winter sports.
Farmhouse friendly with sylvan views, lots of ATV trails,
Uttilized the fire pit, the patio, and thehouse was rustic yet comfortable. The location was great for antiques, putt putt golf and the steak house close by.
The property was perfect for our needs. We were there to visit with family as well as see the eclipse. This home had everything we needed. It was very comfortable.
My family and I came to see the stars at Cherry Springs State Park.
The house itself was beautiful and there was plenty of space for my family of 7.
Just slightly bummed that it wasn't 3-acres as described and we could only take baths because the upstairs staionary shower head was positioned in a way where you couldn't stand under it.
Overall we had a great time.
The property was beautiful inside qnd out, wonderful view of the mountains. wild deer would come at night looking for food and you could watch from the living room. Coudersport was a beautiful little town.
Property was beautiful, nice touches and hospitality. We went to Cherry Springs to do star gazing while the weather didnât cooperate we had a great time . Thank you
This property was very clean and everything was working fine. I would recommend renting this place and we will probably be back if it is available at the time we need it
Saw elk, pheasants, porcupine, deer and wild turkey. Enjoyed the firepit and heater on the porch. Main street Coudersport is adorable.
Drove to Hyners view. Researched Austin flood and Bayliss paper company demise. Found several friends cabins in the area.
First snow yet beautiful sunny warm days too.
We enjoyed out stay in Coudersport. We had a star gazing tour of the skies on a property very close to the house. The house is also very close to Cherry Spring State park where we also enjoyed the stars.
The house was immaculate and very cozy. We had everything we needed and loved eating outside every night. We enjoyed watching the different animals visit the backyard. It was a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
I recommend signing up for a tour at the Historical Society right in town and it was very interesting and informative. We also went to the Elliot Ness Museum and the Lumber Museum which was fun.
We recommend this house to all .
We loved staying at this property. It was really convenient to the attractions in the town of Coudersport and the various state parks nearby. The porch area is beautiful and wonderful for getting out of the sun while still enjoying the outdoors. Would recommend this property for a long weekend or week away.
The house and property were above and beyond the pictures on the website. Our family had the best time. We hadnât all been together in 6 years. A great place to make memories.
Five Pines Lodge is an incredible property. We just returned from a long weekend of stargazing. The home is very tastefully decorated. It has EVERYTHING you need. Grounds were well kept and the house is SPOT LESS. Not even a speck of dust to be found. Internet was fast and cellular reception very good. Great location close to Cherry Springs, Coudersport, Ice Mine and mini golf.
We took our family here for a long weekend getaway to visit Cherry Springs and see the fall foliage. This location did not disappoint and we spend almost our entire vacation in this wonderful home. With multiple locations to gather as a family, we enjoyed meals, games, drinks and laughter together. We even sat out by the fire pit nearly all night which was stocked with wood and had enough chairs for everyone.
This was an absolutely wonderful trip and we can't wait to return to this home in the future.
We booked Five Pines Lodge for a weekend getaway and for some star gazing at Cherry Springs State Park. The weekend was very relaxing, but star gazing was a total bust due to heavy cloud cover and rain the entire time we were in town.
The house is AMAZING! Charming and well equipped, modern and rustic at the same time. The grounds are beautiful and restful. We were visited by a family of five deer each day, usually twice a day.
We visited the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum just a short drive away -- very interesting and informative; and very well done!
We also took a drive down to Cherry Springs State Park -- about 10 miles from the house -- and look forward to a return trip in the future.
Highly recommend this property!

10/10
Enjoyed the house and location - had everything we needed.
This home is absolutely lovely. It is very clean and comfortable inside and outside.
Easy check in.
Liz is the caretaker and responded timely to any questions we had before and during our stay.
George is the groundskeeper. He was very helpful and friendly as well. The outdoor property is beautiful w a pond; hammock; fire pit that is all set up and ready to light; croque; bean bag toss; a covered porch area w comfortable seating with a ceiling fan, and nice lighting.
Really , the lighting inside and out is very nicely done. Everything is marked and there are lights on dimmers so the ambiance is really very pleasant.
Rooms have ceiling fans. There are plenty of windows so it is bright and cheery. There are acâs if need be.
Beds are comfortable. Nice towels.
Updated bathrooms.
Really the whole house is updated.
We really enjoyed our time at this property.
It was very pleasant watching the deer roam in the backyard while drinking coffee in the morning.
We would absolutely recommend this home to someone who is visiting the Coudersport area.
Loved it here. Liz and George were great. The house and grounds were immaculate. The house is a well loved and cared for family cabin that has loads of character, and has been updated so you have more the house vibe while maintaining the cabin "feel". If "glamping" is glamour camping, then this is a glamour cabin, or "glabin"? Was very comfy and we wanted for nothing. The grounds were such that we did not venture off the property as much as anticipated, but rather stayed and played outdoor games all day and then relaxed by the fire pit well into the evening. In that area of the large yard that backs up to the woods, there were regular visits by deer, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, birds flitting all over the place.......and even a porcupine. It was often like a scene from a Bambi movie - quite idyllic. There is a lovely pond as well with it's own cast of critters. For what is was, this was a spectacular property. And don't forget about the stargazing at Cherry Springs State Park - do not miss this on a clear might. The only downsides were that it was not so secluded as expected, with a few neighbors around and some close-by businesses but certainly not a factor, you're just not in the middle of nowhere (if that is what you are expecting)......and that because the house is in a valley you do hear the noise from the road a short distance away, but I'll imagine it's only noticeable as the area is so quiet other wise. Neither of these detracted from our enjoyment. I'd stay in this house again in a heartbeat. Enjoy!
