4-Season Waterfront Oasis Acadia

Affectionately called the “Maine Squeeze,” this modern space is located 30 minutes from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor (can take up to 45 minutes during high season with traffic). With direct water access and sweeping water views from the deck, you can enjoy the best of Maine living! Enjoy ice skating, hiking, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, camp fires, and more.
~ Keyless Entry
~ Pellet Stove
~ Fire Pit & Solo Stove
~ 2 Kayaks & 2 SUP Boards
~ Fully Equipped Kitchen
~ Outdoor deck & gas grill
~ Hi-Speed WiFi & Roku Smart TV

Truly a waterfront oasis, when you enter the home you will be struck by the radiant natural light and near panoramic views of Hog Bay.

~Location~
This property provides the best of both worlds - privacy, tranquility, and everything you would want in a bay front house while being located close to the attractions of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Conveniently located 12 miles from downtown Ellsworth, 24 miles from Acadia National Park, 29 miles from Bar Harbor, and 50 minutes from Bangor International Airport.

~Deck and Fire Pit~
Enjoy your complimentary morning coffee or tea watching the sunrise in rocking chairs and end the day with a smoke-free bonfire in the Solo Stove relaxing in Adirondack chairs. Don’t forget ingredients to make s’mores as you can find marshmallow roasting sticks in the kitchen.

There is also a gas grill and outdoor table that seats six surrounded by string lights that set the mood and turn the deck and outdoor seating area into a cozy entertainment space.

~Kitchen and Dining Room~
The kitchen comes fully equipped with all standard appliances, a Keurig with a coffee pot, electric kettle, french press, and more. The dining room is accented with a modern electric fireplace and table that seats six.

~Living Room~
The living room has a top of the line electric pellet stove for added warmth in the winter months and cold nights. The living room also has a 55” Smart Roku TV that allows for unlimited streaming capability. You have the ability to log into your streaming services in "guest mode" that will automatically log you out of on the date of your departure. There is no cable TV.

Cell phone service can be spotty in the area, but the house is equipped with high speed 300mbps WiFi.

This is our favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee, as the room is filled with natural light as the sun rises.

There are decks of cards, board games, books, and two yoga mats for your enjoyment. We ask that you leave them at the property when you check-out for the next guests.

~Bedroom 1 (The Blue Room)~
One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a private closet with two full-length mirrors, nightstand lights and an overhead light, and a portable tower fan.

~Bedroom 2 (The Green Room)~
One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a private closet with one full-length wall mounted mirror, nightstand lights and an overhead light, and a portable tower fan.

~The Loft~
One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a free-standing closet, and nightstand lights and an overhead fan-light combination.

~Bathroom~
Well lit, modern bathroom with two vanities and two mirrors. A hairdryer, plenty of hooks, storage, and shelf space throughout, in addition to a full shower/tub with high-pressure handheld shower head and wall mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We also provide round cotton pads, Q-tips, and body lotion.

Guests have full access to the house except one locked closet in the downstairs hallway. Additionally, guests are asked to limit their use of the basement to the washer and dryer and to access kayak and SUP paddles and life jackets. The detached garage is off limits.

We have two video and audio recording cameras on the outside of the property; one that overlooks the driveway and garage and one video and audio recording camera on the front door.

We require the guest who books the house to provide us with a photocopy of their drivers license.

The house does not have central air conditioning, but there is an AC window unit in the living room. Each room is equipped with either a portable tower fan or ceiling mounted fan to cool the space.

There is a full washer and dryer located in the basement for guest use.

If you plan on fishing, make sure you stop at Walmart in Ellsworth to purchase a fishing license.

We are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs, but please note the following details:
- No pets on any furniture
- Please clean up after your pets; there are doggy waste bags located on the bookshelf in the Living Room
- There is an additional $125 pet fee

Family trip
This was our first trip to Franklin, we came to visit family. The house was perfect. Sat on a beautiful piece of property over looking a bay. We watched the tide come in each day. The sunrise was gorgeous. The house was very well equipped. Very good communication with the owner, and we had a wonderful time. My only comment would be the beds are very firm, so if you’re not used to that, I’d bring something to cushion the mattress. Other than that, wonderful home to rent.

