We are a middle age group of women who met at church. After moves and family changes took place, we began to meet annually to catch up and document and create memories. We are crafty women who scrapbook, paint, make cards, and enjoy eac othersâ company.
Mixed group of 10, 30ish to 60ish, biking, hiking, kayaking , fishing (property has small floating dock) fireside chats, cook outs, book reading, bird watching, music playing etc. Access to the property is a very rocky rural road, but even FedEx can get there. lol
The kitchen is really well equipped and in good order. The bedrooms and common areas are clean comfortable and well furnished. TV / Wifi / Wifi Calling all had great service. Highly recommend!
Overall the owners, property, and relaxation was great. Drew and Adrienne are very nice and accomodating. We were not happy with the river access. Very muddy at the dock area for our dog to use the river. Hopefully in time, more river access will be opened up. Not a complaint, but more of a let down. We would definitely visit again.
All good things. Just what we needed. Hosts were incredibly thoughtful and kind. Winter storm hit, but we had to be in the area for a funeral. Accomodations were perfect for our family of 5 and family dog. The hosts plowed snow for us, provided farm fresh eggs, and made our stay very comfortable. My whole family wants to come back in the summer.
It was perfect for what we wanted. We brought groceries and had a quiet family weekend. Itâs a renovated old farm house with a lot of character.
We would definitely stay again.
We all had so much fun on our vacation. The cottage has so much charm and they really preserved thatâs charm. The hosts were super nice and very helpful when needed. Thank you for the perfect getaway!
Great place to stay private you can walk outside and you never know the owners are there unless you would need something exactly how we like it camp fires every night
This is the place to be if your family enjoys a natural setting in a historic location! Complete with great fishing, bald eagle sightings, and the H&BT Trail system, you will not be disappointed! Our family, young and older, all enjoyed a laid back rural vacation and we cannot wait to go back!
This is a beautiful, spacious property with incredible amenities, thoughtfulness, and a great location. The hosts take care of everything and think of great details like beautifully folded and placed towels, necessities for kitchen and bath, games, books, dvdâs, smart tv, great WiFi, and even a sâmores set up for the excellently maintained campfire rings. The kayaks and paddles provided are incredible- numerous and all equipment is in great shape. The river was gorgeous and access is easy. It really could not be better nor a greater value. The hosts were responsive and accessible but never intrusive. Canât say enough- will be back and recommend to anyone visiting the beautiful Bedford, PA area. Thank you so much!!
The cottage has plenty room for a large group. It was just the 2 of us so we had the place to ourselves. We chose this location because it was in close proximity to Fairhope where we were picking up our new puppy. There was plenty of yard space for the new pup to run and play. Adrienne and Drew were great hosts and readily available for any questions/concerns we had. They are working on their other cabin, The Lodge, that we would love to come back and visit. It was looking great while we were there and more on the size scale we normally choose. We enjoyed fishing in the river and hanging out by the firepit. Linda's Little General Store is very close and had a variety of items to help in case you forget something for you trip. I forgot sunscreen and it was very warm the first 2 days we were there. Thanks for having us!
This was perfect for a family vacation that was relaxing for those who wanted to relax but also those who wanted to fish and take advantage of the boats/tubes on property had a great time as well.
The owners were very nice and attentive when we asked for anything. The house was clean and accommodating for all 7 of us. Ilove that the property was just off the beaten path so there was not a bunch of others in and out.
We cannot wait to book another stay here next year!
Hosts thought of every possible need/want in the house and were available (but not hovering) if there were any question. Beautiful setting. Beautiful furnishings. So relaxing (after a slightly hairy driveway!). Theyâre opening up more cottages this spring so will be perfect for larger groups.
Wish weâd stayed longer but hope to return.
*must like ladybugs
Drew and Adrienne were ready to communicate with, had everything laid out so that we didnât have to ask for anything.
The cottage itself was a blend of old style vintage decor and modern updated furniture and fittings.
Usually very finicky around cleanliness of the bathrooms, this time I could rest easy. Though there is only one bathroom, it is updated and clean and well stocked.
We enjoyed the outdoors with our dog Bruno and the campfire- our children were very happy to see a sâmores kit all ready abs waiting for us when we arrived!
Only one thing my daughter and I were creeped out by were the couple of worms indoors, and large number of stink bugs and lady bugs inside the windows! But I guess itâs natural in a setting with the woods behind. It did not affect our stay in any way though!
The property is large and we were able to enjoy walks there. Itâs also very close to Raystown lake and numerous trails around! Will definitely return in the future
It was a nice getaway! It was great to be so close to the water.
This property is beautiful. The driveway is an adventure. The cottage is quaint. Drew responded very quickly when we blew a fuse. It was a lovely Thanksgiving!
