This was one of the most equipped homes we have ever stayed in. The owners where super nice. The house was very private with outstanding views. I could not say enough how spectacular the home was. We would highly recommend this home if you have plans to visit the area. You will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and it was the perfect getaway! Nice and secluded and it was really cool to stay in the Rocky Mountains! Such a wonderful experience and it's close to Yellowstone so we were able to explore the park for a couple days too!

The start of a new journey!
If I could, would have given it 100 stars! This property is absolutely amazing. With... as was described several times on our trip... million dollar views. Everything we needed or wanted was at this location. Loved having a fire going in the fire pit in the morning to have coffee dates to having fires in evening as the sun set to having fires later at night with a million stars in the sky... all the wood we needed was already there... the hot tub was just an added bonus. The house was as comfortable as advertised... down to even an iron and ironing board for our formal attire for our elopement. The house is surrounded by nothing but beauty and is conveniently located only four miles from Emigrant... 30 min give or take either way from Gardiner and Livingston, as well as the North Entrance to Yellowstone. Mary even sent us a informative list of local hotspots to eat at, activities in the area (hiking, etc.)... and even provided bear spray knowing we would be doing a lot of hiking and exploring while we were there. Thank you so much Mary for making our special week with myself and my new bride such an increedible memorable experience.

Amazing views, clean, and cozy!
We chose this home based on the views, and we were not disappointed. Sitting high on top of a mountain, this home offers privacy and spectacular mountain views. The home was so clean and spacious. The linens and mattresses were soft and cozy. Past guests had left behind plenty of items that were of use to us (cooler, Bear spray, ice packs, bug spray, ect). We got a lot of use out of the hot tub, which also has amazing mountain views. Firewood was provided for outdoor and indoor fires. A window unit a/c in the living area provided enough to cool the home even in mid-July. We enjoyed both Keurig and drip coffee along with blended frozen drinks. The north Yellowstone entrance is only about 40 min south, and is an easy and scenic drive. The best part of the trip was having an awesome host, Mary, who was quick to respond and makes her guests feel so welcome and taken care of. Thank you Mary!! We will be returning!!

This is our second time staying at this house. I can't say enough about it. It's a few minutes off the road but the drive itself is spectacular. Wonderful views of the valley the whole way. The location provides plenty of privacy with expansive views of Paradise Valley. The house has everything you will need. The owner is very responsive with any questions.

A Little Slice Of Heaven
If you want beautiful views, privacy and quiet, then this is the place for you! The road up to the house is partially paved and partially gravel and takes a little under 15 minutes to get to from the main road. Don't let this intimidate you, as the result is well worth the drive. We enjoyed expansive views of Emigrant Peak from the house and everything we needed for our one week stay was at our fingertips. Paradise Valley has plenty of things to do including hiking, rafting on the Yellowstone, wildlife viewing, and more. There is a small general store about 10 miles from the house. We were able to get everything we needed for our stay. Things to Do: The north entrance of Yellowstone is about 45 minutes from the property. You go through the small town of Gardiner to get there. Gardiner has a larger grocery store and has some places to eat. Bozeman is about an hour from the house and has plenty of shopping and restaurants. Our favorite place to dine out was the Old Saloon (across from the general store). This place had ambiance, decent food and was very convenient to the property. The bedroom upstairs (in the loft) was a wonderful experience. There is little privacy up there, but enough to make it enjoyable. And you can't beat the views from this room. There are two additional bedrooms on the main level. Mary, the property owner, was a joy to communicate with. We did not have to, but knew we could reach out if we needed anything. Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Chico Hot springs. The house is amazing and Mary was super helpful. We had a great time exploring Yellowstone, surrounding areas, Livingston, fishing, etc. We especially enjoyed the cute general store, the hot tub, and making s’mores. We will be back!!

This property is amazing and we loved the views. The owner was great to communicate with and provided lists of restaurants and things to see and do. We had an amazing horseback ride in Paradise Valley, hiked the Pine Creek Trail, and did a lot of back road driving taking in all the beauty. Would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away and relax.

If you are looking for a house with everything you've found it. I have rented over 50 houses in Montana over the years and this in the top five. Extremely well equipped. The views are just fantastic and completely secluded. I really can't say enough about this place. I'm already trying to figure out when I am going back next year.

