Two things hold me back from 5 stars.1. There was, surprisingly, a lot of road noise.2. The driveway is not only steep and mostly gravel, there’s 2 sharp turns to make on the ascent and it’s not for the feint of heart to negotiate. There’s a valid reason the advise you not to stop on the way up.The cabin is nice though!

Eagles Nest is ideal for a weekend getaway. While the driveway may seem intimidating at first, as the host mentions, any vehicle should be able to make it up as long as you don’t stop. It’s also an easy, convenient drive into Chattanooga.

The communication with the hosts was great and the property was close to everything, but still felt secluded. The cabin was clean and cozy but there were a few things that were an inconvenience and some things that need to be updated. None of the remotes worked to the tvs, except for one. TVs kept turning on and off by themselves or the volume control would just go all the way up. The couches really need to be updated. One was very uncomfortable (the one that turns into a bed) and the other one cut me because a spring was poking through the top of the couch. The down stairs mattresses are awful. Upstairs beds were comfortable. When booking a property, the main thing I looked for was a fireplace. This fireplace kept turning off within 5 minutes of having it on so we didn’t really get to use it. Dryer takes 3 cycles to dry anything. Our power went out while we were there but hosts were responsive and contacted the power company immediately and the issue was resolved quickly. It wasn’t a bad property, but I wouldn’t stay again if I came back to chatanooga because I feel like there were alot of things that could have been better!

This cabin is in very poor shape, very run down. Extremely uncomfortable furniture. Not a single space, chair , couch, or dining table was comfortable. The supports on dining chairs kept falling out, making them unsafe. Dining chairs and bar stool upholstery was stained and needed cleaning badly. No one even wanted to sit on the barstools!Ddead Beds need new mattresses. Bedding was very dingy and dated, as were window treatments. Dingy lace curtains made the rooms feel dirty.Bathrooms were small but nice. Towels were not good. White towels that were dirty looking, very small and non absorbent! Everyone was disgusted by them.The doors squeaked so loud that it woke people up if they were napping, or at night. Every single door squeaked, both indoor and exterior.Kitchen appliances were okay and worked well. Eight dinner plates provided, but not enough bowls, lunch plates to match. The cheap plastic dinner service had knife cuts and gouges in them making them unsanitary to use even after going through dishwasher.Heating worked well. There were no activities like games, fire pit on site. Overall our family was extremely disappointed. The furniture, or most of it was 50 years old. Not quaint just old, dingy and broken and stained. This place is not as described nor do the photos give an accurate depiction of the place.I do not recommend this place for families, old or young.

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The owners were quick to respond to any questions I had. We loved the secluded feel and enjoyed the gas fireplace while we were there. We even got a see a few snow flurries one day which was very unexpected for November. If I had to make only one suggestion, it would be to maybe consider swapping one of the upstairs bedrooms to a king sized bed. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely book again.

We were unable to stay in the cabin because one of our AWD vehicles couldn’t get up the steep, gravel driveway. Even though we couldn’t stay, we were told there would be no refund even though the cabin could have been rented to someone else.

Eagles Nest

The cabin is very nice and clean. The host was very prompt with communication and helpful. There were a couple things we did not like about the cabin. The biggest being the driveway. It goes from asphalt to rutted rock to concrete. Even with 4x4 it is a rough ride. With as much as is invested in the property, a few thousand more and the driveway could be finished. The second is the road noise from the interstate. The noise funnels up the valley and you can hear it all night inside.

Awesome cabin

This cabin is a great place for a family getaway with two main bedrooms and a kids' room with bunk beds and bean bag chairs in the basement. It was clean and the rental company was great at communicating via the VRBO app.If you read reviews more closely than you read listings, you need an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle to make it up the driveway!!! My car didn't make it but luckily my parents' did.

Nice stay

Overall, very nice place. Spacious and clean. Did have an issue with hot water downstairs. However that was just luck, nothing to do with the property itself. Also, trash bins outside hadn’t been emptied so we were unable to take our trash out.

Lovely home

We enjoyed our stay. Nice home. Family in the area were able to come spend time playing board games with us and just hanging out catching up. Close drive to Shellmound park on the river. This would be awesome for a family with kids as the downstairs room is very cute with nice bunk beds and their own bathroom/shower. Will definitely choose again. Does have steep driveway.

Great Stay!

This property was beautiful. Has everything you need and more. The property manager was great with communication. The only con I guess you would say is that the driveway is very steep and it had rained the past few days before our arrival making it a rough trek up it. The property manager did reach out to make us aware of this and said we would need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to make it up the driveway, we did in fact have a 4 wheel drive vehicle so we had no issues. Other than the driveway this house was beautiful and had all the necessities needed for a great stay!

Perfect!

Everything was perfect. The cabin is nestled in a wooded area away from all distractions. The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Sage was great to work with and was quick to respond to questions. Will def stay again if we return to the area.

Eagles nest

Cabin was nice need 4x4 to get to the cabin it’s located at the top of a steep driveway. Key pad wasn’t working properly but was able to get the key from the key box , front screen door , the screen was coming apart , missing a knife from the knife set , gas logs didn’t work, downstairs was on the colder side , the living room tv only worked half the time, the guest bed in the upstairs room had part of the frame hanging down . The water pressure was very low , over all it was still a nice place to stay just a few minor things that didn’t keep us from having a good time
