« This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. « Nous avons passé une nuit dans ce Guest House, très confortable, avec TV, sèche cheveux, café/thé dans la chambre. Le lit était immense et de qualité, salle de bains à part mais privatif, est nos hôtes étaient charmant. Je connaissais le lieu parce que j'ai grandi pas loin. Je recommande vivement ce Guest House. »

« The inn is next to the river ouse in a beautiful area and, by car, is 5 minutes from St. Ives, a very interesting town to visit. To visit Cambridge you can go via various little villages through the countryside avoiding the very crowded A14 - about 40 mins. The room we had was quite small though comfortable with all the usual services. I would recommend asking for a large room on the side away from the kitchen to avoid the noise of the kitchen fan. « Parking was easy not so sure about secure. It is pet friendly but there is nowhere closeby where you could let the dog off as the garden opens on to the main road. Didn't see any staff apart from the manager when we arrived and that was a total fluke. the room was riddled with ants they were everywhere, i even landed up bringing some home with me. The pedal bin had'nt been washed out. »
