We enjoyed our stay/trip and the property management company VHKW did a great job managing a few bumps (elevators down, stairs locked so no access etc). Properly was clean and kitchen/shared bath looked very new/recent renovation. Master bath probably due for refresh but was clean and very functional. We loved the location as walkable to local spots, quick uber to downtown etc. Would have been nice to get stair key and codes to pool bathrooms up front but for us these were minor issues and something I think can quickly be added. Overall would stay here again and rent from VHKW again. VRBO fees were really high on this one…really didn’t provide much value so will consider that in future bookings.

Location is amazing but pray you don’t have any issues. We checked in on Saturday to find no wifi and no cable. Messaged the property management company immediately to get a response mid-day Monday because they “don’t work Saturday and Sunday”. Issues were still not fixed by checkout on Wednesday and was blamed on holiday week and island time. First line in the welcome flyer is not to ask for refunds or credit if wifi and cable don’t work. I’m presuming this is the normal for this unit. The management company did act promptly when the electronic door lock went dead. Thankful for that. I would say the unit is clearly a cash cow for the owners and with water damage, bubbling and peeling paint in the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen that weren’t shown in the pictures I’d be hesitant to stay in this specific unit again. Beautiful view, easy parking, great walk to the beach but the unit and experience on our vacation left a lot to be desired.

The accommodations were satisfactory but for the price I would have thought that we’d get more than very basic cable. We didn’t watch a lot of TV, but then again there wasn’t a great variety. My biggest complaint was that the elevators weren’t working properly and we didn’t have a key for the staircase in order to get access to our unit when the elevator wasn’t working. That was a problem.

Girls Get Away

Really enjoyed this condo and the location was great. Lovely beach just across the road. Very nice and warm pool. Beds were comfortable and condo is just as pictured. We didn’t really cook but kitchen appeared to be well stocked. Everything we wanted to see/do was approximately a 12 Uber/Lyft ride away and they were plentiful. We enjoyed the condo and the ocean view was extra nice!

Overall it was fine but there was constant road construction just outside our unit and planes flying over from the nearby airport. The hot water was in short supply for a group of 6 but the neighbors were all nice older people and welcoming overall.

Beautiful view but poor management

I’ll start with the positive, the view is gorgeous! I texted the manger 53 minutes before 4:00, check in time, asked when they would send door code. We weren’t checking in early, but it’s comforting to know we have what we need to get in. She texted the code back and said, “it’s on the portal” she lied. It wasn’t. Then after our first night the internet and cable went out. I told her that night, and had no internet or cable the entire rest of our 6 days. We paid for it, but never had it, no refunds even though that is part of what we were paying for. The screen on the back door never functioned, I told her and she said, basically yep, it’s broken. She showed up without notice and when my husband came out, super inappropriately said, “I’m your replacement wife.” The day we left, the housekeeper knocked at exactly 10:00. We paid over 1000/ night and the view wasn’t worth it. We could have rented 2 rooms at Ocean's edge resort for 1/3 less than what we paid. Condo had a great view, it was dated and there was a bunch of long black hairs on the towels and in the bathroom. Management was a hugeletdown. I would definitely not stay here twice. DO NOT COME IN BEFORE 4:00 AND DO NOT LEAVE AFTER 10:00!!!!.

Need to fix several items in Key West

No hot water in front bathroom-shower and sink. Also, I didn’t have any instruction to look for the deadbolt key in the little black box next to the front door. I had to call the after hours rental office because I never received the door combination. The condo was spotless. It was very spacious.

Condo was perfect for our group. Right across from the beautiful beach. Just a short Uber ride to Duval st for bars and beaches. The only thing was we never received the code to the gate or the elevator, luckily we ran into the building manager and he gave us the code. Other than that, things were good.

Friends Vacation and an Anniversary

The property overall was in a good location. About 12 minutes to Mallory square and downtown Duval street, across the street from Smathers beach and a mile down the road from excellent pier fishing. The room was on the second floor so we had a good view over the ocean as well. The only minor negatives were that maintenance had to come in a few times to look for a leak. It wasn’t affecting our unit but I am never a fan of strangers in the apartment while no one was there. That said, there were no issues and they were as quick as they could be. The sliding glass door was covered in a sheet of salt when we got there. Given the size of the cleaning fee I would have expected that to be wiped down prior to arrival. We cleaned it on Tuesday and it stayed clear through the rest of the week dramatically improving the view. There was also a loose floor tile in the kitchen due to some old water damage from the looks of it and we had a small ant problem in the kitchen that persisted even after the property was sprayed. Overall I would recommend staying here, the view was good, the location was what we wanted and the pool and hot tub were nice features.

Check in was terrible

The property manager uses a different platform to communicate but we did not have access to it so we had NO property access information such as gate code, elevator access code and condo door code. It took over an hour to get answers and that's only because one of our party was lucky enough to be at the manager's office when they walked out the door. She was able to get the codes so we finally had what we needed. They forgot to update their answering service on access which made it even more confusing.