This is a beautiful house with stunning views and top-notch amenities. The environment is supremely quiet, but with close access to the Northern entrance of Yellowstone (although it wasn't open when we visited due to flooding). There are also close-by activities like horseback riding and white water rafting. My family and I enjoyed our stay completely.

This was a wonderful family vacation - we had it planned for over a year then like most vacationing in Yellowstone this year the flood came and we needed to change up our plans. Mary was very upfront about what was required and what she to do as far as accommodating our changes it all worked out beautifully. We enjoyed our time at this mountain home and hope to be returning visitors!

Yellowstone Adventure
What an adventure for our first trip to Yellowstone! We had a party of six (four adults, two children) making our first trip to Yellowstone. Little did we know that we would be caught up in the "100-year" flood of the Yellowstone River. We were cut off from Gardiner to the south by a road collapse, but luckily the road north to Livingston was only temporarily impacted by water over the road. Our host, Mary, was in constant contact providing needed updates on the situation. The home itself exceeded our expectations. Everything was very clean (including the gas grill outside), beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious, and the pantry was exceptionally well-stocked with essentials. The views were spectacular! Regardless of our flood experience, we enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend this home to anyone planning to visit Yellowstone and the surrounding area.

Everything was great!
Everything was great and we’ll explained. The only thing that was incorrect from the photos is the one bedroom does not have a bunk bed. It still sleeps 3 but not as the picture shows. Everything else was right on and as described. Clean and beautiful property.

Stop looking
$1M view with privacy you've only imagined. Way up on a hillside, looking down at Paradise Valley and Emigrant Peak always in view. Property is very close to Yellowstone's north entrance. In short, if you are looking for an amazing place to decompress, stop looking and stay here. It's that simple.

Simply wonderful
Mary is simply one of the most gracious hosts we’ve ever encountered. She was accommodating in a way that made our check-in and entire stay absolutely stress free. The home is immaculate, extremely clean and modern and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy wonderful meals on the patio. The hot tub was a highlight for our son who asked if he could “take a hot tub” almost everyday. The peace and quiet with lovely mountain views during the day and a million stars at night were highlights for us adults. We can’t say enough good things about this home and about Mary and her husband. We would absolutely stay again.

Summer fun in Yellowstone!
We just got home from an incredible vacation and wanted to make sure we reviewed this fabulous property right away. It is about a 40 minute drive to the north Gate of Yellowstone park. To get to the property there is a winding road that takes you to a lovely home high on the mountain side. Sitting outside watching beautiful sunrises were part of our daily routine. Coming home in the evening, fixing a wonderful dinner, and hopping in the Jacuzzi Was part of our evening routine. We had a couple questions and called and /or texted Mary and both she and Robert we’re super responsive. We use VRBO almost exclusively for all of our vacations so we stay in a number of homes. (There are 6 of us) This home would definitely be at the top of our list! Just so people are aware the treck up the dirt road to get to the house is a little rough, but it’s a small price to pay to get to Paradise. One final thing, on our way down the mountain each morning, We would see deer along the roadway. A perfect way to start the day !

The Perfect get-a-way House
I have used VRBO and other home rental sights a lot. Of all the places I have stayed this one met every expectation I had and then some!!! I knew it was going to be pretty good just by the pictures but they do not do it justice. It was the perfect get a way from it all house without being to far away. The house had every thing you look for including the little things like all the utensils, plenty of towels, sharp knives, garbage bags, storage bags etc.... The beds were comfortable and closet and storage space was great. The view thru the big front windows was amazing every time you looked out at Emirgrant Peak and the mountain range. The house was located on a gravel dirt road but it was well maintained no problems. It took us about 40 minutes to get to the North entrance of Yellowstone which out west is like going to store for milk or bread. The Host, Mary Wallace was very nice and always responded by text when ever I needed something answered. I thought this was very professional as I found out her husband was in hospital with pneumonia. Put her at a 6 star on the five star scale. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to go out west to see some of the many wonderful things this area offers and the ability to escape all the tourist insanity and to go back to a secluded hide-a way every night. They may find that they will spend more time at The Alpine Lodge just enjoying being with friends, family or just each other. Thank you Mary for sharing your wonderful get a way!!!!

