The yard was perfect for the dogs and the neighborhood was nice. The listing was somewhat misleading in claiming to provide a garage (a major selling point for us) only to have a driveway. The biggest issue was cleanliness and smell. The house was dirty. The house smelled overwhelmingly of urine—to the point where we had to clean on a daily basis and use our own blankets to sit on furniture. The host offered to have someone come in to steam clean. We appreciated this offer but were not comfortable or able to accommodate having a cleaner come in while we were in town for work traveling with our dogs and such cleaning would prevent further use of the furniture anyway. While we appreciate the host’s readiness to help we would hope that for what we paid (not to mention the pet deposits) that we could have avoided being subjected to such an unsanitary environment. Hopefully, pet deposits and cleaning fees will actually go towards house maintenance in the future because it could be a pleasant stay if given the minimal attention it deserves.
