Cottage Sunset River

This waterfront romantic nautical cottage will not disappoint. Nestled along the peaceful shoreline of the Elk River, Sunset River Cottage offers a front-row seat to some of the most breathtaking sunsets in the Chesapeake Bay area. With year-round water views, cozy charm, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect escape for couples looking for romance, friends gathering for a weekend getaway, or anyone craving a slower pace surrounded by nature.

From the moment you step inside, you will be greeted by the warmth and character only a true cottage can offer. This isn’t the Ritz-Carlton, it is a quirky, beautiful waterfront retreat where charm matters more than chandeliers and comfort is found in the little details. It is meant for guests who appreciate simple pleasures, stunning views, and a relaxed atmosphere, not for fancy, pretentious travelers seeking luxury resort amenities. Nautical touches, airy colors, and large windows bring the water indoors, while soft lighting creates a calm and relaxed vibe. The open living space is perfect for curling up with a good book, sharing a bottle of wine, or simply watching the river sparkle in the afternoon sun.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at your own pace, whether it is a romantic dinner for two or a casual brunch with friends. The dining table is perfectly positioned to capture panoramic river views, making every meal feel extra special.

The bedroom is a peaceful retreat with soothing tones and a cozy cottage feel that invites restful sleep. The bathroom is antique and quirky, featuring a charming soaking tub with a shower and a one-of-a-kind custom shell sink that adds character to the space. During the summer season, guests can also enjoy a refreshing outdoor shower surrounded by nature, perfect after a swim in the river.

Step outside and you will discover the heart of Sunset River Cottage, the private backyard patio overlooking the water. It is the perfect spot to sip wine as the sky explodes in shades of orange, pink, and purple. The fire pit invites laughter and storytelling under the stars, while the direct waterfront access means you can swim, kayak, paddleboard, fish, or simply dip your toes in the Elk River whenever the mood strikes. Swimming is a lot of fun here, and guests are welcome to bring their own kayak, paddleboard, and fishing gear to make the most of the river.

Located just minutes from Chesapeake City, you will be close to waterfront dining, boutique shops, and seasonal festivals. Explore the charming streets, take a boat tour, or indulge in fresh seafood before returning to your peaceful riverside hideaway.

Whether you are here for romance, friendship, or simply to slow down, Sunset River Cottage delivers a memorable waterfront escape. It is a little quirky, a lot beautiful, and entirely unforgettable, where every sunset feels like it was painted just for you. Book your stay and let the Elk River work its magic.
