Not a bad cabin, could use some updates(some of the interior doors didnât close properly, some of the blinds need replaced, need to have the trash picked up during stays). All in all we enjoyed it!
Bed was shaking when slept as the bed frames weren't good. Rest rooms were stinking as the entire property is old. Pool Table was broke and it wasn't that clean either.
We saw lots of bears (some broke into our cars lol) and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The hot tub was also great. The home and furnishings could stand to be updated, but we were there for the fun and mountains and not to look at a cabin or sit on a couch. I liked the location a lot too-felt remote but was close to restaurants and the grocery store.
Aunt Bugâs cabin 12 IS NOT a luxury cabin. The cabin that I stayed in was an old cabin with appliances that were at least 25 years old that were rusted and creeky. The place was filthy with scum built up in most of the showers/bathtubs. The Jacuzzi had a 3-inch scum lining and was filled with dead insects and was linking making it unusable. Much of the outside furniture was rusted and unusable. The outside upper and lower balconies were littered with cigarette butts and beer bottle caps. There were spiderwebs lining the entire lower balcony ceiling. The webs with spiders and trapped insects were also lining the the window and balcony railings.
The outside stairs were unstable. One stair literally broke when my family member was walking down the stairs causing her to fall through the stairs. She was transported by EMS to the local hospital for treatment.
The repairman sent to fix the broken stair refused to fix other stairs that were unstable, He said, âThey sent me to repair only one broken stair.â
Three burnt out fluorescent light bulbs were left downstairs in the laundry closet adjacent to game room where the children play. There is no logical reason for this unsafe act. Two televisions didnât work. Pool stick were broken.
Aunt Bugs cabin is a ripoff. It is a dilapidated old cabin that needs a major overhaul inside & outside. It certainly isnât what they advertised it to be. I requested a rate discount and they only agreed to waive the cleaning cost. Unbelievable!
The property was nice, but could use upgrades to linen and usable bbq pit. It was not cleaned properly as there were dirty towels left in one bathroom, no batteries in a few remotes for TVs, hot tub dirty. For an opportunity to experience the mountains, the location is perfect. Just wish it the cabin would have been updated
The house was clean and had everything that we needed, would have been nice to have some fans for added comfort sleeping. Beds were comfort and was very well appointed with furniture. This was a family room for the 14 of us. Had 2 bear sighting at the property and we all enjoyed seeing the bear. Would recommend this house to other and would stay there again!
Location is ok, a lot of maintenance needed on this cabin for the price they are asking
We were given the address the very last day usually they will provide you after the last downpayment or at least a week before
Grills were dirty, leaking ceilings, lots of broken floor that
Make them dangerous to get cut really easy.
Very disappointed with how outdated the property was. Carpets with many stains, furniture old and worn out, one dinning chair had been screwed back together, but no seat support. Kitchen not sufficiently stocked for number of persons staying. Seven forks for 17 people, no cookie sheets, one large frying pan to use, other had an unsafe handle. Some of the deck boards were rotten. We had to clean the hot tub ourselves and purchase chlorine tablets for chlorine dispenser. The place needs a good spring cleaning, paint, new flooring and a new dryer. If we had not paid our money in advance we would have left and found other lodging.
Did contact management about leaky kitchen faucet and no bath tub plugs, which they promptly corrected. Management also promised to return a blue tooth speaker that was left behind. I would not rent from Aunt Bug's again knowing that not all of their cabins are appropriately updated and cared for.

I find myself having to write a negative complaint for the first time. We called and complained to management about most of the below. A maintenance man came out and asked us to write a list of all the problems. Instead of enjoying our vacation we spent the first day cleaning - asked to have a cleaning crew come out. But no one ever did. We spent a lot of money on cleaners, wipes and ended up having to clean cabin especially kitchen and bathrooms before allowed anyone to use. We spent time calling the management and listing complaints and gave them to the maintenance man. He brought back a new toilet seat and a drain for one bathroom. Still none of the leaky faucets were fixed. Or any of the ants, bees and other insects were addressed. Hot tub unusable and even after maintenance came out on next to last day it still wasn't usable. The upstairs AC never got below 77. Management did send service person but had little he could do to remedy. The other complaints below we had to live with given initial response from management. Aunt Bugs is appropriate name as cabin had ants crawling out of drain into 2 of the tubs and other sinks, bugs crawling in every room including large spider on pillow. Upon arrival found large broken glass vase with marbles inside- vase had large hole in side so a child/adult who might reach in to grab marble would slice their arm (we put it away so nobody could access it). Cabin was dirty even for pre-COVID requirements but definitely not even close to COVID clean requirements now. Bottom of broken bottle on walkway to lower deck. 2 level cabin where A/C would not cool down below 77 degrees even when set low to try and make it work. Complained there were no fans to use - except one. No hangers in closets. Nearly all faucets leaked constantly. Loose flooring in front of dishwasher enough that it flipped out first time we walked over it. Toilet stained and filthy. Hot tub cloudy and smelled. GFI outlet kept tripping so we could not use microwave unless we moved it to another spot. Trash around yard including dryer lint mounds where it was dumped over deck onto the yard - very disgusting especially given area where kids could play. Aunt Bugs cabin next to ours had 2 gas grills. We had disgusting camp grills not cleaned and at least 5 gallons of wet charcoal dust/remnants stacked next to it. We had to go to Ace Hardware to buy our own grill. Overall a disappointing stay and will never recommend or go back to Aunt Bugs.
The house it self was pretty good. Saw LOTS of bears so you can't let you childen out to play but there is plenty to do in Gatlinburg to keep them busy. House needed repairs, dishwasher, sink faucet. Also Aunt Bug's policy was to NOT give out the address which is a terrible policy when traveling 10 hours. You want an address to go to, not just riding around town waiting. We had infants so had to leave early in the morning so they would sleep getting us there before check in time. Caben was ready, cleaned but still wouldn't give us the address. Had to request 3 times for them to take the garbage as the BEARS loved it. Don't think I will rent from Aunt Bugs again.
Beautiful setting but the view was not as good as we thought it would be. Not a clear view to the mountains. Other properties very close by had better views. Not having a pool to go to (since the community pool was under renovation) was a disappointment for the kids. Had an issue with the electrical connections. One bathroom's lights were out the entire time we were there and had to have an electrician come out for other problems. The game room was great and kept us occupied on rainy days. Overall, a very nice property with a few glitches.
Good house and location was great for us. We went to the Greenbrier hiking area and did not have to go through town. 8 bedrooms and worked ok for us with 7 couples and 5 kids in the bunk room. We also had 2 infants in pack and plays in their parents closets
Tight but doable
Playroom is a bonus but no air hockey puck and some other issues
We would go back due to location
Having to check in at an office prior to arriving wasn't something I was used to having to do. Now I realize it's because they make you pay the security deposit in cash. It wasn't in the check in instructions which would have been helpful so we didn't have to search for an ATM after going to the check in office. I am not allowed to list the amount of the deposit, but suffice it to say it took multiple ATM transactions to get the required amount out.
The cabin location was very good. Parts of it are a little rough around the edges. Blinds broken, chairs sagging, lightbulbs burned out etc. Had to hook up the televisions to make them operational. There's an absurd number of remote controls, but most of them were missing batteries so bring your own.
The hot tub was a good size and operational.
