The views are excellent and the neighbors were quiet. The condo building was trying to get some maintenance done before the weather turned, so I completely understand the crane and the "beep beep beep" at 7:15 am. I did think that 7:15 was an early time to start work, but they have a lot to do. The condo was well suited for travelers, although the queen bed mattress was very uncomfortable. The sofa that faces the fireplace is not as comfortable as it appeared to be, but the arm chairs are perfectly fine. There are two swing type chairs hung from rafters on the covered porch that look out to the lake which I did not care for as they obscured the view and for most people, their feet cannot rest on the floor. They are an eclectic idea and can be removed, but I did not want to attempt to remove them to improve the view and then place more practical chairs on the porch. The baths are perfectly fine and there are plenty of towels. The kitchen worked out well and we stopped at the Food Lion in Moneta which is about 15-20 minutes away. The amenities are excellent. We played tennis, used the indoor pool, the arcade/game room and Bruno's restaurant is very good and the staff are super nice. There are walking trails in the community, but go to Smith Mountain Lake Park for their trails too. The ranger station is open as it is state run and not affected by the current shutdown.
