The house was a great pick for our little retreat. We had three adults and a newborn and it was a perfect size for us all to gather and still have our own space. We didn't get to use the game room, but it would be prefect for families with older kids. The house is on top of the hill with stunning views from both decks. It was a very short drive (less than 5 minutes) to downtown Julian but with the hot tub and games, you don't even need to leave. We'll very likely be back when my kiddo is a bit older and can really enjoy all the amenities. The hosts were great and made sure we had a wonderful stay.

Great view of the Milky Way at night from the house (and the hot tub)—the stars were amazing . Dirt road for the last 1/3 mile is challenging but manageable. Felt very private.

Quiet 4th of July

We had a wonderful stay in Julian over 4th of July. We wanted a quiet 4th of July for our dog. The property has wonderful views and had everything we needed. They even left snacks and water for us to enjoy during our stay.

Great Spot!

Wonderful spot for a girls weekend with a lovely view. Very close to town. House was well stocked with helpful things. Very private property which worked great for our group.

What can I say? This property has so much to offer from 7 acres, to a wonderful owner, hot tub, and all the amenities you could want. We are so thankful to have stayed there.

360 hilltop view

We had a 360 hilltop view from virtually every window in the house as well as the outdoor fireplace on the front deck, and the Jacuzzi on the back deck. We hope to return here soon.

Healing Getaway

Surrounded by amazing views. Quality time with family and friends.Made great memories. Jacuzzi was so relaxing and beds were so cozy! We did not want to leave!ba back soon.

mountain getaway

we had a great vacation! the property was as advertised: three bedrooms with linens and two baths with lots of towels. the hot tub was super fun both at night under the stars and during the day while bird watching. my family enjoyed the puzzles and games, and we appreciated the bottled water. *it appears that the property is undergoing some renovations (exposed duct work, open ceilings) and everything was a little dusty / dirty.

Hilltop retreat

A great getaway! We experienced both a snow covered wonderland and then clear blue skies with amazing views. David and Lisa are attentive, communicative and overall wonderful hosts. We will be returning to this beautiful and secluded hilltop home.

Comfortable & Fun Stay

The place was great! We loved the comfortable bed, the wood stove, the game room, and the wonderful jacuzzi. The hosts were also very responsive to communications, kind, and accommodating. We ended up not getting to sit out on the deck due to the weather, but we hope to come back another time!

Amazing Mountain Getaway

Beautiful property, beautiful views. Feels like you’re miles away from anything but it’s only minutes to downtown Julian! Very friendly and communicative hosts, would highly recommend for a weekend getaway or longer!

Perfect mini getaway

We visited for my son’s birthday and we wish we would’ve stayed longer. Dave was very attentive and responded to my messages in a timely manner. Dave and Lisa had a birthday card ready for my son, such a nice gesture, it was the perfect touch. The toilet seats are heated and my 5 year kept saying “my favorite toilet”, lol. Looking forward to visiting again.

Christmas getaway

We spent Christmas at the property. Sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. We saw deer almost every morning. The kitchen, dining and living room areas were comfortable for the six of us. Our granddaughter loved the drawing table in the game room. The foosball and darts were a nice touch as well. We really enjoyed the proximity to Julian yet being in a quiet peaceful setting.

Ladies trip

Lovely property with all the amenities we needed. Conveniently located to town and hiking, which we utilized. Great communication with our host who supplies a few iterm I have never seen on VRBO, what a great treat. Totally recommend for a quiet get away.

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

The views from this home are amazing. Stargazing at night is a delight from the deck. We enjoyed our family Thanksgiving in this beautiful home. Dave and Lisa were fantastic with communicating with us before our trip. This home was truly cozy and relaxing, a serene setting. There were many special touches, including the crisp, fresh apples that greeted us when we arrived. Thank you to our lovely hosts!

Fall weekend in Julian

The property is off a paved road and actually on a one lane dirt road. It is not a long distance that you are driving on an unpaved road, but as we were driving up, a large truck pulling a trailer came up, and we head to drive in reverse on a one lane dirt road which was slightly unnerving. It didn't bother my husband who was driving but it would have upset and scared me to have to do that. The house is secluded and on a hill, so great view! It has been going through a remodel, so the landscaping is not done. It just seems rustic and it was totally safe walking around the grounds. The AC worked great, all the comforts of home, gaming system for the kids, nice deck to enjoy.
