Fourth Time at a Fun Spot

This house is always fantastic and is my kid's favorite vacation of the year. They love the dock, lake access, and the water toys that we have access to. We rent 3-4 properties a year and the Fun Spot locations are always the best run and most welcoming. Love our vacations here.

Wonderful wedding location!

The house was perfect for our small wedding. Beautiful views and plenty of space for the wedding party to stay overnight after the reception. The hosts were very attentive and provided all the info we needed. Would definitely recommend for any occasion!

What a great stay! The house was fully stocked and had something for everyone. Great opportunity to shift from work to play without leaving the location. My questions were answered promptly and the owner's followed-up on my questions to make sure everything was taken care of. Definitely recommend staying here for ALL your occasions.

Great property for family Thanksgiving

Plenty of room for a large family gathering. The house and kitchen were very well appointed, had everything we needed during our stay. Only suggestion would be additional lighting in the front of the house. Accessing the cars at night was a bit difficult. We had a great experience and would love to come back in the summer and enjoy more of the outdoor amenities.

Beautiful accommodations for a wedding

The FunSpot 3 exceeded are unbelievably high expectations for our wedding. The hosts do a top notch job and plan for everything. The hosts are kind, communicative, and very responsive. The FunSpot 3 is beautiful and has everything any person of any age would want including a movie theater, game room, lake equipment, large open house, guest house…. We unequivocally recommend the FunSport 3, and we look forward to being able to stay there again.

Kylor and Susan are absolutely the BEST! We contacted them over a year ago about planning our wedding and interested in their property. He invited us to come walk-through during his family’s getaway to view the property! We instantly fell in love as I’m sure they did when they first saw the property. The natural lighting is amazing throughout the house. It’s so peaceful and relaxing no matter where you are. The kitchen just wow with the room to move around comfortably with multiple people in there and accommodating with multiple stovetops, dishwashers, sinks, refrigerators and counter spaces. There are plenty of serving dishes, plates, silverware and cooking supplies there. The interior decor (colors) are absolutely stunning with the lake theme and my favorite detail that ties it all together. The grille outside and tables came in very handy for us during our visit. We had a bit of an issue the first day there and Kylor had a solution immediately. The downstairs theatre room and games were a huge hit and the pool table. The sound system was awesome to play music outside and relax in the hammocks. It was really nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom (so no sharing haha). The views of the lake no matter where you are is just absolutely stunning! Just an overall wonderful experience and host made it even more special to us.

Fabulous Memorial Day Weekend

Fun House 3 was a wonderful way to begin our summer season. Memorial Day weekend with family and friends was comfortably spent on the spacious dock as well as the overly accommodating house. The bedrooms all are spacious and comfortable with up to date bathrooms. The kitchen was perfect for hosting a large group for multiple meals. The weather was beautiful which allowed us to spend most of our time on the amazing dock. We loved using the kayaks, SUPs, floaties, corn hole and spike ball. So nice having all the toys available at the house. The owners provided detailed information prior to arriving as well as checked in during our visit. They also graciously offered us extra time to enjoy the afternoon after a rainy morning. We will definitely make every effort to return.

Expectations Exceeded By Far!

My boyfriend and I came here with a group of friends, and our expectations were exceeded by far. The house was spacious, had any amenity you would hope for, including an air fryer, multiple crockpots, all the cookware and utensils you would need and then some. There are a ton of kayaks and paddle boards, making it even more enjoyable to be out on the water. I would come back here in a heartbeat and everyone in the group would agree.

Lake House Love

Home has everything you could want or need for an upscale lake house experience! Beautiful views of Smith Mountain Lake, many gathering spaces and places on 3 levels, 8 kayaks, music system that works throughout the house, movie theater seating, private baths in each room. I could go on and on. The kitchen is well-stocked with 2 refrigerators. Places to get away from the bustle. State Park hikes 3 miles away.

Best vacation home for an active group

The house was everything we were hoping and more. The kayaks, paddle boards, and life jackets were all easily accessible and the dock was comfortable and spacious to watch everyone out in the water. The bed rooms were large with comfortable beds and well decorated (unlike other places on the lake). The kitchen, grill, ice makers, dish washers and refrigerators made cooking for a lot of people a breeze. The downstairs game room and movie room entertained all the kids for days. In addition, the hosts were responsive and courteous. Hands down best place for an active group. We loved it!