Secluded oasis.
What an amazing property. Views for miles and a cozy house. Extremely clean and comfortable. The owner, Mary, was such a pleasure to work with. She made sure we were taken care of, which we most certainly were. As others have said, you need to be prepared for a 12-15 minute drive from the main road to the house, but once you get there, you will understand why it’s worth the drive. Book this property, you will not be disappointed. Also, make sure you try the BBQ place called follow your nose in Emigrant. Great food and a great atmsosphere.

Beautiful home, great location and wonderful host!
Thank you, Mary, for sharing your beautiful home! The home was close enough to the Bozeman airport, beautiful, comfortable and quiet. Everything that we could possibly need was found in your home. 2 adult couples stayed here and we had plenty of room. The view and location were just what we were looking for. (I do suggest bringing a sleep mask if you’re staying in the loft room bc it seems to NEVER get dark in MT! 😂). We spent 2 days at Yellowstone and the rest of our trip was enjoyed at the house, hiking (wonderful hiking book in the house that we used religiously!), eating in Pray/Emigrant/Livingston. Our favorite restaurants were The Sage Inn in Pray (not sure if I am remembering that name correctly), The Outpost in Emigrant and we did love Mark’s In & Out in Livingston after hiking. Stunning property and attentive host
This Emigrant home was all we could hope for and more. My wife, young adult daughter, and I stayed here during the first week of June and found it to be a spectacular home for us. The property sits high in the hills over Paradise Valley looking directly at Emigrant Peak. The views are simply stunning either sitting outside at the fire ring, in the hot tub, or waking up in the loft bedroom or large downstairs bedroom. You will never become bored with the gorgeous surroundings. The house is beautiful and full of all the amenities you may need for a comfortable stay. We had no issues with kitchen equipment, laundry supplies, or internet/television. The bathrooms are all well stocked with towels and products for baths. There is plenty of fire wood for chilly evenings in the fireplace or fire ring outside. The propane grill was well maintained and clean. The upstairs loft can get a tad hot in the heat of the day, but there is an air conditioner that can be used to quickly cool the home. Open windows at night were all we needed for a very comfortable sleep. Be aware that the property is a bit away from the main highway on a long gravel road. It takes a good 11 to 15 minutes to get from the highway to the house, but the drive has many beautiful views as you wind your way to the top. We had no problems on the road in a two wheel drive SUV, and while steep in various locations of the road, we were never concerned with navigation of the road. Just know that it is a bumpy and long drive down or up the hill, but well worth it! There is a small store in Emigrant that had all of the food and supplies we needed. It is just a few miles north once you pull onto the main highway. In Emigrant there are also a few fun restaurants, with Chico Hot Springs as a great location for food and bar service. We were centrally located between Livingston and Gardiner, Montana. This allowed us to easily drive into Yellowstone or even to Bozeman. Hiking and outdoor activities are abundant in the area. You will not be bored! Lastly, I'd like to compliment the host, Mary, on her attentiveness to our needs. She is a terrific host. We had no issues finding the property or entering the home because of her fantastic directions. I highly recommend this property if you are traveling to the Paradise Valley area. Be prepared for a beautiful home with breathtaking views.

The home accommodations were very pleasant, the patio had an awesome view filled with peace and quiet. You expect a short drive to have this awesome view that never failed to bring smiles both in the morning and the evening. (Having grown up in Mt I found the road to be very driveable realizing one should not race to the top or the bottom.) I definitely would stay at this VBRO again.

Amazing view, impeccable dwelling, the road off HWY 89 to get there is gravel, rough and long. No A/C and not enough opening windows to offset it. Other than long gravel drive, very nicely situated between Bozeman/Livingston and Yellowstone. The 10th sleeping position is a trundle with a subpar mattress. Hot tub is pedestrian. A few tweaks would make it a 4.5.

Thank you Anna, for taking the time to write a review. However, I must correct your statement about the A/C. There is a very effective fully operational window unit in the living room which I'm guessing you never saw, and that's really unfortunate. The A/C controls are directly on the unit itself, not at the wall thermostat. The trundle bed is bed #11 and not really intended for sleeping, since we advertise the house as accommodating 10 people and not 11, we don't generally anticipate it being used.

I tend to have high standards when I travel and I could write a book on how special this home is. The finishes of it's exterior and interior are exactly what you see in the photos and the view is truly magical. I live a stressful life in NYC and this place gave me true peace for the 7 days I was there. Mary was also a wonderful host who stayed out of our way but was also immediately available if we had a questions. 5 out of 5 stars!

