Well appointed condo away from the crowds, yet close enough to connect with the local culture, dining, and shopping.Photos do not elude to the fact the pool and ocean is a short car ride away.
Everything was clean and comfortable. We had two problems. In the front bathroom the mirror needs to be replaced. It is very mottled and difficult to see clearly. The second problem is the TV. We called the 800 number and was told you were not connected, therefore, no TV. Other than those two items we were very happy with location and condo. Would stay there again, but with better mirror and TV.
Overall, the condo was niceāeverything was clean and well taken care of. However, I did have a few issues with our stay, mostly related to how the listing was worded.Nowhere in the listing did it mention that the condo was on the bay side. The way it was written made it seem like it was right off the ocean, as if you could walk straight out the back door onto the beachābut that wasnāt the case. The condo is on the bay side, not the beach side. The front desk staff wasnāt very helpful and came across as a bit lazy. Also, the listing mentioned that amenities from the Point West Beach Club were included, but it didnāt say you had to pay 25 per person for a paper wristband to access them. Without the wristband, you couldnāt use the pools, hot tub, or private beachādespite the listing making it sound like those amenities were part of the stay.It would have been helpful if the listing had clearly stated that there was a 25 fee for those āincludedā amenities. Another thing to be aware of: the condo is about 30 minutes away from downtown Galveston, and we werenāt able to get an Uber or Lyft during our stay. This made transportation a challenge, especially for those planning to explore the area without their own vehicle.
Whole unit was very clean and comfortable. Parking spaces are narrow but additional parking are very close. Building is not on the Gulf side of the shore but the bay is about 1/4 mile from building but no sand or swim area. Nicely kept grounds. Looking forward to our next stay.
We had a great time. Long weekend taking my Dad Fishing at San Luis Pass. This was a great location for that and he needed the elevator since he has a hard time with stairs. He also enjoyed the elevated bed. We all slept comfortably. I was happy to be able to bring our sog along and enjoyed taking long walks around pointe westcomplex. The walking and cart paths are expansive. We did not use the pools so I can't comment on that. This condo had everything we needed. T We definitely come again.
The unit was gross. Comforters/shams were stained and old. Patio cushions were torn apart with filling spilling out. Can light in kitchen was hanging out of the ceiling. Baseboards in bathroom were chewed up. Bed lamp was broken. Outdoor light was broken (light bulb busted). When we checked in, the AC was set to 85. It smelled terrible of mold & mildew. Awful, disgusting unit.
Very disappointed I had planned to be there and had several days planned. When I got there the elevator was not working. I'm 82 and the unit was on floor 3. I called several times with different answers. Finally they canceled all my plans had to be rearranged
Hello, the unit is lovely. I understand there is verbiage about the use of elevators. Though, no one communicated that the elevator was out and we were on the 3rd floor. I had to cancel my family the first night and move to a new condo for the next 2 nights. No refund or offer to move to other unit. I understand that things happen, though the office had said the elevator had been out for awhile. It should be communicated.
The only real problem with this stay was the fact that power was out one night then the elevator to the 3rd floor only worked intermittently. The local Vacasa manager was rude and would only communicate via text rather than returning a phone call. The manager told me that it was listed in the amenities section that the elevator didn't always work. This is not visible anywhere to a potential renter on VRBO or is you try to book directly on Vacasa.
I tried to get moved because someone in my party has mobility issues and could not go up stairs to the 3rd floor from the parking garage.
I was allowed to leave 4 nights early but only received $400 in credit when I only stayed one night in the unit.
The property looked NOTHING like the photos. It was disgustingly dirty. Took 15-20 photos in every single room to show the owner what it looked like. Lost over $600 on this rental as we left the next morning. They said they could have someone come in and clean it...why wasn't it cleaned before? By the amount of dirt and grime in the kitchen and on the floor, it was clear this hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I was in the middle of cancer treatment and didn't have any fight in me to write a review at the time. I explained to them I was sick and I just wanted a clean and comfortable place to relax and that I couldn't leave the property for 4-6 hours for cleaners to come in. ZERO compassion, zero accountability for the property being the way it was. Shame on you. If the property isn't as advertised, REFUND THE MONEY. ALL the money. Ridiculous I even have to write this. $600 + down the drain for staying less than 10 hours.
We had a fabulous getaway with the girls. Had shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, lots of cooking supplies and beach towels. Everything we could need and more
I have stayed at Pointe West multiple times and had a great experience. This condo is on the bayside not the beachside. Itās feels like the stepsister of Pointe West Condos. The grounds and condo were not the cleanest but were not the dirtiest. There is minimal accommodations in the condo and it is hot! The only comfortable place was in the living room with all the blinds closed. The patio furniture was broken and the metal chairs were missing the cushions. Sad to say this wasnāt the worst of it! I found the condo on VRBO but itās managed by Vacasa. They do not respond to text messages within VRBO, you have to call an 800 number which tells you that thereās a long hold time or you text them. If you hold, you are connected to someone out of stateā¦I think California. The first night I had a hard time connecting to the Wi-Fi because the power had gone out and the Xfinity modem was not availableā¦I had to call again and they had a not so friendly lady in the area call me back. The last point I have is about safety. We went to dinner one night and came back to a pitch black parking garage. I had brought my little dog so walking her that night seemed unsafe. Oh btw the elevator goes out periodically and this unit is on the top floor.