The Gang

The house was perfect. It was everything and more. The pictures of the house and view did not disappoint. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed to cook with. Bonus was 2 dishwashers and 2 refrigerators in the kitchen. Made meals a breeze. Loved waking up every morning and having coffee on the deck with a beautiful view of the lake to look at. The dock was perfect also. Plenty of room for us all to just hang out on. Only thing we would change is to stay longer.This was just a Labor Day weekend get together and it was to short. Kylor was perfect host. Definitely will book this place again. Thanks again for a great place!!

Fabulous property, amazing hosts!

The pictures do not do this property justice - it is FABULOUS. Stunning views and so much outdoor space - from the decks/patios to the dock complex. Extremely spacious and thoughtful design to maximize the experience. They have really thought through the guest experience in every room. The kitchen has multiple dishwashers, fridges, and trash to make large scale meals a breeze. There are games and speakers throughout the house. The bedrooms are comfortable and cozy. And, the media room was a huge hit - was like having a little movie theater in the house. You won't want to leave the property! And, the hosts were communicative, helpful, and flexible. Overall, an amazing experience!

Unbelievable 😍

What an absolutely perfect place to spend time with family! There are quite literal no words for how perfect the property was. It is bigger and more beautiful than the pictures capture, and they had a binder of information laid out for us that was comprehensive and simple. Relaxing and hanging out at the house just happened organically because it is set up perfectly to accommodate larger groups. My kids caught their first little fishes off the dock, we took the kayaks out for a short paddle, and had some drinks at the dock bar. We got married in a private ceremony prior to coming here, and saved our first dance to do on the fire pit area overlooking the lake. Our family was able to be up on the covered patio underneath the deck looking down on us while we danced. You couldn't build a better place for a celebration of family gathering if you tried.

60th Anniversary Celebration

It was perfect with the six bedrooms. Love the set up and design. Really enjoyed all the games outside, especially the pool table inside. Kitchen utensils were awesome. Only downs were the sofa was not comfortable and the dock had only one side for boat security. Need more cleats to dock since you can’t use boat lift. Upstairs first front bedroom/bathroom the shower Faucet leaked and wouldn’t cut off. The exust fan/tub light did not work.

Great reunion place

We had 11 adults using the 6 bedrooms and had a wonderful time. As far as bedrooms, four are outstanding, the other two ( basement bunk and queen and cottage) just ok- would be fine for younger people though. We had a few minor issues with the cottage but Kylor was quick to respond. Having so many kayaks to use was a big highlight for us and it was easy to stay away from the bigger sections where the speed boats were. The kitchen is probably the best stocked of any vrbo I have ever seen. We didn’t use a lot of the game options like air hockey and arcade games but we enjoyed the corn hole and the pool table. The outside seating is so nice and lots of options for sun or shade. Definitely recommend as long as you know the cottage bed has a steep ladder and you have to use that to get down to the bathroom at night. Overall a great place!

Nature is unpredictable but being prepared isn’t.

Kylor was very helpful with information about the house leading up to our stay and during the stay. We were holding a special event at this household. He was readily available to answer questions about the property and features that we were concerned about. We spoke on the phone multiple times to insure a great and easy visit. The house is amazing, with beautiful views of the lake and mountains from the balconies. Stunning newly renovated dock, with plenty of activities provided. Dock house is what you’d imagine what a dock house would be. The basement is full of fun, theater room, bar area, table games, and the SONOS sound system was a nice touch and easy to use. The fire pit with plenty of provided wood was a plus. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The kitchen is very large and provided plenty of features for cooking. One very important missing factor of the house is that it does not have a backup generator on the property. The trip happened to fall in line with Hurricane Ian showing up unexpectedly to the special event. The power was knocked out the night we arrived and lasted for 12hrs into the morning. The house is on an electric water pump, so that meant no power and no water (which means no flushing toilets) - could have been a deal breaker for this planned special event. Kylor was readily available to be contacted, and we texted back and forth knowing that we both did not have any immediate solutions. He was able to source a generator locally, but that didn’t mean the roads were clear of any debris. A large tree had fallen up the street less than a mile from the property, keeping us from traveling. The house is located deep into SML, with lots of tall old trees hovering above power lines. A house of this magnitude that houses 16 people and allows events should have a backup generator on the property. Overall, the special event went on and things were as they were. Again, Nature is unpredictable but being prepared isn’t.

Our wedding weekend!

Absolutely fantastic and better than the pictures. We had our micro wedding here and our family said it was one of their favorite weekends ever. Communication was great. Highly recommend and we want to come back!!