The only reason I did not give five stars for everything is the long drive up the mountain from the man road to the house. Of course, the elevation makes the views even better, but the added 15 minutes every day up and down gets a little tough if you drive through Yellowstone everyday. The location to Yellowstone is great. It is less than 30 minutes, and the northwestern entrance is rarely crowded. The house was perfect and again, the views were spectacular!

Hidden Gem of North Yellowstone!
My family of 4 (w/2 teens) stayed here in June, and I can say that of ALL the Vrbo properties we have stayed at, THIS one was definitely the BEST. The views are spectacular. Pictures simply do NOT do it justice. Quiet, serene, and perfect if you want to get off the grid, and reveal in the beauty of nature. This property was the cleanest place we've ever stayed, hands down. Mary has everything you need- from spices, to a cooler for trips into the park. Her communication from start to finish was amazing, and her recommendations were spot on. You should note that the property is located about a 20 minute drive from the main road, winding UP a mountain. And part of it is gravel. You should plan ahead, and try not to come back too late at night. We just took it slow, and it was fine. Additionally, it was helpful to leave EARLY in the day, with lunch in hand, to visit the park, while keeping a crockpot full of dinner cooking at home. We had planned to visit several restaurants, but in the end, we cancelled reservations because we just wanted to spent more time at this rental. I would highly recommend the rafting & horseback riding trips through Wild West Rafting in Gardiner. We did visit the towns of Livingston and Bozeman, and both had quite a few things to do and see. Overall, this property was everything we wanted for a beautiful first trip to Montana. To be honest, I got teary eyed when leaving. We absolutely will be back. Thank you Mary! A+++++++

Million dollar view!!!
This home is so amazing you will feel like Mom and dad have trusted you with the keys to the new family luxury car!! I read previous reviews after I booked and advice was all on point. The house is a nice drive so once in for the day you probably will want to stay in and grill a nice steak or bison burger and enjoy the magnificent views from the hot tub!! We purchased some frozen ground bison from the Town and Country grocery store along with a couple of steaks, baking potatoes , ,fresh veggies and local wine and felt like we were the luckiest people in the world eating out on the patio and taking in the view. We prepared extra sides the first night and it made meal prep quick other nights. We also picked up to go BBQ down in Emigrant which is just a little drive North on the main highway. All of Mary’s recommendations were on point too as far as restaurant choices. We stayed a week and wanted to stay longer !! Everything in this home is well thought out. If you are cooking at the house all of the equipment is top notch. She even has a spice rack with just about every spice you can think of. The beds are also super comfy. We are mattress snobs and are spoiled with our i comfort Serta mattress and found she had a similar type if not the same mattresses in the house. On a hunerous note I purchased bear spray ahead of time and it was delivered to our home in Ocean Springs , Ms only to learn that I could not take it , even in original package and checked , on the plane!!! I was determined not to let purchase go to waste so shipped via UPS to the house. Wonderful Spot!
We recently spent two weeks at the house enjoying all that Paradise Valley has to offer (including a lot of fishing!). I echo everyone else's comments - the house is beautiful, brand new, very well designed, and completely stocked with everything you'd want for a vacation home. There are big windows that take advantage of the views, a lovely patio for breakfast and dinner and, of course, the fire pit (where we made S'more's...). One thing that was interesting - even though we had some 90+ degree days when we were out there, because of being up on the mountain and the new construction, the house does a great job of staying naturally cool. Although they had recently installed a wall a/c unit, we never turned it on. The house is also absolutely private - you can see no roads or other homes from the back deck and hot tub, and it is far enough up the hill that only the rare car drives by. In fact, it is so rare that you'll notice when it happens. Sitting outside, the only sounds are of wind, grasshoppers, and other wildlife that may visit. I should also mention that when a handful of small issues arose, Mary was extremely attentive and took care of things right away. The only thing worth noting is that the privacy and amazing views come at a small price. The house is situated about 4.5 miles and 1,000 feet above Hwy 89, the main road through the valley. From the 89 turn off it's a little under 15 minute drive up the hill, much of that on a windy dirt road. So, you're not going to be running to the corner store for a quart of milk. We just planned our schedule around this and usually made one trip off the property each day and would stay out for awhile, which is what you're usually going to want to do in this area anyway (like if you go fishing, or take a trip down into Yellowstone Park). I would highly recommend this house to someone looking for a beautiful, well-equipped, and private home, with killer views.

