Beds were comfortable the deck was very nice! Even in the rain the covered part of the deck gave us a beautiful place to sit with family and have fun! Just a short steps to the beach! Was absolutely amazing stay!

Wonderful Spot

We came here with family for a 60th birthday party and it was perfect. The house is rustic but clean and cozy and neat. It had everything we needed and we were extremely comfortable. The outdoor space was to die for. I highly recommend this spot. We will be back.

Easy Beach Access

Property is great. Only complaint is the AC unit needs replacing. Older heat pump unit just couldn’t cut it on two hot days. Up to 83 during day but was cooler than outside and cooled down overnight. Even that didn’t necessarily hinder our stay. Just walk the 50 yards to the water and problem solved. Not overly crowded beach area at all.

Rolf’s Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this location. The house was conveniently located and all rooms were on the main floor. We had plenty of room. It was only a few steps to the beach. It was nicely decorated suited for the beach. There were a couple of things that would have made our stay absolutely perfect. The refrigerator/freezer had a seafood smell that we couldn’t get rid of with baking soda and cleaning. Also it would have been nice to have a Smart TV in the master bedroom, one was in another bedroom. Other than those things, we had a wonderful time. We look forward to going again. Thanks, Lori B

Wonderful Family Vacation!

We celebrated our daughter’s 16th birthday. We had plenty of room for the 9 of us. It was comfortable! A home away from home! Love the layout of the beach home! Great communication. Had a problem with the air but when reported they were quick in getting out to resolve it. Made lots of family memories! Love how close it is to the beach! Highly recommend! Pros: Deck, distance to beach and loaction were awesome!!! Cons: Oven did not work (ruined food trying to use it). Toaster oven missing knobs. Had to buy our own dish towels (did not have 1) and pans (need to be replaced.) Sliding door outside main bedroom very difficult to open/close.

PERFECT Beach location for families

We absolutely LOVED Rolf's Retreat for our family beach vacation. The access to the beach was the best we have ever had. The kitchen was well-stocked with any kind of dish or utensil you could need (I loved the labels!) There were plenty of towels for everyone. Everything was bright and beachy and super clean. The wifi worked great, even with several devices attached. The rooms are large. The porch is huge! My recommendation is to get a grocery delivery and be beach bums for your whole stay.

Relaxing and Beautiful Views

This is our second year coming to this property for a friends vacation. We travel with our young children and love that we can let them play on large porches and then easily access the beach without loading everyone up with all our belongings and committing to being on the beach all day. We come and go as we please and watch the waves from the couch inside though the sliding glass doors or from the porch. The property is always clean (although I have forgotten coffee filters both times so heads up to bring those!) and supplied with whatever we need to cook and eat our meals in the property. We love coming here and look forward to returning.

Beautiful spot

We had a wonderful stay! It was great to have the beach right there, and we absolutely loved the big deck. The place was very clean and well kept. There were a couple of things that could use updating/replacement, such as the lamp with electrical tape in the one bedroom, but they were small things that didn’t really bother us. Our kids loved playing football on the beach, and we liked that we were close enough to drive to a variety of restaurants. We would definitely recommend this place to others.

Lovely stay at Gulf Shores

Rulfs Retreat is a lovely beach house. Older and in need of some updates, but overall it is a great place to beach! It is well stocked, but no extras like condiments, spices, etc. Make sure you bring everything you will need to cook as well as extra TP. The view is beautiful and the beach is quiet. Just a few oil rigs off to the left but they don't ruin the view at all. The sun and shade deck are the best part. Spacious and provides perfect shade to spend the day watching the water. We did have a few people walk through the property to access the beach, which we didn't really like, but the beach is big enough for everyone. The house was clean and everything was pretty much as pictured. We would like to return for another stay next year!
