I stayed here and worked while my son attended Sea Turtle Camp for the week in N. Topsail. It was as-advertised. On the plus side, I spent my early morning walking the dog and getting breakfast/coffee (there are tons of options within walking distance) and ate on the beach across from the house, then worked throughout the day, went for a run, then walked to dinner (same thing, lots of options). Rinse and repeat every day during the week. By the time the week came to end, I didn't want to leave. It was comfortable, cozy, and had most everything you need for a long stay.
The backyard is as big as it looks, and they have swinging doors at the top of the stairs to keep the dogs in. Mine hung out with me on the front porch when I took calls. The front of the house with the kitchen and family area was updated and super nice.
On the could-do-better side is the back of the house. One of the beds is not terribly comfortable, and the rooms could use a little warmth, or TLC as my mom used to say. The bathroom is tiny, and as a tall guy, that was a little bit of a challenge, but like the backyard, the bathroom picture is accurately shown in the listing. Finally, the walls are a little thin. There was a family staying next door with a baby, and I could hear it cry most days when I was working, and could hear muffled conversation, but not so thin as to overhear conversations.
All things considered, however, I really enjoyed my stay. So 5*s.
