However, many of our guests choose our hotel because our rates at this time of year are less than 50% of the average rate charged by the hotels nearby. We are booked out completely almost every day at this time of year and we are pleased that we live up to the expectations of most of our other guests, to whom we are very grateful.

Dear Guests, Your disappointment in finding a twin-bedded room is understandable, but you should have requested a double-bedded room when you reserved . This does not give you the right to invent stories and tell lies about your stay in our hotel, which has been a hotel for over one hundred and twenty years! We have always had excellent reviews regarding the cleanliness of our hotel in over twenty-three years of management, so we do not accept your criticism in this respect. Your room and bathroom were carefully cleaned and checked before your arrival. We actually agreed "with a smile" to change a sheet that you had badly soiled with blood in accordance with our idea that "the customer is always right". Were you expecting all the sheets to be changed every day in a one star hotel at a special rate of Euro 22.00 per person per night? We can only say that the mess that you left in your room on your day of departure shocked us completely! It took us two hours to clean up the room and prepare it for the new guests.

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us and for "bearing with" our old, atmospheric pensione. Our hotel (not a B&B) opened in the late 1800s, therefore it has been in business as a hotel for more than 120 years. Our beautiful 1500s building has historical limitations and we clearly describe our facilities on the agency websites which specify that it is currently a one-star hotel without air conditioning. There is a perfectly functioning elevator in the building and we do not understand why you call it a "manual elevator". All guests who contact us receive answers to important questions before they make their prepaid non-reimbursable reservation. We are now even more grateful to all our guests who know the difference between a hotel and a B&B and to those who remember why they chose the most affordable option on the most desirable street, instead of choosing a much more expensive hotel.

Dear Guest, For 120 years, our hotel has been offering simple facilities in a beautiful historical building in an unbeatable location at one-third of the rates of the neighbouring hotels. How to respond to someone who does not sign their name and who does not make one or more specific complaints. The amount of information regarding our 120 year old hotel in guidebooks for many decades and on agency websites in recent years allows our guests to purposefully choose to stay in our one-star hotel in the heart of the city. No one forces any guest to stay here against their will. We are very disappointed that a guest could blame our hotel (or any other) for not having chosen the "right" hotel at the right price for their needs.
