Definitely nice for the price. My own little space. It was in a good location. We pretty much walked everywhere. Thereâs a pub right next door and walking the Brazen Head was about 10 to 15 minutes and Temple Bar only 15 to 20. The only thing I didnât like is that my room smelled like wet dog⊠but I think it may have been the sheets and towels. I wasnât there enough to be too bothered by it. And parking was ok. I canât complain bc itâs like being in Chicago. Paid parking. But there were streets where after 7pm was free and one street time didnât start until 8am where others were 7am. I just used the app to pay. Overall I would stay again. Front desk was always nice.
This is a no frills accommodation albeit in good shape. The rooms have the basics. They could use hand towels and hooks for your towels. The common kitchen area is well stocked with dishes and basic pots... fridge... hotpot...toaster. Our biggest issue was the noise level. The doors all make a loud sound when opening and shutting and the doors shut hard. You can hear everything in your suite area. If you have late nite neighbors even ear plugs don't really help.
My stay was fun, the kitchen and living room had everything needed to have a warm and welcoming stay. The bedrooms were spacious but very dusty in certain places but overall well cleaned. A lot of space in the The Residence to be entertained in door and outdoor. The staff was more than accommodating and help. Iâd like to shout to Fin and Simone for their excellent customer service, as well as Aaron for being an absolute Peach and loving to learn about Canadian culture.
The staff never clean our room. We were running out of soap and we had to go to reception to beg for a little bar of soap. I will never go that place again.
The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. They were very helpful with all of our needs. When I asked for help with the laundry, the host came out to help me directly. Gym was such a nice bonus!
You pay for what you get. If you are just using this space as a place to rest your head at night fine. There was one lady at the front desk who was needlessly rude and unaccomodating but the rest of the staff were great. We did have to purchase our own draino to unclog the shower drain on the first night as the lady at the front desk wouldnt do anything. There was a layer of dust on everything when we arrived and dead bugs in the window sill but again, you pay for what you get. The fan in the bathroom didnt work so it was very humid after a shower.
So, this is not the most glamorous stay by any means. You are in a college dorm and so things are tight. However, for housing in Dublin right now, it is a very, very good value. The area felt safer than much of the city and was close to a bus station. The communal area was also very nice. And the hot water really works!
The Expedia page had said check in was at 2pm, although check in was actually at 4pm. Front desk were not super accommodating. The place itself was clean and conformable.