Beautiful and stunning property!
This home was exceptional! The views are amazing and breathtaking. If you are looking for a place to get away, rest, recharge, and enjoy peace, this is the perfect option. There wasn’t a detail missed from a fully stocked kitchen, grill, hot tub, comfortable beds, extra linens, and shower necessities. It was very clean, tidy, and organized. It also is very spacious and has well appointed rooms. Mary was extremely easy to work with and she provided excellent suggestions of things to do in the area. She was very kind and made sure we had an excellent vacation.

Beautiful home in an amazing setting!
This is a beautiful home in amazing setting. We love the breathtaking views, the walks up the road exploring the area were wonderful. We enjoyed the hot tub and a fire pit. The home is beautifully furnished with everything that you need. It was furnished just like home. It was an easy day trip to Yellowstone National Park. The owner also recommended a local hike which was wonderful with the waterfall at the end. We love the area. The owner was very attentive. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful, well apointed cabin in the Montana mountains.
Our family of five had a wonderful, relaxing time in Emigrant at this cabin. The property manager, Mary, was super personable and quick to respond to all of our questions leading up to our trip. The home is well stocked with literally everything you need to enjoy your time there from family necessities like laundry supplies to nice body wash and shampoo/conditioner to a well stocked kitchen and books/movies for any down time. Our family would definitely stay at this property in the future.

Nothing but WOWS
My first trip to Montana and I brought my kids 17 yrs and up. Coming from Brooklyn NY, you can imagine the excitement of seeing gorgeous mountains surrounding us with snow peaks in 80 degree weather. Just off the main highway is a 6 mile curvy road to this new gorgeous home. Listening to all my kids and wife wowwing everything and loving every moment of the spectacular views made me filled with excitement. Needing to drive slowly up this narrow road, we finally arrived at the home. We were like kids in a candy store running thru the house to see every part of it. Stunning everything!! The furniture, kitchen, doors, lighting, everything is just stunning and this home was clearly designed and furnished by a seasoned master decorator. Unlike many homes I rent from Homeaway, this house was super clean, fully stocked with seasoning, plenty of garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels, full bottles of soap and shampoo. Every room has a spectacular view of the mountains. The hot tub comfortably seats 4 and was actually hot and ready to use. Any other rental hits you up with extra fees, but not this rental. Firewood was supplied for the firepit where we spent every night sitting around enjoying our company. Several times Does and Bucks would show up right at the door steps. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the bottom floor and the top floor is a loft with a King bed, bathroom and two spacious closets. All the bedding is the type you would want for your own home. There are no doors on the loft and if you like to sleep earlier than the rest, take a room downstairs. There is no AC in the home but I can say at night, it cools down and nothing better than sleeping with that fresh air. This house is a FIND and after looking at many other homes, I am so glad we chose this one. The owner is readily available to answer any questions and is super helpful. I just hope this place is available next time back in Montana. This home really made our trip 5 stars!!

This beautiful house overlooks Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone River. Gorgeous!
My husband and I recently spent time at this exquisite mountain get-away! We were delighted with the accommodations, and with Mary's helpfulness. The views from the house are breath-taking: stunning mountain ranges and a lovely valley. There were sweet little birds and chipmunks right outside our door! Wonderful!
My family and I had the opportunity to stay in this house and what a special location it is. The view is absolutely to die for, finishes in the house are top quality and the overall comfort was there. We were able to bring a ton of food in and cook at home, there was plenty of space for my 18mo to run around and enjoy herself and definitely more space than our family of three needed. The house has 2 bedrooms downstairs, with one as a smaller master, including it's own bathroom and an incredible view. The second bedroom had a double bunk bed (twin up top, full on the bottom) AND a daybed. There was an additional bathroom downstairs, with a shower and laundry space. Upstairs was the main master - which is a loft area overlooking the entire house, and again the stellar view. The bathroom was spectacular, with a huge soaking tub and a good sized shower. Also worth noting - the bed was quite comfy, allowing for multiple nights of good sleep. Overall, this home was a wonderful place to stay. It immediately felt like home and allowed us to easily get to Yellowstone (45 minutes) or to the cute larger town of Livingston, which had great food and a wonderful park to let our little one run around in. Would highly recommend to families or friends and cannot wait to get back!
