We flew in to Pensacola and then drove to Gulf Shores. So, unlike previous trips, we were unable to bring a lot of our amenities and were relying on the rental to have some bare essentials. We had come to find that our expectations did coincide with reality. First, the rental did not have any basic seasonings. This isn’t a problem if you plan on eating out every meal but if you’re a family like we are and cook 2 out 3 meals most days then having to buy salt and pepper when you show up is inconvenient but not deal breaking. Second, there were no coffee filters. Again, this really didn’t prove to be a problem because the coffee maker didn’t work anyways (see picture). Third, on the afternoon of day one we found out the clothes washer didn’t work, after we had loaded it up. We contacted property management and they sent someone out to look at it. Property maintenance couldn’t fix the issue so they had to call out the appliance people. Never heard if the issue was resolved so we washed our clothes in the bathtub, for the whole week. Also, we were contacted and asked if a realtor could show the property we were staying in. Long story short, we won’t stay here again. May be because the owner is looking to sell the place that little care was put into it but with plenty of available properties in the area we’ll pass on this one next time.
