Property was fine overall. Rooms were clean and spacious, however they smelled musty and could use an update (dated). Breakfast was delicious and staff was friendly. The beach was small but cute. Manatees would swim by each day..very exciting. Cons were that you have to pay for the kayak rental..super expensive. No where on their website or expedia does it mention this. Additionally, there were very few beach chairs and no umbrellas. It was scalding hot, and no one could use the beach for very long as it was too hot. Installing chairs and umbrellas would be such a small expense for a huge hotel chain and the raitings would improve. Pool was nice, but again no chairs, and one small table. Its a non smoking property but the people below us smoked the entire time and stunk us out. We did alert the desk and they asked them to stop, but they didnt. This was probably our biggest turnoff, as we couldnt enjoy the patio. Would we stay again? Possibly for one night or two on our way down the keys, but thats about it.
Some updates, put in more chairs/umbrellas, offer free/inexpensive kayak rental, and enforce the non smoking policy..and you have a gem.
