Meh. But worth it.

It is much smaller that it looks if you’re planning on staying here with more than 2 people. One star for cleanliness - it smelled so so bad like mildew the first night. Got mildly better as the days went on and we aired it out. Our feet were black by the end of the first night due to the dirty carpet and floors, although I will say I didn’t see a speck of sand when we arrived. The sheets and even the curtains smelled terrible - almost like they had never been washed since the last guest. Smelled the same as the mildew smell of the whole place. Blood stain in the bottom right corner of the sheets in the bedroom. All of the beds were terribly uncomfortable. I will say I didn’t complain to management about any of it… it just wasn’t worth it to me for just a few days stay to have management in and out while we were there. I think it was overpriced due to condition, but if it had been clean with better beds, it is 100% worth the price. You can beat the location - I’d say it has the best location on the island. The pools are fantastic. And even better it is all fenced. Oh - and bring a buggy for your beach stuff. It is a pain going up and down with all of it even when taking the slow elevators.

Fun stay!

My family enjoyed our beach getaway! We had a great view of the pool and the beach from our balcony. The beach was walking distance from our room, making traveling to and from convenient. We would definitely stay again!

Room for Improvement but Overall a Good Stay

Booking was easy. The condo was a little hard to find, especially in the dark. There is more signage that you can see in the daylight. Overall, the condo is as described, except there aren't bunk beds in the hall. It's a single twin. A few misses to list: there were crumbs in the utensil holder, food left on a plate, dirty glasses, etc. Also, no pepper (there was a salt shaker). There was no bath mat, so we just used a towel, but it was a bit slippery. The overhead light in the bedroom had a short pull chain that I couldn't reach - had to get my daughter to turn the light on and off for me each time. It also gets hot in the main area of the condo. Some sort of fan would be appreciated. You get told in the welcome/check-in instructions to not put the thermostat below 72 or it will freeze up and that any repairs needed due to moving the thermostat lower than 72 will result in charges to your card. Get the a/c fixed! Also, several reminders that the My Galveston Getaway doesn't manage the condo property, thus they can't be blamed/held responsible for issues not related to the condo itself. Well, during our stay the wifi was out due to storm damage (not a huge deal for us). Also, on our first night, fecal matter was found in the pool which as you can imagine ruined our first evening. We were told by a property employee that the pool would be closed for 24 hours by state law, but there were people swimming the next morning.

The stay was nice, I have stayed here a few other times in different condo's. I like the location and the pool access. The condo itself was very outdated, the bed was awful for me, I had to sleep on the couch and not with my husband. The blow dryer did not work, just like the toilet would not flush all the way.....gross. I pulled a muscle trying to open and close it. There needs to be maintenance done. The AC was cold and the water was hot

It was super small. The balcony was nice but faces the sun so got HOT quick. Close to beach which was nice. Cant comment on the wifi/tv service. a storm blew in and knocked both out. so we spent the night in the dark. But over all was nice for a 1 night stay. I wouldnt want to be there any longer though due to size.

Do Not Stay Here

As soon as we opened the door we were hit with a foul smell. We thought we just needed to air it out so opened up the back door. But we realized it was the twin bed's blankets that smelled of urine. We also had to call because the toilet wouldn't flush. maintenance came and change out the bedding and worked on the toilet for an hour. It never flushed completely during our stay. We also covered the living room furniture with spare sheets because they smelled bad. Late that night we went to lock up for bed and the back door wouldn't lock. We had to wedge the broom stick to feel safe enough to sleep. The next day we got on the elevator, which already looked dilapidated but was convenient with my mom and daughter to get to top floor, the elevator jerked and made a loud noise and then stopped. We got stuck in it. I used the phone to call out and the lady that answered told me she would find maintenance for help. I told her to please hurry because it was hot and we were getting nervous. She told me to calm down because there was plenty of air. The elevator is outdoors with no air flow and baking in the sun. It was like sitting in your car in Texas heat with windows rolled up and no AC. I called 911 quickly after because my daughter was hysterical and my mom was not well. EMS came with the fire department because of the heat.As soon as we were rescued and ok we packed and left. My husband called to talk to the hosts and told we'd be refunded. We were not. It was a terrible stay!
