Hotel in guter Lage

Das Hotel liegt nur wenige Gehminuten vom Hauptplatz Cuencas entfernt. Die Zimmer sind ordentlich, gutes Bett, grosses Bad, heisses Wasser. Die meisten Zimmer liegen um einen Innenhof und haben auch nur ein Fenster zu diesem, es kann also jeder der draussen vorbeigeht, hereinsehen, aber es gibt einen Vorhang. Das einzige Manko: keiner der Hotelangestellten spricht Englisch, es ist also gut wenn man einige Brocken Spanisch spricht.

Great Value Hotel close to the historic center

This hotel is super close to the historic center of Cuenca, which as a whole is very safe. You can walk at night, get amazing food, etc. The hotel staff is super friendly, and everyone is very kind. Things to watch out for: the "game" room is a faulty pool table and foosball set, the internet on the 3rd floor is spotty, and the breakfast/hotel food is subpar. Long story short, not the type of hotel you want to spend the day in, but hey you're right next to everything you'd ever want to explore!

Clean and Spacious, but Average and Outdated

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. The staff at Hotel Cuenca were excellent and efficient, and the artwork in the hotel is very attractive. My room and bathroom were clean and spacious, the shower water pressure was good, and there was adequate hot water. However, I found the tub/shower area to be dangerous, i.e., slippery with no grab bars, with very high sides that added to the potential for slipping when stepping out of the shower. There was insufficient lighting in the bedroom and the bathroom, especially over the bathroom sink. Although there are many tourists from the U.S. visiting Cuenca, there were no English language TV stations. In the hallway outside of the rooms, there is a small step that is "camouflaged" by dark brown carpet with a geometric pattern that renders the step nearly invisible, causing me not to see the step, tripping, and falling heavily onto my knees. The step was not highlighted by any kind of fluorescent orange or yellow stripe or tape.

the big problem with this hotel is one can hear everything thru the walls. one can hear people in the entry and the TV in the next room. Fortunately it is turned off at 10:30pm

Very helpful staff

Very convenient to historical sites. Room and bathroom were small, but very clean. Restaurant had very good food, but could use new seating. Can't say enough about how we were treated by the staff. All three shifts the staff was superb.

Conforto no centro

O hotel fica bem no centro de Cuenca o que facilita bastante passear pela cidade. O quarto era confortável, bem amplo e limpo. O chuveiro era um pouco instável. Café da manhã com bastante opções.

Hotel cuenca

EL hotel esta bien situado a un par de cuadras de la plaza principal. La atención del mismo es muy buena. El desayuno es bastante pobre, deberian de otorgar un poco mas de variedad. Las habitaciones era amplias, pero la ducha bastante incomoda para bañarse. El personal muy atento. Una vez hospedada ahi.

Hotel staff was so helpful.

Unfortunately, my wife was sick upon arrival and they let us check in early so she could lay down. The following day they called for a doctor and a staff employee came up to the room to act as an interpreter. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. We would stay there again.