Cute Cabin on a Beautiful Property
My husband and I stayed here with another couple while visiting Acadia! We loved our stay here! The property is absolutely beautiful! While it is a little bit of a drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor, we still found it super convenient and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the location. The house was fully stocked with spices, coffee and cooking supplies. I would definitely book here again.

Pretty view
We had a great stay here for our family vacation. The view was beautiful. To access the water to paddle board and/or kayak is limited due to the tide. Ride was about 35 minutes to Acadia but we found the eastern Acadia and explored the Schoodic Peninsula. That was recommended by a local store owner. It was closer to the house.

Relaxing time in Maine
Excellent property with little extras that make a difference from books to bug spray to sticks for marshmallow roasting. Lovely home and good communication from hosts. We loved our first Maine visit.

Family trip
The house was clean, comfortable, and accurately portrayed in the listing. The property owner was in timely communication with us when we asked a question. They gave great tips on local and area to do’s which to me is going above and beyond the expectation. We enjoyed our time at the house and loved the outdoor scenery. I had a great big fire lit every night!!

Great for access to Acadia, but out of the bustle
Really enjoyed our 4 nights at this location in late July 2023. Communication with hosts was great. Almost immediate responses to any messages. The property was great - newly refurbished, clean, decently appointed, Wi-Fi. The outdoor space is the superstar. I took coffee every morning on the deck - super peaceful and a million dollar view. A bald eagle landed on the line tree just past the inlet - which was super cool. We did a campfire one night, went out on the water twice. Mosquitos are pretty aggressive in the evening on the lawn - put bug spray on! The high and low tides are completely different - you probably have a window of high tide +/- 2 hours where you can get out in the watercraft. We got to pretty much all of Acadia - from Bass Harbor Headlight to the Schoodic Peninsula. It’s about 35-40 minutes to the main visitor center on MDI. It’s not quite 30 to the Schoodic Institute. It is remote, but WalMart is < 20 min away for any needed supplies. It was quite hot the week we were there, so the bedrooms were a little warm. There was a window AC unit in the family room. To be fair, this is probably usually not an issue. It looks well appointed for colder months with a wood burning pellet stove and an electric fireplace. I would absolutely consider returning here if I vacationed in this part of the country often.

Long weekend getaway
The house is well appointed in a quiet bay in Franklin. Nice views and very quiet. The area was very tranquil. The location of the property is a longer drive to Bar Harbor than anticipated or indicated in listing.. Access to kayaks was available but the bay was shallow and it would be a struggle putting in even during high tide.

Quiet, peaceful and secluded
This is a beautiful, quiet, peaceful and secluded place. It has a large back porch overlooking a picturesque tidal bay. We saw deer every morning and evening. A great place to watch birds including, eagles and hawks to name a few. A great place to relax. The house was extremely clean I and well equipped. The communications from the owner were excellent and transparent. It’s a great place to experience the “real” Maine. Less than a 25 minute drive to Schoodic Peninsula - Arcadia National Park. We would definitely return for another visit.

Absolutely wonderful property, little further from Acadia than we thought
We were a group of two couples who were planning to visit Acadia for the weekend. This home advertised 30 minutes from Acadia and access to a lake kayaks SUP boards etc. and was the perfect home for our group. Sydney and Andrew were extremely communicative, helpful and their home is immaculately clean and the modern amenities, extremely comfortable beds, and included amenities allowed us to have a wonderful weekend. My only feedback is that the listing said 30 minutes from acadia and it was closer to 37-42 minutes. Not the biggest difference but it definitely changed our plans for coming and going to and from the house during our weekend as we thought things would be a little closer. The view of the lake was exceptional from the first floor, as were the bonfire pit, kayaks and SUP boards. I wish we had better weather to actually go on the lake but I would definitely keep this home in mind for my next weekend getaway
