Life in the Country
We were a day late in arriving due to illness and work schedules. I alerted the manager who said I would receive a welcome notice so I would know how to communicate. Never received. The place was very clean, other than the ring around the toilet that appeared to have not been cleaned. The outside porch area with grill could be picked up more. Upon arrival a large trash can was upside down in this area which we found curious and a concern as to what might be trapped underneath. The lid was on top of an outdoor dining table. The grass had not been mowed for a while. They did come to mow on departure day. The place accommodated us all nicely. The layout downstairs of the living room, dining room, and kitchen really allowed us all to be “together”. The kids enjoyed the guest house. The beds upstairs could have been a bit more comfortable, but they weren’t awful. The gate to the property was NOT locked upon arrival. We wondered if the mechanism was working. We left it that way. It was closed and locked it on the day of departure, perhaps the mowers did this. Our biggest disappointment was the condition of the pond which is described in the information about the property as a spot to “cast a line”. Not only did it have algae, but it also emitted a strange scent. Please consider more plastic cups of some sort. Glassware is great, but not outdoors especially by the pool and in the guest house where kids are most likely to be.
